I was looking for a place to meet up with an old friend and I was really in the mood for breakfast. I looked at yelp reviews for a place nearby and this came up. I am so glad that I went here. I will definitely go back next time i'm in town. The service was fast and friendly. The food was Hot, fresh and delicious. All for a great price.

I ate breakfast here and i won't be back. The hostess was an older woman dressed very nice. I thought perhaps she owned the place or worked there a very long time. Her husband and his friend were eating breakfast next to us. Older gentleman who looked like they worked construction or something similar. While trying to enjoy my meal, the two gentleman were having outrageous conversations. The gentleman talked about how he told a hostess at a different restaurant he used EBT to pay for his meal. He was upset that the hostess at that restaurant didn't think it was funny. He continued to talk about Mexicans and Spanish speaking people. Stating he wishes they'd all "go back to where they came from." He later mentioned that he hates Indians the most of all. Ignorantly he said he hates Indians who "speak Spanish"........right. Whatever that means. Also to the hostess who was dressed very nice... you should ask your husband how he allows his friend to speak about you. his friend said he's married with no kids or grandkids and wishes he had a "hot piece of ass" like that. I'll never be back the food was mid. Here's the biscuits and gravy that could never compare to my grandmothers.

Saturday breakfast: Scrambled Eggs, English Muffin and Hash Hash browns.

Nice place but 8$ for 2 pieces of toast is ridiculous. That's a ridiculous price. I can buy more than 5 loaves for less

It was ice cold and perfectly crafted. We were then sat at a booth where we enjoyed our meal. Two people in the group ordered steaks that were prepared exactly as ordered. I had the salmon grilled, and it was delicious! We also had wines by the glass and another perfectly crafted cocktail (French 75). I recommend this restaurant and can't wait to come back! * don't forget to bring cash-- it's the only form of payment that is accepted!

Don't get me wrong: the food is fine (in the most mediocre sense). Full disclosure: We don't eat red meat, so I can't comment on their steaks, which is what the place is known for. This is a classic case of tradition masquerading as fine dining. There's no subtly or nuance to the cuisine. The oysters Rockefeller was overly sauced, and the salad was overdressed. My salmon was a bit overcooked, but the baked potato was very good. The dessert, a brownie with ice cream, ate like a Little Debbie squirted with Hershey chocolate sauce. I will say that our server was wonderful and was working very hard. The ambiance, however, was sad. We were seated in the bar area on very uncomfortable wooden benches. Honestly, it felt like a Cracker Barrel. At the bar was an obnoxiously loud man dropping F-bombs and saying homophobic things. He pretty much ruined any enjoyment we had a hope of having. Finally, Diamond Grille doesn't accept credit cards, which we knew, but again, our enjoyment was dampened by having to keep track of how much everything cost so we didn't spend more than the cash we had gotten out of the ATM on our way. The hostess told us they were planting their feet and never taking cards, and I just don't understand why, in the 21st century, a business would alienate customers like this. All in all, this place is resting on its past reputation, and in my opinion, it's unearned.

You cannot…read moreeat these tiny umbrellas, but they do somehow make the sandwiches taste amazing, but again do not try to eat these small umbrellas they are inedible. I keep reading these reviews saying the sandwiches are dry. If you are lacking saliva be sure to ask your kind server for some extra sauce like ranch or blue cheese or something. The bartenders are like little fairy people and I don't know where they even found barbacks this good, they are like machine elves keeping the fabric of time weaving along. it's a marvel to witness these normal regular human people do their jobs with expert timing. It's hard to believe they are even real people at all, but perhaps inter dimensional beings sent to earth to teach us more about ourselves and feed us tasty food and bevs. The owner Danny B is a really cool dude and curates a selection of some vintage art films, bob ross, and other incredibly quirky things on the tvs, and the atmosphere is one of the most unique Akron-esque places you could hope to spend your precious time left here on earth. I've never been here before but I know it's a fairly popular place so I was quick to agree to the location. We originally sat at the bar but the stools were so incredibly uncomfortable, so we moved to a booth. While our server was nice, it did take her quite a while to come take our drink order. I got a "lavendar breeze" for my first drink and it was delicious. The menu is small, with the focus being on grilled cheese sandwiches. I'm not a huge grilled cheese lover, so I ordered a wedge salad (with house white French dressing) and the sauerkraut balls from the appetizer menu. The salad was on par with what you'd expect, the dressing was tasty. The sauerkraut balls, though, kind of threw me. First, it's a HUGE serving. There was around 30-40 sauerkraut balls in the basket; way more than I ever imagined would be in an order. I was expecting four or five golf ball sized balls. Maybe I've been spoiled by having some fantastic sauerkraut balls, but these were subpar, at best. They didn't have a lot of flavor and the cocktail sauce they served with them was an odd choice. While I still enjoyed time catching up with a friend and the drinks were well done, I doubt I'll come back for food. The menu just wasn't appealing to me and what I did have wasnt good enough to lure me back anytime soon.

