Okay so this place use to rock. Amazing all through, the rolls are fresh the apps are yummy it's a cute place, backyard in the summer. Unfortunately though, for the last few months it's declined so much. I've had funny tasting fish, messed up deliveries, messy rolls which is honestly super frustrating for me. Came for lunch great food for a great price. Katsu chicken is a great choice for kids. It cost about $60 for only 4 people at lunch. Salad and miso soup were decent and served quickly. Food was not bad. We ordered rolls and were happy with them. Fresh ginger was very dry. The ginger we usually get it is fresh and moist, the one they served was super dry. The waitress could be nicer. She never came to ask if we are doing ok. We had to look for her and ask for things. We were done and wanted to pay, she asked us to wait 5 minutes because the system is down and she can't swipe the card. We waited probably 20 min. She never came to tell us what is going on. I think the world should know that this afternoon, while Ako staff was unloading food from the truck, a box of mushrooms spilled into the murky, grey snow melted, muddy corner between the sidewalk and the pavement of Bedford avenue. The man just collected the mushrooms, put them back in the box, and brought it into the restaurant. It was beyond gross. Although I don't eat here very often, I certainly never will again. read more

I love this place because they have a great quality for the price. I haven't been able to find another place in the area, or even in times square (where I work) who has the same grade food for the great prices. Lunch special is a steal! 3 rolls/$11 or 2 rolls/$9 Also, the service is wonderful here. The wait staff is always friendly and very prompt. One time when I dropped my chopstick on the floor, they were already giving me a new one before I even had time to pick it up. The outside patio is very nice when the weather is enjoyable. One of the best things is that it is BYOB and there is a wine store adjacent to them & a deli right across the street for beer. My boyfriend and I usually get the sushi for two because it is an insane amount of food, (with colorful lighted decorations) for $40. We've also tried the sushi & sashimi for two for $50 but it's way too much food. They also give you soup & salad when you order the sushi for two. We always leave stuffed & happy. read more

The owner and his wife made us feel so at home. The food was delicious and we didn't have to wait long. The service was wonderful, they hung back, wasn't always watching over us and gave us our space and time to enjoy the evening and our meal. To the two idiots who were there Saturday, June 20th, 2015 in the evening looking for a kickback by complaining that the service was not good, everyone in the joint saw you for who you were. Best quality for fresh sushi and sashimi on Bedford Avenue. I live on N5 and Bedford Ave and have tried all of the options. Ako consistently has fresh sushi and sashimi. (My favorite is the salmon sushi and the spicy salmon sushi.) Last night the owner showed me all about the high-tech refrigeration system for the sushi counter as well as the deep freezer downstairs. The service started well but was inattentive/nonexistent after the food came. The employees were very nice which is an extra star for this review. Unfortunately the fish was not very good quality for the sushi. The rolls masked this fact with the added ingredients. I've certainly had better sushi for a fraction of the cost. There are tons of sushi places in williamsburg that have the same quality but half the price. So why not go elsewhere? If byob is extremely important to the meal, then go for it. But otherwise, this place is like any other sushi place around the area. The food took forever to come and although it came in a tower of nicely carved ice, I could have done without if it meant the food would came out faster (it was a sashimi platter). I also had the oyster special..again, nothing out of the ordinary. I don't remember the price but I think it was $20 for 6 pieces?
