I paid out of pocket for my MRI. Plantation location. Been waiting for results almost for two weeks and still didn't receive the report . They keep giving different excuses such technical error ,computer shot down.... I had worse experience ever. Will report to Florida health department, medicaid and already contacted BBB. This company is the worst!!!!!!!! My husband needed a MRI to be done for the past two months. He attempted to get one done at the beginning of August and when he arrived they said he didn't have an appointment even though he received email confirmation. He then rescheduled a month in advance for September. They never told him they were having issues with getting an approval from his insurance. The person responsible for his scheduled appointment case never called him or the doctors office. He only received a text message the day before his MRI appointment that the approval was pending. The next day when he arrived at the Akumin office they said his appointment was canceled. Again this was not the first time.When we asked why, he was told because the approval wasn't received. They never told him what to do to get the approval. How is the patient supposed to get anything resolved with insurance and them the day before a scan appt. Most people have jobs and are working till 5pm and doctors offices won't get the information to the insurance on time. What do these people do?!?! I then called and spoke to the most incompetent and condescending individuals that couldn't care less. I asked what their responsibility was and follow up on getting the information needed for these appointments. Never got a straight answer. Ridiculous, Awful, will NEVER use them again!!!! read more

Absolutely do not recommend this facility imaging services. They accept zero responsibility for anything. They try to make everything the clients fault when it absolutely is not. Luckily for them many of their clients are elderly and ill because I cannot fathom how they could stay in business if the numerous poorly treated people I saw just today knew who they could report them. I am not exaggerating. Their client service is as shoddy as their waiting room full of ripped chairs. Their professionalism is as questionable as the lack of a single radiology accredidation certificate or business license in any public area. There is a sheet posted informing any who have a complaint to send a written letter to the ACR address. There are plenty of other facilities around. I urge you to go to any other place. read more

After my fourth visit, yes, 4 visits. I still don't have my breast. ultrasound. Reasons, when I got there: 1. Machine is broken 2. Was told that I had canceled my appointment, which is a lie 3. This company is an absolute joke. They scheduled my appointment and when I walked in, they told me that they canceled it because one of the person's who was supposed to do my ultrasound called out, and that they were backed up. I never received any information of any cancellation the day of my appointment yet when I called to speak to a supervisor, they couldn't get a hold of a supervisor. But they did say that someone called me granted I had the phone with me the whole time and never received a phone call or a text that they claim that they sent letting me know that they canceled my appointment. This company is a complete fraud. I'd love to bill them for the time I had to step away from work and use my gas to basically find out that they went ahead and canceled my appointment without my knowledge. Never will I ever go to any establishment of theirs and I will make sure that anyone I know doesn't go either. Don't ever make an appointment with them. It's a waste of time!!!!! read more

I had an 8am appointment, supposedly the first of the day. Was still in waiting room at 9:05. Doors to the facility did not open until 7:45. Understaffed and unprepared to start the day. If you ask patients to show up 15 minutes early, check in staff should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to first appointment. Check in staff were rude, offered no acknowledgement of delays. Dirty facility. Technicians were nice enough but this place needs some new management. read more

My mother had a stat PET scan ordered for cancer screening because she is losing weight at an exponential rate to the point where she's skin and bone. I made the appointment with Akumin 8300 in plantation in the second week of April 2022 for today (5/12/22) because that's what they had available. I'm a nurse and my schedule is tight so I requested from my employer to give me few hours off which they did. Went to work this morning and then took my hours off, drove to my mom and took her to plantation. When we arrived, the check in lady couldn't find her order then she found it and told me it was canceled ! I asked why was it canceled and they said pending insurance authorization. I asked them why wasn't I notified? I had leave work for this and my poor mother was fasting for the exam!!!! They claim they called me the day before and left a voice msg. I pulled my phone record and there's no call and certainly no voicemail from them so someone is lying!!! I'm so concerned about my mother that I was willing to pay 1200$ on the spot cash!! And then they proceed to tell me they don't have the contrast necessary and it takes 24hrs to arrive so they won't be able to scan her today. I asked for a manger, they said she's in a meeting and they don't know when she will finish. I called her and left her a msg about an hour ago and will see if she calls back. Akumin and this particular location doesn't care about their patients or their wellbeing! And I will not be taking my mother or anyone there anymore. Bunch of inconsiderate liars ! I went in for an ultrasound at the Plantation location of Akumin, off 4th street. The ultrasound was of my kidneys and abdomen. The front staff was not friendly and simply matter of fact in their attitude. But what was far worse was the ultrasound tech, a Melissa. She was arrogant, curt, abrupt and unempathetic. She blasted out directions to hold my breath and exhale without any notion of time, as my face turned lobster red. Additionally it appeared she could not get the images necessary and barked to turn on my side. She then proceeded to splash jell on me without regard to my clothing or comfort. Finally, at the end, she threw a hand towel to clean up. By that time Jell was all over my cloths. By the way, before the procedure began I asked Melissa, the tech if I should remove my shirt as facilitate the scan and not have jell on my cloths, she answered NO. So as not to cause a scene I decided not to say anything, but, I have never been treated in such a disrespectful manner by personnel at Akumin previously. My advice, speak up for your rights and don't wait as I did. read more

