5 Stars - Deserved and Delivered! After a fun-filled, wholesome day at Canada's Wonderland, we were craving sushi and looked up a spot nearby with great reviews. That's how we found Kin Sushi in Vaughan--and let us tell you, those 5-star reviews were absolutely on point. From the moment we stepped in, everything exceeded expectations. The taste? Incredible. Every dish was fresh, flavourful, and beautifully crafted. We tried a mix of rolls and nigiri, and each bite was better than the last. The presentation was outstanding--true culinary art on every plate. You could tell a lot of pride and precision goes into their food. And the service? Just amazing. Friendly, fast, and attentive without ever being intrusive. The staff made us feel right at home, which was the perfect way to end our long day. Whether you're coming off a day at the park or just in the mood for fantastic sushi, Kin Sushi is an absolute must-visit. We fully agree with the rave reviews--and we'll definitely be back!

I feel like I misordered based on the 5 star reviews. I would give this place a solid 4.5 stars. The place is very small. Service was quick because the cashier was literally 5 feet away. Everyone was really nice. Food was yummy. Everything was made well.

Was a nice experience. Came to try a new sushi place we haven't been to yet in the area. It was fairly busy inside but had nice pop music going. The service was beyond great and he was super friendly to us and responded quickly. We got a few rolls and the Oshi pressed sushi. I would recommend going for only the rolls because we had better Oshi pressed sushi elsewhere that's not far. Overall, loved the experience! And we got a bonus miso soup (one each, so two in total)

Kin Sushi - Unagi Don, well-presented with precisely 7pcs of grilled eel according to menu lol. C/w miso soup.

Vaughan has suddenly become a locale with various sushi options. So it only makes sense that the "Kin" of sushi has arrived! Kin Sushi is a decent new addition with creative touch & Korean inspiration including use of gochujang & purple rice! I came for a visit to their cozy restaurant space that once was Teppan Cave. The menu has unique rolls, along with donburri, pressed sushi and fresh roll / sushi / sashimi platters. The Tarantula special roll caught my eye: 8 huge pieces consisting of soft shell crab, crabmeat, avocado, unagi & purple rice. It's even plated in a circular formation along with saucy rings to resemble the roll's name. For takeout, the roll still melded many of my favourite ingredients into tasty bites. Their Unagi Don is unlike the typical bowl offered elsewhere. It's well-presented with the grilled eel topped by beautiful condiments, and came with miso soup. Food tastes better when it's a feast for the eyes too! And we happily gobbled up this portion of the meal. Takoyaki, Gyoza and Spring Rolls are also top notch in terms of flavour & crispiness. It's easy to tell when care went into each dish. But the biggest winner for me was their Spicy Chirashi Don. It's no ordinary sashimi bowl because it comes with a cup of gochujang sauce to drizzle on top. A colourful heap of salmon, tuna, yellowtail, snapper, octopus with tamago & salad works so well on rice without being overwhelmed by the sweet & spicy sauce. It's no wonder someone else said this was the best donburri they ever had! Vaughan is actually Kin Sushi's second location, opened after the success of their flagship North York restaurant. For this grand opening, there's a 20% off cash special. We received a complimentary order of gyoza for our meal. I enjoyed the restaurant's good mood, upon picking up our well-prepared good food. If you're in the area, give this one of a Kin-d sushi spot a try!

Perks of working in a plaza full of amazing restaurants, Kin Sushi is the NEWEST gem for sushi and Japanese eats! It is tucked in the corner behind our eye clinic (see photo for location). Currently doing 20% off for all takeouts paid in cash. Service is fast, my order was prepared in 10 minutes! I ordered the Unagi Don, Takoyaki, and Salmon Oshi sushi (pressed sushi). They were all SO TASTY, and the presentation is A+. I'd definitely order again. Sucks that they don't open on Mondays (which is usually when I work!). So glad Kin Sushi is in my plaza; welcome to the neighborhood ^^

Finally a decent sushi place in Vaughan!! Located right next to Hwy 400 & Vaughan Mills, easy dinner choice after your shopping haul or after a long day of work when you are too tired to cook. Ordered a party tray and a lion king roll, and extra miso soup on the house. Their rolls are so delicious that even my mom, who usually wasn't a roll fan, said that. The combination of flavor for each roll compliment each other- fresh bite, didn't confuse your palate. I have never seen take-out sushi place has such pretty and big rolls!! The sashimi was fresh and has its own sweetness, no fishy taste. Service was excellent. I arrived earlier than scheduled pickup time, they gave me a hot tea to warm up while I wait.

The whole restaurant sits about 18-20 people.

