My brother and I had a fantastic lunch here today so I thought it was time to leave a review. We had Edamame, Miso, Chicken Teriyaki, Sashimi and Tempura. Everything was fresh and delicious and the staff are so friendly!!! We enjoyed the old Heritage House and the warmth of the inviting fireplace. I've tried all the local sushi joints in Pitt Meadows, and this one is the best. It may not be the cheapest, but the sushi is always fresh and tastes great. That's something that cannot be said for the other sushi shops in town. They have a number of fantastic specialty rolls, too many to list. I normally just do take out, but the restaurant itself has a very nice atmosphere inside. Its an old heritage building. The service is always top notch, and everyone working there is very friendly. read more

This is one of my favorite sushi places in town. I often come here for takeout, but also love coming in and sitting in the very cute heritage house for dinner. The food is always fresh and the service is always great. Sometimes you may have to wait a little bit for your food, but believe me it's worth the the wait . We were sat outside and then they forgot we were there for 45 minutes but when we finally got our food it was good

Quality is on the low end for sushi grade. The serving is super slow. We ordered drinks and and food which all came at the same time 45 mins later. Not to mention they have one bathroom for men and women.... Nice patio set up though... lol Would recommend Kabuki just up harris rd. They have excellent quality and good staff. read more

We took a chance on this place out of curiosity while driving by and were pleasantly impressed! It's located in an old heritage house, which could use a decor update but it adds to the experience. There are not many seats, it's family run, and the food is exceptional. It's not expensive and the service was quick while we were there. This sushi restaurant is located in a heritage home that was one of the original farmhouses in the area. It was relocated to its present location after being donated to the city and now houses the one of the more interesting aesthetic fusion combinations I've experienced in a sushi restaurant. I had the tuna tataki, boston roll, miso soup and unagi nigiri; my friend had a few rolls and a seaweed salad. Overall good-average preparation and presentation, fresh fish, a few interesting fancy rolls, and decent service. They also offer the option of brown rice on any of their rolls, which is something I greatly appreciate. The only complaint was that my friend's seaweed salad was a bit on the frozen side. Would not hesitate to come again, and if I was reviewing this place for Pitt Meadows standards, maybe I would do 4 stars. Our lunch for two was about $47 before tip, though it would probably have been cheaper if we got one of the lunch box specials, neither of us really ordered an excessive amount. read more

Sushi, gyoza were good. Shrimp tempura was ok. Tried a wrap with crab, spicy mayo, rice, avocado inside a lettuce wrap and it was ok. Nice atmosphere inside a little house setting,also had patio seating as well. Prices were fair. Overall it was good. read more

This is a great place for a takeout sushi. I like the food and fish always seems fresh. We always had a nice service and cooks are friendly too. Reason I didn't give 5 stars: interior of the restaurant is shabby and looks weird for Japanese restaurant. Prices are on a higher side (comparing to sushi restaurants around this area). I was passing through on my way to a camping trip and had a last minute sushi craving. This place was the answer. I had 3 different rolls and and all where very well made and just the right size. I really enjoyed the spicy tuna roll with just the right about of spicy sauce on top of the roll. The price was on the high side of moderate hut honestly I'd rather spend an extra 3-4 dollars to get the quality this place delivered. read more

I've heard about this place and finally decided to try it. It's in an old heritage home which I found a little weird. The setting just didn't seem to fit Japanese cuisine, both outside and in. But I tried to stay open-minded. The one and only staff member I saw during my visit was a waitress. It's the first time I have ever been served by a non-Asian server in a sushi restaurant which was also weird. Not bad, just different. The menu had a decent variety... not quite what I would call "contemporary" or "modern" sushi, but not completely old school either. Lots of what I would consider to be standard fare, but also some rolls that were unique. I settled on the Tiger Roll, which turned out to be really good. The only drawback with it was that it was cut really unevenly. Some pieces were so thin they fell apart as soon as I picked them up. Others were so thick I had to eat them in three or four bites. Still very tasty though. Also had ebi sunomono which I must say had a base that distinct from any other sunomono I've had elsewhere. Very good and a refreshing but not overwhelming change. The decor and setting didn't catch me but the food did. I would eat here again. (Plus, for Pokemon Go players, it has a Pokestop,plus a couple more within steps of it.) read more

My go to in Pitt Meadows. Run in an old heritage home. The staff are always so nice and the food is quite good and certainly one of the best with so many sushi places in such a small town. The restaurant is rather small with 6 tables or so on the main floor but with private rooms upstairs for larger groups or in the summer when it becomes quite popular. However when you are seated upstairs quality of service becomes lacking. read more

We have ordered from here numerous times over the last 8 yrs and its always up & down in quality. I have to give them 2 stars after last nights experience. (Would have only given 2.75 before last night). I had friends over for dinner & 3/4 of us agreed on Akasaka as its close & usually quick. My one friend is highly allergic to seafood so he is afraid & never goes for Japanese. I told him not to worry & try the beef teriyaki. When I placed the order I made it very clear repeating that he is allergic to all fish including shell fish so if the dinner box was coming with a roll or surprise (they usually send a little extra some'n) to put in a separate container. We picked up, all sat down to eat, he almost dug in then smelt it. A big piece of prawn tempura mixed in. I called, she puts me on hold to yell at her mom then says 'there's none in the teriyaki' Umm.. Highly allergic. He can't eat it if it's in the same container touching. "Come now" she says. Another friend was nice enough to run over there to end up waiting.. Given the bag, walks out, thinks to herself it seems light, checks it & they remade only the tempura No teriyaki. She goes back in & asks what about the main meal... 'You just had prawn in the tempura'. Ugh. So she had to wait around for them to remake. It was a terrible & embarrassing dinner party experience. But even worse we weren't offered much of an apology and no credit. I have family members that own/work in the restaurant biz & even for less issues they wave the cost of the one meal if not the total bill. I'm not out for a free meal, I just don't want to be responsible for killing my friend. And thought the restaurant would be on the same page. read more
