Purchased my granddaughters prom dress here. The staff was very professional and accommodating.

The worst customer service experience I've ever experienced. I went here in April to get my daughters bridesmaid dress for my sisters wedding in June. They said it would be here by June 7th which was kind of late because the wedding is June 13. I call back and ask them again a couple of weeks later seeing if it changed, they said May 30th. So may 30th comes around, I call them ask if it's there and they said no it's not coming till the 12. I ask them if there's anything they could do about it and they said they will try. I call corporate to see if they could do anything, they can't and ive been in hold with them for 40+ minutes before I have them call back. They call back 4 hours later not being able to help me. I call the store today (6-2) asking if there was any news, earlier it sounded very promising and she took my number to call me back. 2 hours go by and no call so I call them back at 7:00 (they close at 7:30) and they kept putting me on hold and then hung up on me after waiting the 35 minutes to ask the question. Never again going to David's bridal for anything. This isn't the first time David's royally screwed me over. read more

Im writing to express my dissatisfaction with my experience at your store. In November, I was informed that a down payment for a wedding dress would be fully refundable. Based on that understanding, I proceeded with the payment. Approximately two weeks later, I contacted the store to cancel and was assured that issuing a refund would not be a problem and that a check would be mailed. In December, after not receiving anything, I was told there were delays due to the holidays and advised to follow up in January. When I called in January, a manager stated she would investigate the matter and follow up with me, indicating that the check should have already been sent. Unfortunately, I never received a return call. Since then, I have contacted the store multiple times, only to be placed on hold for extended periods--often up to 45 minutes--before being told again that the check has been mailed. It has now been four months, and I have neither received the refund nor a clear resolution. This level of service is unacceptable and has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. read more

My two daughters and I had a great experience buying a dress and veil on 12/23/24 for one daughter's upcoming wedding. Chaqera was very patient and helpful, as was Suzanna, in helping my daughter find the perfect dress out of their big selection. She was very happy, and so was I as the payer, as David's is so much more reasonably priced than other dress shops and chains (for the same designer dresses!). Everything was top-notch, from the organization and cleanliness of the store to the dress selection process, to checkout (thank you to Paula). All the staff seemed genuinely interested in helping. Overall just a horrible experience. The location is pretty run down. Not clean, the carpets are gross and it has a bad smell when you walk in. My friend's wedding was supposed to be September 21st. She decided to cancel her wedding a week before it was supposed to happen. The dress I got was normal size and no alterations done to it. I never wore it, only put it on to make sure it fit once it arrived. It had been sitting in the same bag I picked it up in, with tags intact, and I also had my receipt from my purchase. You think making a return would be easy, but it was the worst experience I've ever had. I brought the dress in with my receipt and asked to make a return. The manger at the time didn't seem like she would be helpful and I was correct. She sounded like she was reading right out of a handbook they give employees for training purposes. She told me since I was past the 30 day return window she couldn't accept the return. I do understand that stores have return policies, but she didn't even seem like she wanted to help me with my situation. She told me I was so far past the return window there wasn't anything she could do to help. Then continued with "I'm not even supposed to do this but you can make an exchange for something of equal value so you're not stuck with a dress." I'm already married and have no weddings coming up. I didn't want to exchange it for cheap shoes and jewelry. It's not like it was $40, it was $120. She made it seem like she was "helping", but really had no intention of helping me. All she kept saying was "I hear you and I understand." I then brought up when I went to try on bridesmaid dresses at her location, half of them had broken zippers, rips, tears, and sleeves falling of her dresses. I asked how she was ok selling those but didn't want to accept a brand new dress as a return and try and sell it. She told me that the dresses that had broken zippers, rips, tears and sleeves falling off would be sold at a discounted price to her customers. So if you're looking for crappy dresses this is the location for you! She told me her hands were tied and she couldn't do anything about a return and it's not up to her. So I contacted customer service and got told that the store could in fact waive a 30 day return fee if they wanted. When I called back and asked the store about it I was told that "it's just customer service, it's not corporate, and it's just an online chat." Which leaves me more confused because isn't the point of costumer service to help the customers? Why would customer service lie about being able to waive a return? I was also the one who had to keep calling and asking for an update. Horrible communication skills. Stay away if you can, get your dresses online, I've had much better experiences online shopping for dresses than I've had at David's Bridal. read more