In the area and thanks for all the yelpsters for recommending this place! I don't have a picture here (dived in when it arrived and forgot) but the spicy chirashi bowl is the best. Everything else is super fresh and the rolls are expertly made with very thin layer of rice around it. Highly recommended.

    Super good food...

I ordered the dream platter and aburi Syaki oshi. I wasn't expecting it to be nicely packaged and it was a damn shame we threw them out but I almost felt like I paid for the extra nice packaging only to have it be tossed... but it does make an excellent gift for someone who really loves sushi! I wasn't expecting the gold leaf OR edible flower garnish at all. It was a very cute touch on this very snowy day. The oshi sort of fell apart everytime I picked it up which was a shame because it was nicely charred and sweet from the mango. Bit of a personal peeve but I don't think sushi should fall apart when you pick it up with a chopstick. I think it should stay in tact. Next time I'm gonna order takeout and have it delivered so I can feel like I had a nice package of sushi delivered

The Aburi Hamachi Oshi had a great char and was the standout because, honestly, blowtorched fish just wins every time. The Double Salmon Maki might look basic on paper, but it surprises me on every visit with how good it actually is. The seared butterfish in the Forbidden roll was rich and silky, and the seared scallop in The Fantasy roll was just as satisfying. No notes, just great sushi.

The moment you walk in, one detail that stood out to me was the Mahayana Buddhist altar blessing the owner and visitors with health and prosperity. As a Taiwanese person, that instantly felt relatable and oddly comforting--like being welcomed into someone's home. Although the restaurant is Vietnamese-owned, the Japanese food here is absolutely top-notch. I've visited three times so far, and the quality of their bento boxes has been impressively consistent every single time. My personal favorite is the chicken katsu bento. The chicken is incredibly fresh and flavorful. Unlike many places where chicken katsu can end up greasy or heavy, Ikigai's version is perfectly crispy and airy on the outside while staying juicy and tender inside. Paired with their tangy, addictive katsu sauce, every bite just makes you want the next one immediately. I'm also a big fan of their maki rolls and tempura. You can genuinely taste the care and quality in the food--even the side salad and miso soup feel thoughtfully prepared. Considering the quality, the prices are very reasonable, and the portions are generous. The bento box is around $20 if you pay cash, which feels like a great deal. The space itself is cozy, spotless, and welcoming, and the service has always been excellent. I genuinely love this place and will definitely keep coming back.

One highlight was the variety of torched oshizushi options, which added a nice premium touch to the usual AYCE lineup. We also really enjoyed the grilled/teppanyaki items, along with the salads (avocado, imitation crab, and seaweed all delivered). But the real standout? The desserts. The mango sago pomelo and soft serve ice cream were easily the stars of the meal--definitely LEAVE SOME ROOM for them!! The only minor downside is that the space could use a bit of a refresh, as it's starting to show its age. That said, everything was overall clean, and the service was friendly.

Fish was pretty fresh - but not on par with Vancouver's level - but price here seems very reasonable. The wasabi here was somehow underwhelming , i kept mixing and mixing and somehow didn't get a spice kick out of it. Maybe it's a skill issue, don't even know. I will probably find a chance to explore this place again in the future.

We ordered this time the Yorokobi set for 2 and upgraded the sushi to brown rice for $5 extra and upgraded the green dragon roll that came with the meal to volcano salmon roll (which is one of their popular special rolls) and paid the difference. We also added a hamachi carpaccio just for more more protein for my SO because he thinks it might not be enough, but we were left super full. I love that the sushi wasn't loaded with rice and it was thinly included, we did mention that we usually don't like that much and the server said they can even adjust the rice content in the sushi.... We didn't confirm to adjust it but perhaps they went with it because rice is perfectly thin in the maki and less than usual for a nigiri, which is great because otherwise I don't know if we would have finished the meal. $5 to upgrade to brown rice for the sushi set that didn't have that much rice is still IMO a bit steep. Other that, the sushi is fresh, the special rolls are eye catching and tasty and the hamachi carpaccio was good too, LOVE the presentation. I think the best thing here is still their special rolls though! Server is so personable and made sure we were well taken care of. Only feedback I have here is the miso soup that with the Yorokobi set is way too salty I couldn't finish mine after a sip. Ambiance was clean with little Japanese decor throughout. They have a huge parking lot at the back and you can enter and exit from the back instead of trying the front as there is very little parking in the front lot.

The fish is as fresh as you're going to get in Toronto (given that we are far from the ocean). Sashimi is expertly prepared. Thickly sliced. The torched butterfish was sublime. This was a slightly rough accompaniment to the sashimi.
