I came here for an MRI of my left ankle. Upon arrival I was greeted and checked in by the friendly receptionist. I was taken back within two minutes of being there and the technician made me feel comfortable from the start. The room with the MRI machine is beautifully decorated makes you feel like you are in a vineyard. I listened to some country music while my images were being taken. If there was a way to leave 0 starts I would. Completely unprofessional health care provider. They have broke equipment and wait for you to show to tell you, which usually means you have taken off of work. We went for the third scheduled time for an MRI and again they could not do the procedure, causing issues because of repeated time off of work. Don't waste your time with this place. So many other options that even have weekend appointments. This place is a joke. read more

Radiologist completely missed a tumor in my cavernous sinus despite being written down in my paperwork as having previous scans dating back to 2023 that show the tumor. This MRI was to see if it had grown as I am having additional symptoms. Report goes so far as to say comparison: none and No intracranial pathology. Took the imaging to my neurosurgeon who read the MRI and gave me his report of the tumor size. I will not be going back to Akumin. read more

Polite, friendly, courteous staff. Very nice ultrasound technician. They charged me x amount and then sent by mail an invoice for more money. Not just once, but twice because I had two separate appts. They charged extra on both appts. Aside from that, it gets worse...The ultrasound report on my thyroid told that I had no nodules. I had 3 of them since 2019 when one of the top doctors in Texas found them. This top doc performed two ultrasounds in 2020 and another in 2023. All three nodules were there each time as expected. I went here to this imaging place in 2025 and have zero??? I made an appt with my top doc and got in to see him this past week. During the ultrasound, he not only found the previous 3 nodules but also one that has developed sometime between 2023 and 2026. I hate to think what has this place missed on other people. I had a fractured foot around 2019 and went to another imaging company (chain) who said it was not broken but the foot specialist showed me on the film that it definitely was broken so these stand alone imaging firms are not the gospel. If you think your results are inaccurate by all means get another opinion. I have documentation, but feel it is not necessary. read more

Morgan the xray tech was the only good thing about my experience here today. Their door shows that their office opens at 8. Was told on the phone they opened at 7:30 for xray walk ins. No one showed up to even open the office till 8:15 and then was told xray techs didn't arrive till 9. Would not recommend. They lack communication and clearly are not punctual. read more

It's never good news when you have to have a CT scan, but if you have to have one then this is where should be. My experience was one that was comforting and calming. 1st comes all the paperwork then they take you to a separate waiting room to change. Once you are taken in for your procedure they explain every single step and what I can expect. They made me comfortable, well as comfortable as you can feel being placed inside this tube. They put a warm blanket on me with headphones and I went to sleep for the entire procedure. The one great thing I will say about them is their understanding of the financial burden is it sot pay for this procedure. If you have insurance with a high deductible they will offer for you to make 4 to 6 payments on the balance rather than having to pay for the entire deductible upfront. Feel at ease when you have to visit here for any type of procedure. read more

Horrible customer service. Waited over 15 minutes for the front desk staff to even acknowledge my presence (standing literally in front of them). Not even a courtesy "be with you in just a moment". they are not very welcoming, when you walk in it takes a while before someone acknowledges you and has you check-in. When I checked I paid and then I get a bill a week later for additional money, mind you this was self pay not insurance. I wanted to know why they charged additionally and that was back in November and I still have no answer. I sent an email, no response, I called this morning again and they say we will call you back when its your turn, that was at 9;28am and I am still waiting, hmmm that is a lot of people waiting for 5 something hours. We received excellent service on all fronts. We were there on the Saturday of a 3 day holiday weekend to do a scan for one of my children who had a suspected injury, something that might have necessitated surgery. They kept her comfortable while doing the scan and treated her well. There were billing concerns due to our Christian health sharing ministry. They didn't bill us the uninsured rate but took the time to track things down and work it out. This was the difference between about $400 out of pocket versus $4000. Then there's the fact we could get in on a Saturday on a holiday weekend. read more

Recently had an mri performed here. Process was relatively painless. Technician explained everything and was very nice. Facility seemed clean and staff was nice. My husband also had an mri on his knee about a year ago. The billing was screwed up but we stayed on top of it and all was resolved. Overall no complaints. read more

This has been the worst experience ever! First I call to check exactly where they are located and was told on Nortwest Hwy...duh...I kinda knew that so like a cross street would of helped...finally she say's across street from Tommy Tamales ( good thing I know where that's at). I get there 25 minutes early because I know as new patient I have paperwork to fill out...I go to check in and I say good morning...she says insurance and ID - fill out this paperwork and bring back when you are done. Okay wow that's a great start...when I'm already nervous about having a brain scan for the first time ever. I take paperwork back up and she gives me my insurance and ID back says have a seat we will call you...which wait time wasn't long. But once I get back to the tech that has to prep me for contrast...I tell him I had a cup of coffee at 5 am ( it's 9:30 now) and he says great you just made my job harder...WHAT? I was requested to go back again today for a facial - so I called to see if they scheduled me and was told it's going to be 24-48 hours before they get approved for my insurance...I called my insurance company and was told they NEVER have received any calls from them concerning my insurance information. People all I can say is don't go HERE EVER! Apparently they don't care about their reviews or for that matter the patients that are providing them a job! Have rescheduled with another company and will NEVER recommend Preffered Imaging to ANYONE! Horrible customer service! read more