There was a small hiccup with drinks taking a while to reach the table, but the manager noticed and immediately stepped in. The food was outstanding. We shared the Lobster Stuffed Mushrooms, and I ordered a lobster tail with a cup of Lobster Bisque. The bisque was rich, creamy, buttery and legitimately LOADED with large chunks of lobster. One of the best I've had. My lobster tail was huge, tender and perfectly cooked, with none of the rubbery texture you sometimes get. Even better, the melted butter comes to the table kept warm over a candle. Others at our table had the Lobster & Steak Alfredo, which came loaded with big pieces of lobster and beautifully seared steak. I attempted to sample said steak, but my girlfriend apparently considered it a protected resource. Lobster Fest genuinely felt like a little coastal seafood experience in the middle of Akron. Great first visit to Ido, and definitely not my last. I'm already looking forward to trying their regular menu and other seasonal specials!

Have you ever had a meal that you're STILL thinking about days later?…read more Yeah. This was that meal for me. I've lived in the Akron area my entire life and have known about Ido Bar & Grill for more than 20 years. And somehow, in all that time, I had never been inside. Not once. It just never really caught my attention. Then Lobster Fest happened. My boyfriend started seeing their ads all over Facebook and got curious. He asked in a few Facebook groups and on his personal page if it was actually worth trying, and the response was pretty much unanimous: GO. So we grabbed another couple of friends, made a reservation, and finally walked through the doors. First impressions? I was genuinely surprised by how large the restaurant is inside. It's beautifully decorated, comfortable, and has a completely different feel than I had pictured after driving past it all these years. I started with the Summertini, which was delicious, but honestly...the drinks were just the opening act. THE FOOD. I've only ever had lobster once before--a tiny bite that I remember being surprisingly good. I'd never had enough to actually order a full lobster dish, so I decided Lobster Fest was the perfect excuse to change that. My meal came with a side salad and I'm a huge fan of White French dressing so I was very happy to hear that was their house dressing. The salad was a nice blend of greens with fresh shaved cheddar and delicious house made croutons! The salad was a great start to my meal!!! For my entree, I went with the Lobster & Steak Fettuccine, and I am so glad I did. The portion was HUGE, and the Alfredo was exactly what I want Alfredo to be: rich, creamy, cheesy and loaded with garlic. And there was PLENTY of it. No sad, dry pasta happening here. The steak was seasoned perfectly and cooked just right, and there was a generous amount of lobster throughout the dish. Every bite was better than the last. And apparently, I wasn't the only one at the table making good decisions. The Lobster Bisque was absolutely packed with lobster. The Lobster Stuffed Mushrooms were delicious, and my boyfriend ordered the lobster tail and was completely obsessed with it. Basically, there wasn't a bad decision made at our table. The funniest part of the whole experience is realizing that I've apparently been sleeping on a fantastic Akron restaurant for TWENTY YEARS. ‍ I'm honestly a little annoyed with myself. But I intend to make up for lost time. We'll absolutely be back--not just for another featured menu (a lot of people suggested their Mardi Gras menu), but to work our way through the regular menu, too. After one visit, I already have a list of things I want to try. So, Ido Bar & Grill...you've officially gone from "that restaurant I've driven past for 20 years" to "why the hell didn't I come here sooner?" Apparently, sometimes it takes a Facebook ad and a little peer pressure to discover what's been right under your nose the whole time. If you've been considering trying it, take this as your sign.
