*** December 2021 Review *** Sushi | Party Tray | LLBO | Alternative location on Yonge | Take Out As their #1 Fan I came back again for my Love Boat. And they are LLBO now I also just realized that they have an alternate location opened near Centerpoint Mall! Which I'll definitely visit in the near future. Food and service was great as always. Melissa was super sweet and made my Winter Solstice dinner wonderful. The chef also checked up on us, very cute. Overall, still an amazing experience and can't wait to check out their other location! ************************************************** *Soft Opening Review* October 2021 Sushi | Party Tray | Moved from old location | LLBO (soon) | Take out Followed them from their old location as I loved their food quality and service. It's been over a year since I've dined in with them since COVID hit, I was only able to order take out from their old location and eat in the car. I ordered our usual Love Boat for 2 and the quality is just as good as before And a tiny surprise of black Tobiko instead of the usual orange. Normally we get japchae and salad but maybe due to soft opening they're not doing it yet. They also didn't have uni a la carte at the moment. The service and friendliness did not change and just as lovable. The sweet owner is still just as kind and hospitable. Their new location is clean and beautiful. Unfortunately they're still soft opening so their food delivery application and liquor license is still on the way. Overall, lovely experience. Can't wait to come back and visit again ... Although they're a bit further from their old location

It used to be at the Golden Court Plaza, they have moved to this new location. They have kept their freshness of sushi and sashimi, their Don Kastu was juicy. Service was great. Remember they closed on Mondays

We got a new contender for the best sushi in the area. We ordered 40 pieces of sushi and 40 pieces of sashimi combo takeout from Akane yesterday. Nice presentation, good variety, and everything was very fresh and tasty. We will certainly be back again, probably for in-person dining.

Very impressed with the food my husband and I ordered. Came for lunch and I had a Sashimi lunch special that came 12 pieces+California rolls, and my husband had a sushi lunch special with 5pc tempura add on. They served us hot noodles first and there were also salad, miso soup, all very tasty. We will definitely come back for more meals

The restaurant is super quiet and they offer great quality of food with great service, and the price is expensive if you choose to order sukiyaki set (expect $80+ per person). You can choose between sushi sets at different price level or sukiyaki from the menu. This suits the need of our group given some people prefer sushi but some couldn't eat raw food. They also offer a couple of limited appetizer dishes such as tempuras and unagi don. If you booked the sukiyaki table and want to order sushi, you need to call them in advance to notify which sushi sets you want. We tried the sashimi and sushi courses at $55, which included miso soup, 5 pieces of sashimi, 8 pieces of sushi (squid, toros, salmon, scallop etc.), handroll and matcha or black sesame icecream at your choice. The sushi is smaller than average, suitable for small eaters. The course is totally worth the money. I love every piece of sashimi and my favourite sushi include the scallop and the squid. Everything was super fresh. The dessert was also having the perfect sweetness level for me. In addition, we also tried the sukiyaki for two ($110), which includes mushrooms, cabbages, great quality of Angus beef, yummy tofu and udon. Again, all the material was with great quality and super fresh. I especially liked the sweet sukiyaki soup, the tofu and the udon. We also ordered some shareable dishes including chawanmushi, unagi don and cod. Cod was cooked to perfect (soft and flavourful), and unagi don had quite decent portion. It would be better if the unagi could be softer from my personal opinion. Chawanmushi was mediocre. Overall, I strongly recommend this restaurant to fan of Japanese cuisine. It meets different people's needs by offering both cooked and raw food options, and the sushi set definitely has great value for money.

That's because every other guest was a well-known "regular" -- a very good sign. We were ushered through the tranquil restaurant and seated at the sushi bar, a zen ambience. We chose the $55 sushi+sashimi omakase lunch course, and it didn't disappoint. The eight pieces of nigiri featured a somewhat typical selection of fish (and hotate/scallop), but slightly edgy and unique in the choice of seasoning and flavours, prepared by Chef Takinami with all the pomp and ceremony and you would expect from fine omakase. The pacing was excellent, we never felt rushed from piece to piece; the wait staff were attentive as would be expected from a high-end Japanese restaurant, on par with omakases that cost three times as much. Overall, incredible value on the meal, for both the food and experience. We couldn't help but look around at what the regulars were enjoying (in addition to their omakase nigiri) -- botan ebi nigiri with deep fried shrimp heads, chawanmushi, cooked dishes featuring monk fish livers, tempura appetizers and more... some great ideas for our next visit!

You heard me, I didn't need to save money for months or really wait until it was a special occasion to make a reservation. You have the choice of a $45 or $65 lunch menu. Both my partner and I chose the $65 option and we were definitely full. Because it was Monday, we were the only ones at 11:30am and loved the experience. The restaurant did start filling up at noon, but we really enjoyed our time there. Other than the snowcrab, every single piece of sashimi and nigiri were spot on. I really don't think you can find fresh fish and such excellent service for this price. A normal meal is around $40 nowadays, so why not treat yourself a little better and come to ATO?

The appetizer was interesting, the first sushi course, Engawa was my least favorite! Never had such weird texture and crunch fish before and I did not like it at all! We were the only diners in the entire place, it was quite strange the chef wasn't much of a talker and didn't really talk much about where the fish came from, just merely the name of the fish and that's all. Other than the snow crab from Norway. They did accommodate my allergy and replaced with Cho toro which was great! Pleasantly surprised was the dessert instead of boring ice cream, it was my favorite warabimochi!

Came here pretty late at night after the dinner rush for some take out since I was in the area. Got greeted immediately by staff, it wasn't too busy on a weeknight around 9PM. The staff insisted that I take a seat and have a cup of tea while waiting for my order. My order surprisingly came out pretty quickly for my take out and was only able to take two small sips of my tea. Food here was amazing - just like their other location. Got two items: Orangeville roll 5/5 - Always my favourite. I love the filling to rice ratio and I feel like it's always packed to the brim. Always fresh! Spicy salmon roll 5/5 - A classic and I love that they fill it with so much spicy salmon in the roll vs. rice. Overall, loved the rolls here and thought it was fresh, delicious and super large in size. Can't wait to come back for more.

Also they always use one time use chopsticks, totally not environmentally friendly.
