I have been here a few times and all engagements with staff from the moment you check in to the care of having your procedure done were great. I called Touchstone Imaging to schedule a diagnostic mammogram that was ordered by my physician due to a medical concern. Before I could even finish explaining the order, the scheduler saw my age on the form and then laughed -- actually laughed -- and told me they would not see me because I was "too young" and needed to have an ultrasound sent over first due to my age. First of all- the only indication you need for a mammogram is a mass or pain. This was not a routine screening I decided to get on my own. This was a diagnostic study prescribed by a doctor, and dismissing it based solely on age shows a concerning misunderstanding of the difference between screening guidelines and diagnostic imaging. More concerning than the refusal was the attitude. Being laughed at while trying to schedule breast imaging is incredibly inappropriate and honestly shocking for a medical facility. Patients calling for breast diagnostics are often anxious and worried. The response I received was dismissive and unprofessional instead of informative or helpful. The conversation ended with me feeling embarrassed and concerned about how many other patients may have been turned away from medically necessary imaging. Don't EVER come here. read more

I have gone to Touchstone many times over the years. My radiology oncologist gave me an order for a chest X-ray this morning. Her nurse had already called Touchstone and was told that the X-ray could be taken as a walk-in. We didn't have time to go to Touchstone in the middle of the day so when evening came around I looked online and discovered they were open until 8pm Monday thru Saturday! We went upstairs in the elevator (I am in a wheelchair much of the time lately), but they also have stairs, checked in at the front desk, they scanned my ID and insurance cards, and was then asked to fill out a quick form. The tech called me back within around 5 minutes. Then she took the X-rays and was finished in 10 minutes (and probably less.) The tech even took the extra step and opened each door for us to exit. That can be incredibly helpful for the person that pushes the wheelchair since few places have handicap accessible doors beyond the front of the building. Great experience, as always. read more

The technician who administered my ct scan appeared to be taken aback when I asked for a CD to be burned of my test. This made me uneasy. Then I think they forgot about me because I waited an hour to get this CD in the waiting room all while the women were chatting amongst themselves behind the glass window. As I was waiting another customer came out and was livid that he could not get his test done even though he had informed several people there about a device in his chest. He was yelling and extremely angry. Not a good look for the office as others are sitting there. read more

All I've dealt with is incompetence or conflicting answers. I had received a text to call and scheduled my ultrasound. I was told I could be seen Friday. I was early for my appointment and asked to be seen sooner, the front desk tried to send me to a different location which was not what I asked. When I went back at my check in time I was told my insurance was out of network. After my appointment was made that's when my insurance benefits were ran. Not one person called me to let me know. When I asked how this could happen I was hung up on. When I would call back I was told they did accept my insurance and when I was passed on to another agent I was told I need to know my own benefits. I need this ultrasound asap for surgical reasons. This company will give you the run around. I was scheduled for an appointment by someone who wasn't even allowed to make that certain type of appointment, let alone that type of appointment wasn't even offered where I was scheduled. I was only told the day before my supposed appointment that it was actually canceled due to this reason. I was then transferred many times with phone operators laughing and putting me on hold which was very unprofessional, but even then I was told they were submitting for imaging from my old doctors office for it to not even go through. I have again called and they have to submit ONCE again. It's like no one here does their job, but they say they can make same day appointments which isn't true. I like the facility and the people who do the tests are wonderful as is front staff. BUT each time I come which is every 6 months, I'm told my copay in advance and pay it when I arrive and then I always get a big bill. Last time I believe over 200$ more than I'd already paid. I'm only getting a sonogram of my liver and have a 20% deductible. So beyond the 50$ plus I already paid I had to pay more. So a simple sono of liver is over 1000$? NOW it's been a week since my appt and they never sent my scans to my specialist. I have stage 4 liver failure. This is absolutely freaking me out and I can't even call the office directly. As we speak I'm on hold with god knows who and it's been 18 minutes. EDIT. almost immediately I got a call that sono report was sent to a fax that is very busy at the doctors office and the doctor didn't get it. I have a better fax number now. My only issue is the surgeon wants films or cd and those were not sent. I will request that from now on. I have never been treated rudely by front staff. Just opposite. Nice and tech are awesome. No wait for me in 4-5 visits. I just need them to be open and honest so I do not get an extra bill for a lot more than I paid before. Or any bill to be honest. It's frustrating. read more

I have spent hours on the phone with foreigners who say they will fix the issue but they don't. I've called the office numerous times and they agree that I don't owe anything but NO ONE will fix the collections issue. When I call the collection agency they tell me to just pay it. But I don't owe anything!! Believe the other reviews and do not use them for imaging. They will destroy your credit without caring! read more

I cannot recommend this place unless you are prepared to have the time to be support staff for the insurance verification persons and general office staff here. Anything related to benefits could and likely may turn into an absolute disaster. Even if you already are 100% aware of your own benefits, this may not curb the mistakes made. Once realizing that personnel didn't take the proper steps to ensure that my $$$ visit would be properly covered by insurance (must be pre authorized) staff repeatedly still told me they did. My insurance agent conference called them and the stories continued. The manager also told the same incorrect information. They also stated I would have to pay in full- although a huge amount toward a deductible (now not applied anywhere) was paid. This was absolutely their mistake and nobody would accept any responsibility. I unfortunately assumed that once I spoke to a manager, I'd receive an apology but instead, I was spoken to incredibly rudely. Eventually, my insurance spoke to a main billing office out of state and my 'extra' bill was resolved . Since my deductible was never met due to this not actually processing through insurance, I had to cancel my follow up testing that *would have been 100% covered. The sad part is that the techs here are pretty good and the equipment is up to date and clean. Absolutely infuriating overall. read more

