Called the main line to make an appointment for X-rays and specifically asked if they do weight bearing ankle xrays. He said that they do at the Hollywood and plantation facilities so I set an appointment for plantation. Arrived 10 minutes early to check in and give them my script. After sitting in the waiting room for 40 minutes listening to the front desk staff treating elderly patients rudely and then talking about them behind there backs, I was told that they don't do wright bearing ankle xrays. A lot of waisted time. Stay away from this place. Unprofessional all around. read more

Horrible experience! Called 4x to confirm receipt of my prescription and every time I spoke with someone they were hesitant to help. I arrived to my appointment 30 min early and waited to be seen for over an hr to which they took another patient who at been waiting only 15 min. They tech realized that she called him out of order, told me she would fix it left me waiting another 20 min. When I asked the front desk they said she did not say anything. They said he was called out of turn but that I had to wait another 30 min. 3 hr wait total! Very disorganized! read more

This company is the most unorganized and unprofessional imaging center I have EVER dealt with. I have dealt with several due to close family health issues. To start off they are not forthcoming with the contact information for the locations . They only want the call center to field all of the calls. An appointment was made for me for an MRI on Valentine's Day for 8:00pm. Due to the nature of my injury it was urgent so my wife and I were ok with it as much as we wanted to have a date night. We made plans around the 8:00pm appointment regarding visiting our grandchildren instead and giving them their valentines. Then around 4:30pm the day of my appointment they called me and left a VM to the effect that they had to change my appointment time to 8:45pm instead. WHO IN THE WORLD GETS AN MRI DONE AT 8:45pm!!!!???? When I finally got the message I called them immediately. I was not a happy camper to put it lightly. After pushing to find out what In the hell happened, I found out that they cancelled my appointment and gave my slot to another patient. I told them that was not acceptable and totally unprofessional. I said they should call the patient that they put in my slot that was NOT an emergency and tell them their appointment had to be pushed to 8:45. Then put me back into the 8:00pm slot. The supervisor refused to make it right and the alternative Valentine's Day plans to see our grandchildren were ruined also. Happy Valentines Day to my loving and very understanding wife. The chairs in the waiting rooms were filthy and appeared to have bodily fluids in the crotch areas of several chairs along with dried food and God only knows what else that was visible. The arms were worn and ripped to the point of the fake leather was gone and the padding material was just full of skin oils and again God only knows what else. If I had an ultraviolet light, I guarantee you it would have been a glow show! The pillow the tech gave me to lay on in the chamber was filthy and brown in color. The pillow case was supposed to be white and it to was stained and brownish in color. I asked the tech if I could have one of the clean pillows in plain sight and she said the dirty one is clean just stained. I told her I wasn't laying on that nasty pillow and if she wasn't willing to give me a clean pillow I was Leaving. For an imaging center in the medical field it smelled musky and unclean. I have been to at least 10 different imaging locations in south Florida from Miami to Del Ray Beach and all but this one we're clean and had zero Oder of mildew or unsanitary conditions like this location 8300 W Sunrise Blvd. Plantation, FL. The only positive take away was that the intake nurse Jasmine was very professional and pleasant. Other than that I would rather jump through whatever hoops necessary to go elsewhere. With the kind of money they generate in those imaging centers they could at lease keep it clean and up to date and not have tattered dirty furniture and the appearance of a welfare office waiting room. read more