I would highly suggest you do not put a down payment on a dress unless you are 100%. I have been waiting since the middle of April for my deposit. I have called the store over 10 times and have spoken with multiple people who claim they are helping me but nothing has gotten accomplished. This includes the store manager, who was supposed to call me back twice and has yet to do so. Reaching out to corporate is a joke. Only option is texting and they referred me back to the store. I tried a chat and they never got back to me. My call today resulted in being put on hold for an extended period of time and the person never coming back to the phone. This has been a huge disappointment and extremely unprofessional as a long standing business!!! read more

The worst customer service/problem resolution ever, BUYER BEWARE!! My wedding date is May 2nd. I ordered and paid for a dress 3/23/25. I was told the dress would be rush ordered to arrive in time for alterations and my wedding date. The same day I bought the dress I was scheduled for an alteration appointment for today, 4/5/2025. I also received an email about the alteration appointment and a call last night to confirm the appointment. I arrived on time for my alteration appointment and the staff told me the dress wasn't ordered at all and the cashier that rang the dress up (Paulina D) rang it up incorrectly. The staff is now saying the dress will not make it from the warehouse in time for my wedding, it will arrive weeks late. The staff is so unhelpful with figuring out any solution for their mistake!!! I've asked for them to rush order a dress from the warehouse and they are acting like that's not an option. I've asked for the store manager's name and everyone is clueless. Their only resolution was to give me the dirty off the shelf dress that's sizes too big and half off alterations. This is unacceptable and a shame that this place is still in business!!! read more

I visited David Bridal in Orland Park, IL to purchase my wedding dress as of December 10, 2024. I was told that my dress would be ordered and it would come into the store by the end of January.  I received an email and a text stating that my wedding dress was ready for pick up on December 23, 2024 and if it wasn't picked up in 14 days that it would be considered abandoned. So I went into the store on 1/10/25  around 5pm to pick up my dress. I was told that the data basis system was not working properly and that my dress hadn't made it to the store yet. I was told that I should wait on a call to pick up the dress. So time passed and I noticed that I haven't received a call yet. On Saturday January 25, 2025 I contacted David's Bridal in Orland about an update on my dress at 11:41 am. I was told that my dress had been picked up, I then asked how was it picked up when i am calling about an update on my dress then be placed on hold for an additional 15 mins. The young then stated "oh your been here"! I stated why I wasn't notified and she then stated "I don't know why". I asked when I could pick up the dress she stated whenever you are ready because it's here. I said thank you! I'll just pick it up tomorrow. On the next day around 4:05pm on January 26, 2025 I entered David's Bridal and I was asked by a new associate how she could help me. I then let her know that I was there to pick up my wedding dress. She asked me my name. I told her and spelled it out and she then stated she couldn't find my name. She stepped away looking confused and walked over to the cashiers. Then she returned to the kiosk, just to ask me my name again then my phone number. I then let her know that I called the day before and I was told my wedding dress was there. The young lady left the kiosk again stating she needs to speak to her manager all while making different facial expressions. I believe that the young lady asked the manager to step over to the kiosk.At this point I have been patiently waiting. The young lady then walked away to find the dress and went behind the cashier to look in a closet where other dresses were stored. The dress was never found. I never received an apology or was even given an update about what's going on. The manager never came to see about the issue/ concern so now I'm getting frustrated . The young lady directed me over to the cashiers line so I could speak to the manager. I then saw a consultant who helped me pick my wedding dress. I walked over and told her "you know they can't find my wedding dress". She then said give her one minute so she can go get the wedding dress. She came back with it. The young lady at the kiosk then hands me my dress and tells me I'm good to go. I let her know I wanted to try my dress on. At this point I'm livid because how are you just going to hand me a dress and tell me I'm good. I also had to remind her that I purchased a garment bag. She then tries to put my dress in a plastic david's bridal bag.  I told her I wanted to try it on and she escorted me and party to the back dressing room to put on the dress. I let her know that I would need assistance putting my dress on and she then walked away after hanging my dress up in the dressing room. I'm furious and can't believe that I am having this kind of experience being a first time bride. So then I called my friend to help me get in the dress but before I could put it on . I looked at the dress. It was extremely nasty/ dirty, the zipper didn't work, the seam came apart, the beading was off the dress, and applique was hanging off the dress. I immediately walked back to the front where the cashier was and they noticed the frustration on my face. Someone then spoke and said everything is okay. I stated no. As I waited on the line to go down. Before I could reach the cashier the consultant came up and said what's wrong I told her to look at the dress. I don't understand how an ordered dress came into the store like that. I was expecting a brand new dress not used and heavily worn. Horrible experience Sam and her whole team are the worst! My wedding is April 20th and they decide to tell me less than 3 weeks before my wedding that one of my bridesmaid dresses not coming in! I've been calling them for months and they kept giving me the run around! Even with my other bridesmaid dresses they kept giving us wrong dresses and Wrong color! This store is so disorganized! When I came to pick up my wedding dress the lady broke my dress they didn't do what I paid for and the charge an arm and a leg! This store sucks big time! What's supposed to be a fun experience was nothing of the sort! I don't get how they are in business! They need better communication especially dealing with people's big day ! read more