Services at imaging location are awesome! Billing department will drain you even though they have been paid by insurance. They made us pay $846.49 upfront before the imaging was done. The insurance company paid the entire bill and I informed them they needed to give us our money back($846.49) Was told it would be credited to our bank account. Never was. Now, eight months later, they sent us a bill for $1,457.11 stating insurance didn't pay at all. Called insurance, they paid. Touchstone now owns up to insurance paying in full. I told them we never got our refund and after waiting ten minutes on the phone, she said refunds were given out "if requested!" I told them I had requested the refund long along. Now I'm told we will get our money back within 30 days. we shall see..... read more

Once again a awful experience at Touchstone SOUTHLAKE . Had a CT scan scheduled. Received a call the day prior to go over financial responsibility and prep. They ran my insurance and my scan was covered. Walked in for my appointment. Was not acknowledged by the three people sitting there and they were littering picking there nails They finally was asked my name. Then she asked for several hundred dollars and said they don't file insurance because of high denial rate although my insurance already gave authorization. She was very rude and said,,, I can cancel my scan but they don't file insurance on cardiac Ct scans and sorry that the touchstone billing dept gave me inaccurate information. She said not her problem and needed $200.00. I replied, you must own the place to treat and turn away patients so I might have to pay for this scan but I won't pay you Several issues with the circumstance but the rudeness was so uncalled for especially since patients are already scared. I did my due diligence and prior to scheduling, I contacted my insurance company and gave them the billing codes to be prepared financially But I understand they don't work for free Instead of insulting and rudeness I think it could have been handled differently Like take my authorization information and agree to bill insurance and I sign a financial agreement if denied This facility has done this before Trying to collect like they are hospital imaging vs free standing facilities Free standing facilities are a copay not deductible read more

First they delayed scheduling because "insurance pre-approval". Called my insurance who called them, but of course still had to make 2 more calls to them to get scheduled. Then their CT machine was down on scheduled date, so I had to reschedule. But all the time, I am getting messages that bordered on harassing, including a threatening message that if online forms are not filled out timely, appointment may be cancelled! Finally, the day of the appointment comes. I show up, CT machine is down again! So I wait and wait and finally the Touchstone ordeal is over. Maybe they should invest in more stable equipment and better processes. It was an onerous experience. read more

Well, it looks like I am not the only one who has had a terrible experience here. My doctor referred me for a Calcium Score Test. I called the first time to book my appointment and spoke to a semi-rude gal who told me that the appointments for this test are ONLY performed after 5:00 p.m. Really? OK, I booked for 5 p.m. She then proceeded to tell me that this test is not covered at all by any insurance company and that I would need to pay cash $199.00. I was fine with the cost but disappointed that they could not file a claim to at least get me credit towards my deductible. Unfortunately, I had to reschedule my appointment; when I called back a week later a very nice gal answered and told me that the previous person that I spoke to lied to me and that they perform these tests all day during regular business hours. She also informed me that they would be billing insurance despite the fact that this is not covered, so that I would at least get credit towards my deductible. She asked for all of my insurance information (I wonder where it went?). Excellent, or so I thought. I arrived for my appointment two days later and the girl that checked me in could not have been ruder. She was curt, and her tone was unacceptable. She told me that they ABSOLUTELY NEVER TAKE INSURANCE and that I needed to pay the $199. When I asked about the previous girl that I spoke to, she simply blew me off and yelled at me that they will not be filing my claim. She told me to file it myself and provided me with a credit card receipt with ZERO description of services. There is no insurance company that would accept this as a proof of service. When I told her that I needed an itemized receipt she denied me and said that I needed to call someone else and ask (and then provided a number on a post it note). I will NEVER patronize this establishment again nor will I recommend to any of my friends or neighbors. And for being extra rude to me, I am going to call my doctor that I have known for years and let him know NOT to send anyone to this business. Simply terrible, no other way to describe. read more

My appointment went smooth in person, except for check-out. Card reader took part of my payment for hundreds of dollars (I used a medical reimbursement card), but the lady helping me denied that it ever went through on her side. I could see the amount flash on the card reader for the exact amount that it took. After she manually typed the card number in for lesser amounts, my card still wouldn't go through. I then paid for the full amount on a separate card and it worked. I still have not been able to use my medical reimbursement card anywhere because there's no funds on it. After contacting the billing department multiple times since February, they FINALLY showed that they in fact took the payment from my medical reimbursement card in addition to the full amount that I paid on my other card. After all this time of receiving multiple itemized statements, they never put that payment they took on the bill. Also I had to keep telling them to correct my personal info because they had a random patients email under mine and they kept changing my middle name on my account for some reason. I almost got my medical reimbursement card shut down because there "was no proof" of the first payment they took! highly disappointed and won't be returning for any imaging in the future. apparently they've been having insurance "issues" since 2022 from the reviews I've seen?? read more

I was led to believe from their office staff that I only needed to pay a small amount of money after checking with my insurance so I decided to go ahead with the MRI. When the bill came for 5 times that amount, I was shocked and upset. I wouldn't have gone ahead with the MRI if I knew that was going to be my cost.