Did not call for appointment after doctor faxed orders TWICE. Changed appointment time after confirming it the night before and did not notify me. This place is a wreck. Why do they hire 12 year olds to run an imaging shop? If they are incompetent in the office, they are incompetent in their imagings. read more

The staff is great, but you should know that the MRI they use is closed and an older machine--which means that anyone with even a little claustrophobia will be unable to tolerate 30-45 minutes. Check out the Preferred Imaging in Hurst for open MRI. read more

Awful service, if I could give a 0-star review I would. If you want professional service drive a couple more miles to Envision Imaging in Southlake. First off, the radiologist reacted strongly to my image and said, "You are looking rough. What happened to you?" which put me on edge. I did not feel comfortable at all. She also told me about the image that my organ looked awful and could tell something was wrong. After that, the front office cashier (even though he already HAD my insurance) went ahead and signed me up for paying it out of pocket without even confirming with me first. I figured out a couple of months later this has happened because it was not on my deductible. Call my insurance, they handle it and tell me it was illegal what they did. After that ensued about 4 months of ugly phone calls from them back and forth not listening and saying they were going to "refund" me. Chris is not polite and neither is the other male I spoke to. Very short and rude. If you want to feel paranoid and uncomfortable, go here. If you want a COMFORTABLE and PROFESSIONAL environment go to Envision Imaging. The guy there was VERY professional and even told me it's against the law for him to tell me anything about my imaging since he's not trained to do so. Having such an extreme, sporadic, life-threatening surgery was enough before this and Preferred Imaging (post-recovery) only added to my stress level. read more

Had A MRI on foot 8/7/14. Technician was great! Management in nowhere to be found. Receptionist asked for and received my drivers license, primary and secondary insurance cards and then gave me a clipboard with a number of confusing forms to complete. You would think I was there for heart or brain surgery considering the health questions on the form. (Invasion of privacy not needed to take pictures). One of the forms asked for a list of my insurances (already provided). When finished the forms I was informed that "a payment would be collected today". I asked why and was told that my insurance (Medicare) only paid 80%. I said that's true but my secondary pays the rest. Was told that my secondary had a deductible and I responded that that is not true and requested to see a manager. NO MANAGER WAS AVAILABLE! I refused to pay! I just wonder how many seniors on medicare with supplemental insurance pay the 20% and do not get a refund when insurances pay 100%. This operation reminds me of the recent VA scandal. read more

My visits to Preferred Imaging went fine, the nurses were nice and they efficiently got me in and out. The reason for the 5 stars is after my visit. You see, after my visits my insurance company decided that they wouldn't pay on a technicality. I spent hours talking to my insurance company and calling Preferred Imaging for information trying to straighten it out. Finally the woman at Preferred Imaging asked me why I was so concerned if my insurance company paid. I replied that I really couldn't afford to pay the bill if the insurance company refused. She assured me that I didn't owe them any more even if my insurance reneged. My portion was paid and the rest of the bill is between them and my insurance. Other times my insurance refused to pay medical providers I was billed for the rest. My insurance hasn't paid them a dime and true to their word I haven't been billed. read more

I highly recommend Preferred Imaging in Grapevine, and never had a complaint. I have been there at least a dozen times for myself or with others. I have never seen "chaos" or "disorganization" I can't imagine where these other people go to get better care. I have been in the emergency room and waited longer for an X ray in the hospital than I have at Preferred Imaging. The folks that are dissatisfied might look to their Drs. office for a bit of blame. I always ask for the Dr's. order in my hand and go to Preferred with it to make my own appt. They get right on it. Many times the Drs. referral lady is overwhelmed and it takes her a week to even call them, and then SHE is supposed to tell the patient what day and time, and often that turns into a mess. Bottom line. This is a great place to get testing done and done professionally and accurately, but, as with any medical procedure, one must remember, you are not the only patient in need of attention. read more

Do not go to preferred imaging!!! Unless you want frustration with their billing company. I received notification from their billing company that my account was past due. They never even sent me an initial statement. So I paid it that night online with a credit card. I spoke with them the next day and they stated that it was their fault because their computer program is messed up. I can understand that. Mistakes happen. Then I received a bill today stating that they will send me to collections in 10 days for nonpayment. I checked my credit cards online and sure enough the charge never went through. We will not be going back to this company due to the poor quality of their billing company. read more
