This place was amazing! I wish we had this place where I live! The service was amazing the lady was soo nice and made you feel like you were home. The food was so good and flavorful! I love how they give you wonton chips and sauce the prices were really good for quality and portions! The music and decor and the little sauce dishes that hold the soy sauce make this place even more unique. Very clean and had a lot of variety and very pleasant if I lived there I would be a regular. Def should go try this place out!

We are working our way through the sushi restaurants in Ocala. We really enjoyed our dinner tonight at Ninja. The fish was very fresh, the service was attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere was a little on the quiet/dull side but clean and comfortable. We ordered sushi pizza with white tuna, dinosaur eggs, lotus flower and cucumber wrapped sushi roll (forget the name)

This is our second time here. We were late arriving but the staff had zero problems feeding us (and feeding us well!) we had hibachi this time and red curry. The hibachi steak was cooked to perfection and the food was delicious. Service was on point and the restaurant (and bathrooms) were super clean. We really enjoy this place!

A friend and I stopped here while we were in town for a late lunch! The food and service were excellent! For starters, not pictured was the pork gyoza steamed and edamame. For entrees I had the Maki B sushi combo which was delicious and included tuna, yellowtail, and California roll. My combo came with a side salad and miso soup. My friend had the tofu pad Thai which she said was very good! The ambiance was chill and cute. Overall, great experience! I would definitely recommend checking them out!

I created this roll and Joy was nice enough to put it on the menu. I am a little biased but I feel it's the perfect roll. It's a meal. Protein, Vegetable, Salad, Fruit, Spice all in one. Plus I think I should get a Dollar every time they sell one!!!

How about some really different kinds of sushi? This place had a unique menu that is sure to please everyone. We got four different rolls, pad Thai and the fried calamari. One roll was a Kobe beef, a Mexican roll, one called Selmon? and another I can't remember the name. All the food was delicious though the calamari was a little tough. Great place for eating in or taking out.

This hidden gem in Ocala has become one of our favorite sushi spots. They are always friendly when entering and do their best to seat us as quickly as possible. The location is very small so on busy evenings you may wait a short bit for a table. My boyfriend and I decided to stop in after a long day of errands and shopping. This was his first visit as I had eaten here before, and he was very impressed with everything we ordered. One thing that sets them apart is that they bring out fried won ton "chips" with a fantastic dip as a complementary appetizer while you wait for your order. My boyfriend loved these so much he asked if we could have a second basket which they cheerfully brought us. We ordered the Ninja roll, Super Mario roll, Silver Springs roll and a Kobe roll. All our rolls tasted fresh and uniquely flavored. Our favorites were the Ninja and Kobe. They also were offering Sea Urchin Sashimi. My boyfriend splurged and ordered one piece to try. I wasn't feeling brave enough but he said it was pretty good. We enjoyed our dining experience and will be returning. Prices were decent for sushi with our most expensive one being the Ninja roll at $19. But this roll had king crab and lobster in it so we felt it was priced well according to how elaborate it was. We highly recommend if you are in the area that you give Ninja Sushi and Thai a try.

Ben's parents stumbled across this find while our checking out their new town of Ocala and they love it. Accidental finds can be the best. We started off with a order of the calamari, which was good but small in size. Given the price point, it is fitting for the amount though so if there are a few people, you may want to order 2 or get another appetizer to go along with it. Ben's mom went for the Dollar Bill Roll that she discovered she loves and I have to say the size of the fish pieces in this roll are huge. The roll itself is large in size and I joked with her that there was no way she could eat a piece in one bite. I got the Ninja Special Roll that has fried king crab and lobster and mine was good, could use more crab and lobster though. Ben got the Dynamite and the King Crab Roll, on the king crab they have lettuce in it which is listed BUT the amount of lettuce was way too much and Ben only ate about 4 pieces because it was just way off on taste and texture for sushi. For $15.00 that is really not good that 3 sushi lovers all said the same thing and wouldn't continue to eat it. Our server was young and I am hoping that he was just learning the ropes as when they brought out the A La Carte sushi Ben's mom wanted he immediately asked us if we wanted our bill and boxes. All 3 of us still had our rolls in front of us and he just brought out more food to us. We agreed and started to pack up our stuff. The places wasn't busy so we weren't sure what the rush was.

Edo Sushi & Japanese Steakhouse -- A Missed Opportunity for Authenticity…read more Edo Sushi & Japanese Steakhouse lands at 2 out of 5 stars, and honestly, that feels generous only because the service itself was perfectly fine. The team was polite and efficient, but the overall experience leans far closer to Japanese fast food than the immersive Asian dining atmosphere the name suggests. The biggest disappointment came from the stir‑fried noodles. The flavor told the whole story: it tasted like a massive batch had been pre‑cooked earlier in the day, with staff simply tossing in more noodles as orders came in. The result was bland, under‑seasoned, and lacking the freshness you expect from a hibachi‑style dish. Even worse, the protein portion was minimal -- in my case, the chicken felt more like an afterthought than a feature of the meal. For a restaurant positioned as a Japanese steakhouse, the experience should feel intentional, flavorful, and crafted to order. Instead, it felt rushed, generic, and disconnected from the quality you'd expect at this price point. There's potential here, but until the kitchen elevates its approach and embraces true made‑to‑order cooking, Edo Sushi & Japanese Steakhouse will continue to feel like a fast‑food interpretation of what should be a richer, more authentic dining experience.

We've been searching for a place that consistently delivers quality, and unfortunately, this wasn't it. I ordered my usual volcano roll along with another house roll, while my son chose two different house rolls. The restaurant being a bit busy gave me some hope, but that didn't translate to the food. The volcano roll was a letdown from the first bite. The second roll was slightly better, but still nothing I'd go back for. My son enjoyed his meal, though his standards are a bit more forgiving than mine. One noticeable issue was the rice--there was so little of it that the nori was visible through the roll. Rice is the most basic and cost-effective ingredient, and skimping on it made the rolls feel lacking in both substance and balance. Overall, I wasn't impressed with the food. The presentation was solid, but that alone isn't enough to carry the experience. Service and ambiance were decent, but not standout. 2 out of 5 stars. TTFN

There must've been 7-8 tables occupied while we were eating lunch but service was efficient. My wife, always eager to try new things, ordered the Tofu Teriyaki bento with fried gyoza instead of shrimp shumai (shellfish allergies). She also ordered an Alaska roll. I opted for the Hibachi Combo of steak and shrimp. I also ordered a Spicy Tuna roll. Upon tasting the tofu teriyaki, my wife's eyes got big and said OMG! She was wowed by the flavors! She thinks, for that dish alone, Akita deserves 5 stars! So here I am updating my review. Perhaps my wife will keep on ordering this dish for our future visits.

For under ten bucks, you get sushi, soup, and a moment of peace -- that's already a win in this economy. The flavor was solid, ingredients were fresh, but the rolls themselves were a bit on the fun-sized side. A little more rice wouldn't hurt -- not asking for sumo rolls, just something more substantial than a sushi suggestion. Service was quick, friendly, and didn't involve anyone saying "we're out of that," which in itself is a minor miracle these days. Bottom line: Aki Sushi won't blow your mind, but it won't break your wallet either. Great for a quick fix when you're craving sushi and a break from adulting.