This place has caused me and my family so much anxiety these past few days due to a misdiagnosis. I should've known that I should've gone somewhere else from when I first called to schedule my appointment and got an Indian person at a call center. Why would a call center be handling medical appointments? The second time I called back to try scheduling my follow up cat scan, a lady with a deep smoker's voice sounded like she was out in traffic. We heard horns blowing and cars driving by. When I got here for my ultrasound appointment, I could see that they treat you like cattle here, not only was there 50 people waiting, but I had to wait 10 minutes just to sign my name and check in. My doctor ordered a pelvic and abdominal ultrasound due to some pain I've been having. The pelvic ultrasound requires that my bladder be completely full, so I drank 32 oz. of water before I got here. They know this in my chart, and they still made me wait over an hour uncomfortable with a bladder full of piss. I kept getting up to ask what's going on and to let them know that I'm really uncomfortable. There was one girl who did expedite it for me after I asked others, so I appreciated that. So the ultrasound technician, who was very nice, comes out and we go back to start my pelvic ultrasound. She says that my bladder isn't full enough so she did the abdominal ultrasound first. I don't know how this is possible because I drank as much water as they told me to and I was uncomfortable. So she finished and I get thrown in another waiting room in the back to drink more water and then we went back in to finish the pelvic ultrasound. Here's where my problem lies. The doctor calls me 2 days later and tells me that I have an enlarged liver, spleen, and a kidney lesion. I'm over-all pretty healthy, and being the hypochondriac that I am, I start freaking out worried to death. My family was freaking out. The doctor orders a cat scan and tells me that first I need blood work done. My blood work comes back normal, so I knew that something didn't sound right. Well today, I go to the ER and told them what was going on and they did a cat scan. Surprise. Everything was normal. So everything that my doctor told me according to the radiology report from Elite Imaging was false. This tells me that either the radiologists don't know what the heck they're doing or my reports were mixed up with someone else's. What's most crazy to me is that if they are mixed up with someone else's, now there's someone floating around out there who's misdiagnosed because they got my normal results but are actually really sick. These people are handling serious medical records that could mean life and death for someone. They are very incompetent and unorganized. This is malpractice and this place should be shut down. read more

Nothing like a Friday evening mammogram! I needed a mammo and breast ultrasound. I've never had either. My gyn gave me a script and sent me off to get it. The places she recommended were not covered by my insurance because I'm under 40. I spoke with Humana and found places that covered me at 100% Elite was the closest to my house. I called on Friday at 4 pm. I spoke with Joseph who was gruff at first but then I asked him how his day was going and he softened. He took my information and then asked when I wanted to come in. I said, "the sooner the better" and he suggested Monday but then said they could get me in at 5:30 same day! I wanted to get it done and over with so I jumped on the last minute appointment. By the end of the call, he was reassuring me that I did not need to be nervous and that everything would work out fine. I've passed this place millions of times but never knew what it was. It's a huge facility but it's older and the building and overgrown trees around building don't look well maintained. They have a huge waiting room and I checked in. The woman was friendly and gave me a few forms to fill out. There was also a younger gentleman at the check in. He looked a little unkempt with braids/dreads unshaven, tattoos, and a really long pinky nail- but he was friendly took my forms and made copies of my license/insurance card. I was called relatively quickly with another woman who was also there for a mammogram. We were escorted to another room in the mammogram area. It was a more feminine room with fake flowers, pink pillows, and old comfy chairs. It was another big waiting area and I wondered how busy this place must get. It was dated and a little dusty in the corners but it looked like they tried to make it relaxing. The woman I was waiting with was telling me she hadn't been for a mammo in 8 years because she hated it and it was so painful. I began to get nervous again considering the whole reason I was there was due to breast pain. She was called back first. A few minutes later a tiny woman named Rita called me into a room. She was all business at first but when she learned it was my first time, she softened. Her head barely came up to my boob, which I thought was pretty funny as she placed nipple covers on me. Then she positioned me and my boob in the machine. Took a few pictures and that was it. I was done in under 5 minutes. She said I was probably one of the best people she's seen. She mentioned another woman who took 45 minutes to get 2 pictures. Yes, it was uncomfortable but not unbearable. Another young woman, took me for my ultrasound. She was pleasant and while she rolled the machine over my chest I wondered who wanted to do this for a living? I guess the same applies to gyn, proctologists, and every other icky job. I'm thankful that they were nice and got me in so quickly. I suppose I would go back if I needed to be retested or needed mri or xray. read more

