The selection is always so different and the store is full of statement items. The girls have been very helpful and friendly and if I really need something for an event, they'll help until you get something you like. Shopping at Akira is actually fun. Only getting 1 star because you have to give it something. This store actually sucks. The clothes are crazy expensive and break after like two uses. They even sell broken clothes!! After realizing I would never be able to afford clothes from there. I debated buying a clear bag for a concert. It was expensive so I decided to ask what the return policy was and they told me I had seven days to return it. Then when I went to return it because I found a purse much cheaper they told me that all accessories are final sale. Maybe next time YOUR employees know that before selling to customers. I WISH I could give this dump zero stars. I was NYE dress shopping and ended up buying a dress. I left the store with my receipt but was *NEVER* told I couldn't return. I went to another store and found a different dress I liked better so I went to return the one I bought at Akira. They refused to give me a full refund and instead told me I could only get store credit. The dress was still in the bag and I had only gotten it 15 mins earlier. Stopped in Akira today to find a dress for an upcoming wedding. SUMMER was amazing.. she was so kind and helpful. She kept pulling different dresses, shoes, and accessories for me. What an amazing shopping experience I had! Three days ago... I visited Akira in Orland Park looking for a birthday outfit. In my search, Bryanna (Store Manager) approached me with not only a bright smile but stellar service. She inquired what brought me into Akira, I shared and we both were on a hunt for something Haute with an"edge". I came upon a "Floka" white Jumpsuit however the store didn't have my size. Bryanna convicted me to try on the size small to get an idea if I'd even like the style.... I FELL IN LOVE WITH THE JUMPSUIT!!!! I clearly needed a size large.... Bryanna contacted the State Street location which is 40 miles one way...She took my cell phone number... Located item, drove to location in rush hour traffic, picked up item and contacts me stating she retrieved item and will place on hold in Orland for me to pick up next day. My boyfriend picked up my jumpsuit, I tried it on and it fits like a glove!!! ! Bryanna, is the epitome of Customer Service... From this experience... Akira has a new customer for Life! The manager at the Orland Square Mall location is very rude and disrespectful towards the customer. Not sure why she had a very nasty attitude. I'd hate it be because we were African American and she was not. I do not recommend going to this location unless she is no longer working there. read more

This place is a ZOO. Very messy and not help. Trendy clothes but terrible customer service especially at checkout and management, I frequented this store from 2013-2017 on weekly basis. The staff was friendly and helpful but the store was very messy. The tables with folded items just looked like a pile of laundry ready for the washing machine. It's a fun place until the security guard singles you out for no reason. I came in carrying a small LV clutch and wearing a transparent jacket, so there was no reason to be suspicious. It just ruined the entire brand for me. This was in June. The clothes are trendy, but the staff either ignore you or won't leave you alone. The clothing has a wide range in terms of taste-level, but once you sift through it you can find some really great unique pieces. Wish I could give them 10 stars!!! Had the most AMAZING experience shopping for my birthday party. Summer, Bianca, and Monica are so helpful. Me and my bestie had no idea what we wanted to wear, they were so patient and helpful. I especially appreciated the honesty if something didn't work or look right. I would personally recommend coming here for any special event or just because you wanna shop. FYI: They didn't even rush us when they were technically closed, just kept helping. I love akira and shop at the downtown location often. Also the Naperville one has amazing staff. The clothing is a hit or miss with the quality. But overall they keep up with the trends and I always find something I like. They also have great sales on the shoes. Now I'm writing this review based on the staff at this location. I stop in here every time I'm at the mall and there are select few employees who are great and know customer service. The rest I think just come here to hang out and have personal conversations with they're coworkers and are annoyed when you interrupt their conversation about their weekend plans to try and get some help. They are extremely unprofessional! On my last visit I was buying a pair of boots and they set them down behind the counter until it's your turn in line. First they skipped me twice by telling me I had to wait so after being cut off twice I just walked up to the counter to a girl who wasn't with a customer and told her I was just purchasing the boots right behind her. She then looked up at me and said "don't you see I'm on the phone, you need to step back in line until you're called up!" I was in such shock I didn't even know what to say to that! You have a customer service job you are a retail sales associate! How unprofessional! They should really reconsider the employees they hire at this location.
