First time trying, we only ordered the crazy girl roll via delivery, so this review may not be a fair representation of the establishment Taste 1/1* Although it was a fried California roll, it some how tasted pleasantly fresh...? Value 0/1* For what's basically a fried California roll with cream cheese, $12.36 is pretty expensive imo Speed 1/1* Order was received on time Presentation 1/1* Delivered well, presentation on point, always appreciate being able to eat with eyes first Overall/Revisit 1/1* Yes would revisit to try more dishes Above and beyond? 0/+1*

This little hidden gem was well hidden. For such a small shop, it was really popular. We had arrived around 1PM. Ordered and found that throughout the hour that we were there eating, customers kept coming in. With only 1 waitress at the time, service was obviously a bit lacking. Not going to hold that against them. The food: They have the typical Japanese fare. But they also included a fusion items like Korean fried chicken and fusion arancinis (rice balls). Being a Korean run Japanese restaurant, it was good. It was a bit more expensive then Sushi Town but with quite a extensive menu and variety there was something for everyone. If I was ever in the area I'd go back and try some of their fusion items for sure!

We came to this restaurant per our friend's recommendation. The food prices were very reasonable and food was fine. I had rainbow roll ($9.50) and deep fried rice balls ($5.95). My partner had combination dinner A which came with 2 shrimp tempura, chicken teriyaki yakisoba, and 3 nigiri ( salmon, tuna, ebi), and miso soup ($14.95). The setting was pleasant and comfortable. I find many Japanese restaurants are owned by Korean, and this place as well. They had many varieties of sushi rolls in the menu, but I didn't see much choice of fish. Overall experience with prices, I would say 4 stars :)

Neat little sushi place tucked away in a sleepy neighbourhood in Coquitlam. I'd definitely miss it if I didn't look for it online. Service was prompt and we were seated quickly. Clear menus and easy to make selections. Clear interior that isn't overly cluttered. We ordered a Dinner For 2 combo, and a sleeve of Asahi on special. The food here is very tasty. The salad greens and fish are very fresh, and the chicken udon is flavorful and not overly salty like other places. Portion size was OK, for the price I expected a bit more. I was disappointed with how small the shrimp tempura came out to be. The Asahi on tap was excellent though - unbeatable price for imported Japanese beer. Would be quite interested in coming back.

The restaurant is spacious and cozy. For each table there is a tablet for ordering. I ordered a Soy Chicken Karaage Donburi as it looked delicious on the menu pics. The rice bowl came with miso soup. The donburi looked good with sufficient portion for a strong man. It was tasty, however as I kept eating the soy chicken karaage got more and more salty. Finally I couldn't have anymore. I finished the rice and it was well cooked. I drank two cups of tea after having the donburi. I didn't try other dishes, perhaps I will give them a try when I come here next time. I do hope the chef could make it less salty. Apart from that, service was fine and the ambient was quiet and tidy.

We shared a combo which was delicious - the BC roll was definitely a wonderful surprise and the fish was just so fresh! Here's one the daughter and I tried and enjoyed at Mega Sushi back in late-November, that really provided a "wow" factor to our dining experience. Mega Sushi's -- 'Mega special bento box B' -- a first time experience for each of us. A large, colourful, variety of well-presented and prepared ingredients -- on the tray - selections of sushi, sashimi, tempura, rolls, salad, and condiments, and off the tray - miso soup, sunomono, and hot tea. A feast of flavours and tastes we sure enjoyed. Daughter and I each had this box, but found out from the experience, that we could have ordered the one box, and shared. But absolutely no regrets, I had some wonderful leftovers come home with me, and sure enjoyed the additional tastes later. From this, and past experiences, I can truly say, Mega Sushi really prepares some tasty bento boxes. sometimes the best dinners are the ones you don't plan…read more our party of five ended up at mika sushi on a saturday for an impromptu dinner and a chance to catch up. the restaurant was lively without feeling chaotic, with a bright, modern dining room, high ceilings, warm wood finishes, comfortable booths, and an open sushi bar where you can catch glimpses of the chefs at work. it felt casual, welcoming, and easy to settle into for a relaxed evening. the hardest part wasn't finding a table...it was deciding what to order. the menu is extensive, with pictures of a variety of sushi, sashimi, specialty rolls, bentos, noodles, donburi, and plenty of vegan friendly options. i spent far longer than i'd like to admit staring at the menu before finally ordering the "my favourite combo." for $24.95, you get to choose four items, which turned out to be a great value. i went with the tuna sashimi, salmon sashimi, dynamite roll, and a negitoro cone. my order initially came out with negitoro maki instead of the cone, but it was quickly corrected with an apology, which i appreciated. everything arrived looking fresh and nicely presented. the tuna and salmon sashimi were thickly sliced, buttery, and fresh, exactly what i was hoping for. the negitoro cone was generously filled with chopped tuna and green onions, and the nori still had a nice crisp snap to it. the dynamite roll was probably my least favourite of the four. i was surprised to find a slightly soggy piece of yam tempura tucked in with the prawn tempura, crab, and avocado. i'm not sure if that's normally part of the roll or if it was added by mistake, but it wasn't something i was expecting from a dynamite roll. i also would have liked the prawn tempura to be crispier. it was missing that satisfying crunch you'd normally expect from a dynamite roll. it wasn't a deal breaker, and i didn't mention it to our server, but it just wasn't the standout dish for me. one thing i appreciated was that the portions were generous without being over the top. i left feeling comfortably full and never once questioned whether the combo was worth the price. with such a large menu, there's something for just about everyone, including plenty of vegan friendly options, making it an easy place to bring a group with different tastes. unlike some japanese restaurants where everyone shares dishes, mika sushi feels more like a place where each person orders exactly what they're craving. between the fresh sashimi, generous portions, reasonable prices, and relaxed atmosphere, mika sushi delivered exactly what we were looking for that evening. was every bite perfect? not quite. but the food was fresh, the value was excellent, and spending a few hours catching up with family made it a night well spent. sometimes the best dinners really are the ones you don't plan.