Location is in need of a major renovation. Its like a run down 80's flash back in the waiting room. Seriously, don't be so cheap and add a little va va va boom and sprinkle some fabulous in your establishment I will say I rate 5 stars on customer service, everyone was friendly and helpful from scheduling appointment to when I went for test. A staff member in front named Jessica has such a bubbly and happy personality and always smiled. I love when I see happy people at work it made my expierence with elite imaging awesome. And the sonographer was a professional sweetie pie as well. Staff 5 stars / building/office 0 stars UPDATE: I went for a second visit on a Saturday. O. M. G.!! There was a crazy lady loudly cursing at staff that made everyone uncomfortable, she should have been asked to leave the premises. I literally waited OVER an hour and a half, nope not exaggerating, nice way to spend Saturday.. NOT. Place smelled like ca-ca. DEAR MANAGEMENT PLEASE IN INVEST IN SOME AROMATHERAPY AND BETTER CLEANING. An all around horrible experience with you guys since you started calling two weeks ago. My physician sent orders in on or about 10.12.2020. On two occasions I returned the call to schedule and each time I was told I needed to speak with a specific department. No direct phone number could be provided. No one called back to the number I requested a call back on. Fine. Finally the appointment was set for today. I arrived at 2:39pm. After standing/waiting in line for 50 minutes I reached the desk at 3:15pm to be told I was in the wrong location. Fine. I arrived at the correct location only to be sent away. First issue is the fact that the departments are not linked so my orders do not show up at whichever Akumin location I'm asked to return the call to. Secondly, had the wait not been so long, I could have realized the error in enough time to correct and make it on time to my appointment. Finally, when I asked the correct location for a copy of my orders, the halfness of the service continued and she only gave a partial copy of my order. As a single mom and professional, I have to move heaven and earth and calendars to get things done and your company has been an amazing waste of my time! Do better. read more

I arrived for an x-ray 15 minutes early as they demanded I do on the phone. I was promptly checked in and brought back 10 minutes after my appointment to sit in another waiting room. After more then an hour, I went to the front to ask about the wait. I was informed that the x-ray tech did not know to come the the waiting room where there were three other patients waiting for just a plain old chest x-ray. It was still another hour till I was seen. No one explained. Avoid this place - the floors are coming up and the staff has an I don't care attitude. Very disappointed. I agree that this location is in need of renovation and aromatherapy and one has to wait, but no longer than a routine Dr's visit. The staff was polite and caring. Several staff members stopped to check if I was alright, as I waited in the hallway for my mother's mammogram and ultrasound. Rhonda, a Tech patiently explained that she had to call the Radiologist and will probably have to take a few more images. Anxiety was building as we waited for an available room but her presence and bubbly personality kept me calm. She answered my questions, reassured us, shared some family history and encouragement re: faith and healthy living. Unfortunately, the news was not great for my 88 y/o mother, with no family history of breast cancer but she was the first of many earthly angels to guide us on this journey. If I could give this location 0 stars I would. Absolute awful experience. I was told to arrive 15 min early and made an appointment as usual. The check in counters were occupied by 1 -2 staff members yet the facility had about 50 people waiting to have something done. They would get up and leave fir 5-10 min at a time or wouldn't return at all. Not to mention they have 5 possible check in desks. After speaking to the manager, she basically told me that I had "only" been waiting 45 minutes. In the middle of a pandemic, you would hope to get the people in and out as quickly as possible but it was the complete opposite. 40 minutes and I hadn't even been checked in. Not sure but for a simple X-ray of a hand, it shouldn't take them over an hour. Especially having a pediatric patient. Go to any other alumni except this one! Very disappointed with how the facility and management is handling the heavy traffic of clients. read more

Do not go here unless you want your medical records to be withheld because of systems being down for a month and who knows when it will be fixed, certainly not the employees who were rude even though I called ahead of time about an hour and a half. Also gave me the wrong mri records. Asked for brain record and got one of my abdomen??? Guess I'll just have to wait to get my brain tumor checked until they decide to fix their old system. I was recommended this location for a mammogram since Hollywood had experienced problems with their equipment. All the people was very kind and willing to help but unfortunately I had a situation with the technician assigned to work with me. Her name, she said it was Lili, she was very rough and rude, that day at night my breast were very painful. .. I told her about my good experience the year before and I asked why this time was so painful and she just asked me to stand quiet that she didn't have time for this.... she knew she did wrong since her face was all blushed I was surprised and I let her know then she was trying to explain with a terminology that I couldn't understand, she showed all her rudeness and make me feel so bad during the test, then she started to talk and inviting me to talk to the manager... I didn't do since the office was busy with other people waiting to be attended. .. Then I was told that she was very good in her job but I don't think this is the right way to treat a pacient, specially in this kind of test, you are going to be naked in front of somebody that you don't know, you are in a position that you are very vulnerable and that is more than rude, cruel....people like this Lili shouldn't be working in the health system since this just shows that she has no sence of humanitarian service, she is just and ugly heart person that should be doing something else. I wouldn't recommend this location for a mammogram if that person is who is going to be doingood it. Akumin should investigate if this is just an event or if she is been mistreating other people because this not fear. Really poor experience. read more

