We forgot how good the Pantry's food is! The waitress was friendly and offered us samples of the new pizza made with authentic flour from Italy. Wow! It is delicious! I never tried cowboy stew. This was the first time and it was delicious. My husband had the Reuben and it was grilled nicely. The Ambiance was peaceful and quaint. We will definitely be back soon! read more

I would love to say how the food was but we'll never know. We showed up for breakfast at 10:00. We ordered. 30 minutes later - nothing. The server told us "it's next up." 30 minutes later, the server told us there was a mix up and it's next up. Fifteen minutes later, we told the server we were leaving and she said it is coming up "right now." Fifteen minutes later, still nothing so we finally left. The Pantry is located on Prospect Ave N in Hartville right on the corner. This is a quaint little Gem to eat at. My daughter and I showed up right before you closed for the day and I am so glad you let us in. The food is fantastic and the staff and owners are wonderful. I can't wait to return again. The food was good but overpriced. Service left a lot to be desired. I was leery of dining here as soon as I pulled into the parking lot. The back of the building is unkept. One of my rules is "If they don't give a damn about what customers can see, they certainly don't give a damn about what customers can't see." But The Pantry offered gluten-free options so I stuck with my decision. As you walk into the entrance, a place mat was taped to the hostess station with a hand written note saying, "Come in. We're open." You can't afford a proper sign? You don't have a computer to print your message? You couldn't go to Dollar Tree & buy an erasable white board? The dining room is small with most space occupied by the bar. Three other parties of 1 to 2 people were already seated with no one at the bar. It took a full 5 minutes to be acknowledged once we were seated. I ordered the meatloaf special with mashed potatoes while my wife ordered a grilled cheese sandwich on gluten-free bread & fries. The server returned after taking our order to inquire if I wanted gravy on my mashed potatoes. She later returned to tell me they were out of mashed potatoes. I ordered fries which turned out to be hand cut but could have been slightly crispier. The same was true for my wife. The food did keep my rating from shrinking to 2 stars. Operating a restaurant is a brutal business. A lot of professionals who have years of experience in hospitality management fail. Putting up an open for business sign & having cutesy decor won't come close to cutting it anymore. I don't know the background or experience of the current ownership. It was a cute place. We stopped by on a Saturday around 10. We were greeted promptly and seated. We got our coffees and one water but they ran out of cups, so they couldn't bring another one until it's been cleaned (30min). It took over 45 minutes from the time we ordered til we got our pancakes, biscuits and gravy and eggs. With no explanation in between. I wanted to love it because it's a cute place in Hartville but it took way too long for an easy breakfast. read more

Nice, calm, and relaxed place for a lunch time visit! Pretty wide dining area with a cute porch up top to sit and eat on-only downside is you're right next to a traffic light so you hear every car going by. Service was quick and our waitress was very sweet. I went for the breakfast burger and it was probably the most flavorful burger Ive had in a while!! The hand-cut fries taste homemade however I do wish they were cooked a little longer to give them that extra crunch. I do want to come back for the breakfast since that seems to be the popular option but we had a great time!! read more

This unique historic venue was a bit disappointing. Seating was uncomfortable, dinner prices a tad high for the small portions. Service was good and Ruthy was attentive and friendly. Excellent service. Excellent food. I had the stuffed French toast. Berries were fresh and the syrup was real. My date had the sausage gravy and biscuits. She said she never had biscuits so soft. Growing up in Hartville this was a great place to eat. Always looked forward to going here. It was empty for such a long time and was excited to see them reopen this place. Have been to it twice since it's reopen twice. Went once under 1st management and then again under 2nd management. . Both times it has felt like you almost have a cool place. The food had been ok and the hours are weird. We already have 2 restaurants in town that are only open for breakfast and lunch. Don't need another one of those. You are sitting on a gold mine, I just wish you realized it. read more

Stopped in after the Maize Valley Sunflower event was about 2:30. Place was not busy two tables downstairs not sure how many upstairs but did not appear to be busy but still waited for 10 minutes for a table. There were four of us and it took almost an hour for the food to come out. I ordered the White Flatbread...MISTAKE! It was all dough with Alfredo Sauce on top and some Italian spices on top. Husband had Angus burger and kids had salads, they enjoyed their meals maybe I just ordered wrong. The waitress was very pleasant but they were definitely under staffed. read more

This was our second time to the Pantry. Our first experience was very nice, hence our return. However, it was a totally different experience today and we will not be back. My husband's 14 oz. $23 ribeye steak was half fat- no exaggeration. Our waitress even commented after making a shocked face and said she would see what could be done about it and would talk to her manager. We waited after we were finished but never saw her again until we had to go up to the counter and ask for our check. Then our waitress came out with our bill and said she talked to her manager and she said that that's how a ribeye steak is. That was it! That is one of the worst steaks he has ever had! It was also very loud for there only being a total of 6 customers. We were most disappointed with the manager's response (or lack thereof). Huge let down. Did not like the Mac and cheese sauce, would not order the salmon again, pork chops had great char broil flavor, but on the dry side when asked for medium.