Did I get a nice dress for my daughter's wedding ? Yes. Did I get a lot of assistance in the store, no. They said they would measure me, they didn't. The girl ordered a dress for me based on a guess and it did fit. When I came back to pick it up, I could barely get help. I waited outside for someone to zip me up about 10 minutes. The person I assume was the manager literally stood there staring at me instead of assisting. But what I'm actually pissed off about is they shared/sold my email address to about 100+ businesses. I haven't stopped getting multiple daily emails from life insurance, home products, home warranty's, etc...all things a potential married couple would invest in together. They did not tell me it was for marketing, I assumed it was to let me know updates on the dress I ordered. I asked to see if I could buy the display one because it has the tag on it and was told they're unable to sell it to me. Went to the other location in aurora and was told that they were out of stock but they were immediate to sell the display one that I had wanted. Could have saved a trip. read more

Anne is wonderful. She's helped me find a dress. Alterations are another story. I was told the alterations would be $80. The bill was actually $183 for a simple 2 layer hem on a sheath dress. As the items arrived one by one I was asked to please come pick them as their is their practice. I explained I have a very large order and you see my address so you know how far I live. I asked if they could please hold onto the items until the complete shipment arrived. I was very happy to hear them say YES they would!!!! Once my order was completed they called me and asked if I would like them to have it shipped to my home as a courtesy . I quickly said yes please and they did just that. I would've had it the very next day but the snowstorms delayed the shipment. They have DEFINITELY redeemed themselves in my book. read more

Purchased a dress and tried it on there when it arrived. and not again until the day of my son's weddings. I purchased it a size up to have room to move, eat and dance comfortably. 1.5 hours into the day the zipper broke in the middle. I was mortified at the quality of dresses that this bridal shop would offer. I called to complain about this and they said there is nothing they could do for me. Do not purchase anything at David's Bridal. The dress was big enough that I was able to pull it over my head without moving the zipper as it was open in the middle and not on the top or the bottom. read more

Finally go to pick it up after getting adjusted, and it clearly was done very badly or not at all. I call to make a complaint and they said it didn't for because I lost a lot of weight. Lucky me that I am a weightlifter and I weigh myself a lot. So I know, I haven't lost much of anything. The dress did not fit at all. It was like squeezing an A cup into a d cup. Anyways, I call to see if I could just cancel the whole thing and get some store credit or something and they said that there is nothing they can do. So now I have to trust that they will fix it and hopefully I'll have a wedding dress that fits. I am extremely upset and disappointed. I paid over $100 to get my bridesmaid dress altered and I just know they didn't do anything, the dress was still tight in the same places, I Didn't say anything because I get anxious speaking up sometimes so that's my fault on my end, but at the wedding the dress was tight still even a couple other girls had a problem getting theirs zipped up and it ripped on back the zipper broke cause I bent down to pick something up. They are nice and all but I feel like I got ripped off and they just almost pretended to fix it. read more