What's the purpose of all that he forgot his id which is his fault but Geesh when that was determined u should have sent him home to get or reschedule who has time to sit for 2 hours in your office and then you call the previous doctor who has a copy of his ID so u claim and when they send over its too dark this is the kicker after all that he finally gets to go in the back to do the mri REALLY???? Awful! I was recommended by my Dr's office and that is the only reason I came. I should have checked reviews first! Save yourself a headache. I just wasted my day. They cancelled my appointment in Weston because their machines were broken. When I called back they said I did not have an appointment. They made an appointment for Pembroke Pines. I was inside the machine when they lost power and could not complete the test. They had a room full of people and led me through a hallway to talk to the manager because they did not want others to hear our conversation. It was a fight to get my money back. She said all was out of her control and tried to say the insurance's fault! Shameful! read more

Offered Sunday appointment, which was so convenient. Staff was super friendly. Did not wait long for 1st test, 2nd test was a longer wait. Been here 3 years in a row for mammograms, never a problem. Freezing in the inside waiting room. Building and furnishings are old but they at least try to spruce it up by having decorated posters hanging on the walls with words of encouragement, hope and strength, nice Personal touch for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. read more

It is the most unprofessional imaging center I've ever dealt with, from not having my appointment on the books, to the lack of attention to confidentiality, to the overcharging on copays. The long waits (2 plus hours) beyond scheduled appointment times are unacceptable & the deplorable condition of the inner waiting room was disgusting. Not only did it reek of old fast food, but certificates were hung helter skelter unevenly on the walls. I could go on & on but I hope you get the picture. Find a professional center where you get treated with respect. This center deserves no stars, but we have to give it at least one to write a review. read more

I think I would rather GOUGE my eyes out than ever come back here again. My appointment time was set at 10:45 am. When I scheduled the appointment I was told to come in 15 minutes prior to fill out paperwork. I arrived at 10:30 am to a packed waiting room. There were over 25 people in the reception area and only 1 person at the desk to assist in signing people in, with 2 at the window to take insurance documents. After I signed my name on a list, I waited 10 minutes or so for them to call my name. I was handed paperwork to fill out. I then waited another 40 minutes for someone at the window to call my name. What is the point of scheduling an appointment if you're going to make people wait like that? I get it....you're busy blah blah..you're doing the best that you can blah blah...but serious ridiculous lack of customer service and the process of scheduling an appointments is not streamlined. BTW...still waiting to have my name called for testing and I've been here for close to an hour. If the technical assistants end up giving me better customer service, I may reconsider giving them another star. But I stand behind my rating of this place. WORST WAIT EVER...and I've been to plenty of ERs when my Mom was ill!!! read more

The worst experience ever! Waited forever! Then heard some strange loud directions from a male voice loudly telling someone to take their clothes off and put on the gown. Lots of talking behind the scenes not meant for patients. I finally left without my orders that I brought because the girl couldn't get them from the room I was to have my mammogram in. It was wrong on every level. I felt so uncomfortable I left. There were only 4 cars outside when I left. I guess everyone went home and that's why I waited so long for nothing. read more

I think everyone else covered it but now lets get to the billing. They would not except any form of payment for my co-pay because their computers were down. They said we'll send you a bill which a couple of weeks later they did. I paid it and the end right ? Wrong ! Found out they put me into collections several months after they cashed the check. Good luck trying to talk to someone, been waiting for supervisor to call me back since 03-21-16, and I call every week. I will not stop, even after I sent them a copy of the cancelled check they still said they never received the funds. I think I have spoken to everyone in the billing office each call about 30 mins and every single person gives a different answer. Todays suggestion was just pay the co-pay again. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE !!! If you have to drive 100 miles out of the way to avoid going to Elite Imaging do it, spare the headaches. read more
