Good flavors, small portions and slow service. The server was not knowledgeable. Small sushi bar forced us into a booth and despite the lack of customers, we still had to wait 15 minutes for our drinks. Expensive. read more

We still love Aki Sushi and are here any time we are in the mood for Japanese the owners Mike and Michael are wonderful. The food is authentic and wonderful. I ordered to sushi rolls to go, rainbow roll and naruto roll. Naruto roll was saturated with cucumber juice (it was wrapped in the cucumber) so the whole roll was swimming in liquid. Both rolls had raw fish that tasted old (lacked the bounce and shine of the fresh fish). Small portions and flavorless. For few extra dollars you can get much better sushi else where (I just have to find the right place... just moved to the neighborhood). I wouldn't recommend going here unless you just was something to fill you stomach. read more

This is one of the best hidden gems in Ocala. This has become our favorite sushi place to go. The food is always excellent and the staff are so warm and welcoming. Freshness of sushi is mediocre but the price is right. The Bento box lunch comes with soup, salad and your entrée, California roll and Gyoza. I never eat the soup or salad so I told them I did not need it but I would however prefer a tuna avocado roll instead of the California roll... They were still going to charge me extra for getting tuna. I think that is very stingy and not good business I'm sure you made the two dollars back by me holding the soup or salad from my lunch. This is the best sushi in the Ocala area. The atmosphere is always so pleasant and relaxed... It feels like a small sushi bar in a Japanese city like Yokosuka, on Dobuita Street. Always quality fresh ingredients, sit at the bar to watch the master create edible art and get a close view of the fresh fish. Sitting at the bar, a foot and a half away from the prep table and you won't smell any fishy scents, a must for any top sushi joint. Best bang for your buck if you're craving Japanese food. Way too expensive for the quality of sushi. Staff is not Japanese. Per their own menu, they use krabmeat instead of authentic crab which throws off the taste. Ordered the Futomaki which means big roll and is supposed to be at least 2 inches in diameter. Theirs was the size of a normal roll. Really disappointed. read more

Aki Sushi has always been one of our favorite places to eat. Their miso is particularly tasty, as are their various sushi rolls. The salmon has always been our favorite, though. The atmosphere is cozy, it's clean, and the staff has always been very friendly. You can choose table or bar seating, where you can watch as your food is being prepared. Very good portion of food for the price! I got a shrimp tempura bento box and they included everything, rice, ginger salad, miso soup, cali rolls and gyoza! After reading the other reviews on Yelp, my wife and I decided to try this place. Our server Jesse was pleasing to the eye and had a great smile. The atmosphere is very casual, in fact a little too bright for me but very clean. We started with edamame and sake. They had buy 2 large saki and get one free. Of course we went for this who wouldn't. We ordered 2 rolls and 6 pcs of sushi. Normally this would fill the both of us but the rolls, as stated by other Yelpers, are on the smaller size. This is good and bad and here's why...The rolls were perfectly made and really were the perfect bite size full of flavor. I don't like a roll that totally fills your mouth and you can't chew without puffy cheeks, so these were perfect. The problem is, we were still hungry after our initial order. By now 2 large sake's were down and one to go! We ordered the sashimi roll, because I have never had a roll without rice and this roll was all fish...WOW! Really the best tasting roll I have had anywhere. After finishing this roll we were good to go and very impressed indeed. We finished off the last saki, and received the bill. For 3 rolls, edamame, 3 lg sake and 6 pcs of sushi, the check was $62.00. Not bad for the smaller portions, but good quality sushi. The only thing I can criticize would be the floor. It feels as if you are having dinner in the winners circle of a Nascar race. The black and white checkered floor is a little much, but that's me. I would highly recommend this place, especially if you like watching Nascar, lol, but even if you don't, you will love the friendly staff, the quality of the food and the great deal on sake, burp. read more

I went here today with a couple of friends. We went at around 6pm and we were the only customers in there, the restaurant had an interesting mix of Japanese/ New York diner feel. The waitress was really nice and pretty attentive (although we were her only customers). We had a Godzilla roll which was pretty good, the Black Dragon roll which was absolutely delicious. a spicy tuna roll and a Tokoyo roll. the spicy tuna and tokoyo were both cheaper rolls (about 5 dollars each) and weren't as good as the other two which were about 10 dollars each. However all of it was good but not the best sushi i ever had, however, for 30 bucks we had four rolls of sushi which all tasted very good. I would definitely recommend this to anybody in the area that wants good sushi. read more

Horrible experience. We ordered delivery and an hour and a half later we received less than half of our order. Once we called and explained we were missing almost everything they sent the rest of the order and the driver tried to force us to pay for everything all over again. Now that we finally had our full order almost two and a half hours later we found that everything was cold. Every time we go in to eat or order delivery, it's great! We always order sushi and California rolls, we've never had any problems. My only complaint is that when I ask for a side of spicy mayo, they give a small cup of it. The staff is always nice and genuine, they make us feel like family. Ok food. I have an appointment next-door so ran over to get a couple sushi rolls. It was around 3 o'clock in the afternoon and there were no customers there, which isn't unusual for 3 o'clock in the afternoon. My problem lies after I ordered my food and sat to wait I started looking at the facility. I saw two people working one was making my food not sure what the other person was doing, or what their job entailed. But the floor was filthy there was one table that still had food on it. I use the restroom it was very dirty. I can understand if they were busy and they haven't gotten a chance to sweep or mop yet but the entire time I was there (about 20 minutes ) no one address this. The food was fine for what it was but I was disappointed in the facility itself. read more

Best sushi you can find in or around Ocala and not too expensive. Everything here is fresh and has a lot of flavor to it.

Over rated food, average service, and not the cleanest place. In the times I've eaten here I've seen a good share of cockroaches so I don't think I will be coming back here. Yikes. read more