Already can't wait to go back to meet with her for the bridesmaid dresses! She knows exactly what's she's doing and that was so helpful for me. Ladies- get the tiara AND veil !! jazz up the dress with one of their rhinestone belts (it can be sewn on). They can add sleeves to anything too. They are geniuses here. And Ivory better than white. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. This is a review for bridesmaid dresses. 1. My friend wanted a short dress for her July wedding. They only had two available in stock. 2. We were working with one associate who then came over with her manager and said there was a mix up with the scheduling and we would have another consultant. No problem until the consultant told us that the manager had been drinking and that's why the schedule was messed up. 3. We worked with a consultant named Patty. She was new so I blame more of the clear lack of training on David's Bridal location than her. However, she was awful. She measured the bridesmaids so we would know our sizes on what to order online. She took us in the dressing room but never told us our size. Then she told us all of our sizes in front of everyone else. As women who are constantly under external pressures to be a certain size and look, you would think people understand that's not something you do. Then, to make matters worse, when she told me my size (the largest of the group-which I was already well aware of) she told me to "not worry about it because size is just a number". Didn't say that to the women who were smaller than me, though. We asked simple questions about ordering dresses and Patty said to go ask the manager (instead of asking herself so that she could learn). We would have walked out immediately except we were waiting for one more bridesmaid to show up. This was by far the most unprofessional and untrained staff I've ever seen. I had such an wonderful experience at David's Bridal in Orland Park. My wedding is January 1st of 2021, so I already knew finding a dress would be really stressful. Factor in I'm a plus size, so I just wasn't very hopeful about finding THE dress with my time constraint. Danielle my stylist was so incredible! She took the time to get to know what I liked, what I didn't like, what type a wedding I was having, just really took it all in to find the right choices for me. Then not to mention everyone you bring has an opinion and wants to tell you what you should wear. Danielle really stayed true to what I was looking for and brought dresses that would flatter me in every way. She never gave up and found me many dresses that I liked. I have come here about 5 times this year because of our upcoming wedding. I have had excellent experiences and not so good experiences here. Luckily, most experiences were good. The best experiences I had were with my alterations and when I found my dress. The lady who helped me with alterations is absolutely amazing. She knows what she is doing, is patient and so kind. If I had to choose, I would not choose anyone but her. She deserves a raise for the painstaking work of measuring everyone's dress, dealing with cranky brides and all the sewing that goes into altering gowns. I also had a wonderful experience when I found my dress. The woman who helped us was absolutely involved and gave 100%. She gave me different options based on my interest as well as what she thought would look good (I actually chose the gown that she recommended, go figure she knew better than me ;)). My not so good experience was when my bridesmaids and I went to try on dresses. The woman who helped us was not available and we waited very long for each person to get their dress. She also tried to scare us into buying the dresses immediately when the wedding was not for another 5 months. As a bride, I did not need that unneeded stress and she would not stop pushing even after I told her we would buy at our own time. Most of my bridesmaids waited until February to buy the dress (wedding in April) and they all have their dresses. I just did not have a good experience with her and I usually try to find the good times in most places. Overally this David's Bridal has treated me good. It does get crazy after January when they say it is "Bridal Christmas" but if you are patient and go in with a good attitude and just expect to wait a little it will be a good time. read more

My experience here has been okay. Most of the people working have been very nice however I feel like I was taken advantage. My first visit, I found the dress, the size fit perfect. After the lady measured me, she wants to size me up. I said no, it fit perfect in the size I tried. We went back and forth about it at least 3x and she was very adamant I needed the bigger size. I'm glad I stood my ground bc when the dress arrived it fit beautifully. Yesterday, I take for alterations which I assumed was included. It fit perfect but a little long so it will be hemmed. At the very end of standing up for an hour with her pinning, she gives me a clipboard with charges of $330. The dress only cost $600??! She said I had to fill out and sign the form so I did and she goes Oh and its Non Refundable. How are you gonna charge me over 50% of what the dress is worth for hem? And why didn't you tell me upfront there was a cost?? They pretty much forced me to make an alterations appt when I bought the dress months back. This place is bogus. I was happy but now I definitely feel taken advantage of. Don't make my same mistake here! read more

I made an appointment for a Saturday at noon about 2 weeks in advance. Everything I read on all of the bridal blogs said "Make an appointment! Do it early! Get your dress because it takes forever!" Well, I had no idea what I was looking for and decided to make my first stop at David's. I checked in and they asked me to fill out a form. I refused to provide my fiance's email address or phone number. They told me they wanted to have it so he could get Men's Wearhouse deals. I told them I get enough spam emails and phone calls with wedding deals that he doesn't need to get them as well so they let it go. After about 10 minutes, I am finally introduced to my "consultant" (term used very loosely). She takes me, my mom, and sister over to the small area of Bridal Gowns to show the selection off, asks me what style I like, and when I tell her I don't know she says "well, look around because I am going to talk to my other bride". We looked around for a little bit. She came back and asked me if I had found anything I would like to try on. I pointed to the couple I had found, she said ok, and took us to the dressing room area. Oh, the dressing room area! It was so crowded! She actually said to my mom that she was going to steal some chairs because there weren't any. She tucked me back into a corner, put my name on a door, and then said "Mom, I have a real important job for you" Mom: "Ok" "You are going to be in charge of pinning the dresses because I have to go work with my other bride." WHAT?!?! My mother has never once in her life pinned a bridal gown. I tried them on without pinning and was just all around disappointed. When she came back, I just told her I didn't like them and was going to look at bridesmaid dresses because maybe one of those would meet my needs. I found a couple and came back to find she had pulled my name off the door. We were out of there within 45 Minutes. The service was awful and truly I didn't find the selection to be great. I understand that we are just another customer to you, but this time with my mom should be special. I came here to try on dresses for my wedding. After then setting an appointment for me and waiting over an hour i approached the receptioist to see what was going on.they informed me that they were booked and i should have been told which I wasn't and I could come back next week. I had already drove 45 mins to come to the store and only wanted to try one dress so I could buy it. It also wasted any time for me to go to another davids I had found online. I tried this store again with my friend for her fitting. The consultant told the mother of the bride not to cry. I was told not talk about big butt when explaining a dress style and continued to try to talk my friend into buying a dress she wasn't sure of and show us dresses she didn't like at all I would never recommend this location to anyone they are rude and treat anyone that comes in casual clothes like they arnt worth the time to deal with. read more

I've been to David's during the week and on weekends. No matter if it's busy or not, their customer service is horrible. The managers, in particular, are rude and don't take even a second to listen. A manager w dark, shorter hair has been so incredibly unprofessional over and over. I just picked up a $300 MOB dress and wanted to make sure it was ok before leaving. The associate literally hung it on the sign by the front door as crowds were coming in. Then, when I asked to move, she grabbed this manager who didn't take even two seconds to listen. She said, "Tell her she'll have to wait." I had an appointment! Then, I tried to explain that I just wanted to view it. So this manager grabbed the dress and whisked me to another area, ripping off the plastic. When I asked about about moths getting it her response was, "Don't put it in an area with moths!" Then she left. On my initial appointment, during the week , when almost no other customers were there, I came at my appointment time and waited and waited 10-15 minutes. I caught this same manager's attention who told me to sign in. I said that I did and have been waiting. She told a girl to help me (I heard) but then quickly walked past without even acknowledging that someone will be w me and sorry for the delay. Nada! Today I went into the store excited to pick up what I thought was a brand new wedding gown. I paid over $1000 for a gown, and when I put it on it looked dirty as if it was worn and returned and retagged. Not only that I tried on the exact same dress at the Naperville location the weekend prior while waiting on my dress to come in at this store and it fit perfectly. I told every employee I encountered at the Orland Park location that the dress I was supposed to take home today was missing fabric across the back. No one wanted to listen. It took for 3 sales employees, 1 alterations woman to ignore me completely before they sent a girl to remeasure me. To no avail the size chart proved that I was the size that I ordered. I then took a measurement of the material and it was missing 5 inches across the back. I will never recommend nor do business with this location or Davids bridal again. If I wasn't almost 100 days out from my wedding I'd get a full refund and go elsewhere. Their return policy should allow refund to original payment method when you do not get what you paid for. I am now waiting a month to hopefully get the correct item. read more