The most pathetic and lacking excuse for a medical facility. We waited over an hour to be told the technician "is stuck in the rain" and cannot give an exact time of when he/she would arrive or even if they would arrive. The female receptionist (Sophia) yelled at the patients in the waiting room who voiced concerns that either 1) the technician could be even later and 2) their appointments may have to be rescheduled due to the facility's inability to hire adequate staff. A facility should not stack appointments one after the next when they cannot guarantee their services will even be provided. Overall, there was a complete lack of professionalism. The same female receptionist (Sophia) spent her first 15 minutes behind the counter, not checking people in, but complaining she was not provided help from her supervisor concerning her schedule. The male receptionist only positive was composure and not yelling at the patients. However, his only offer of help was to reschedule "if you are unhappy". read more

Akumin is an established imaging center with many locations. However, despite its amount of business it does not invest in its centers. Fir the last 15 years I've been going to Akumin as they are the approved provider. In the last 15 years the plantation location has seriously deteriorated. All chairs in the waiting room are ripped and torn. The patient check-in counters are unkept and completely dated to the 80s. The same for the imaging rooms. The exterior of the building dates back to the Scarface decade. As a cancer patient who pays over $2,000 per month n premium and over $15,000 in copays and deductible, I think I deserve better than to feel like I'm in a third world country, the likes of Haiti after earthquakes! The only saving grace is the staff who are polite and caring. I will be reporting it to my insurance and to management. read more

This place is a joke I had a scheduled appointment and they waited for me to get ther to advise me the MRI machine was down and to go to the scheduling window to reschedule. The next available appointment was for the following week after my scheduled doctors office to review my MRI. They did however charge my credit card 800$ for a service never rendered. The office told me they cannot issue a credit. I rescheduled a second time and only to be called 4 hours to my MRI that the machine was not working and have to call scheduling to reschedule. I was able to schedule at A1 Imaging for the next day I am still out my 800$ that is still not returned. I would never recommend this company they are money hungry and not compassionate to the patients. I am also posting on social media as they are horrible read more

Friday night and filled with elderly. 70 plus and told they're running an hour and a half behind for MRIs. Oxygen machines, cancer patients and diabetics that haven't eaten due to the no eating at least 2 hours prior. Appointments scheduled until 10:30 pm. This is CRAZY. read more

This place it literally falling apart. The lobby is a hot mess, walls have cracks all the chairs are torn with holes. I felt like I was going to catch a disease just by being there. DONT COME HERE! It's like going to the Social Security office or the drivers license office. Arrive 20 minutes before your appointment to wait 30 min in checkout line and another hour to turn in your paperwork. An hour and a half later the.m xray was done. I have heard so much bad about this place that I was quite apprehensive going in for my MRI. I am pleased to say that my experience was pleasant and the staff were polite and professional. I checked in and was given some minor forms to fill out. From there I was called to another window to pay my copay. Both ladies were fast but courteous. I then sat and waited to be called. In approx. 10 minutes I was called and escorted to the MRI unit. Alfredo was the tech who made sure I was as comfortable as possible under the circumstances. He explained everything in detail as to what was going to happen and the time for the test. Alfredo was a gentleman and seemed to genuinely care about his patient. Overall my appt. was for 9:15am and I was back in my car by 10:30am. Not bad at all. Thank you Alfredo along with the other 2 staff members for your excellence, you are true assets to your organization. read more

your Coral Springs women's center at 2232A is the worst....My poor Mother who is 82 had the hardest time finding the location...called several times was sent to a call center who tried to get this office to say that she was lost...got disconnected....She finally found the office after being 20 minutes late....She walked in and the front desk girl was the nicest to her! Thank you for that....the Technician who was giving the Bone Density is another story...if I was with my Mom she would of heard from me...she was so rude and nasty to my Mom which made the situation even worse for my Mom who was very upset...You shouldn't have people working at your office that can't understand an older person who gets lost and is upset already! Guess what I work for a Doctors office who sends many patients there, never again..there are many other places to go...I will be calling the manager tomorrow.... read more

I go to Akumin in Plantation on Sunrise Blvd. I have twice now had to have my tests rescheduled because they were scheduled incorrectly. I had to have an MRI on my neck and I am claustrophobic and twice was incorrectly scheduled in the small machine after asking several times for the wide machine. Finally, the 3rd time was the charm. Then my son had to have an echo and he went to Plantation twice he showed up and the machine was down and he had to be rescheduled and no one could call him. Then I had to have a lumbar MRI and the first time I went the machine was down I had to reschedule so I made sure it was rescheduled in the wide machine and they rescheduled me so I went the other night at 9:05 pm and I again was rescheduled on the wrong machine. I have a loop recorder which is on my file, and they scheduled me on the 3T machine and I need the 1.5T machine, so here I go again, 3rd time again. Glad it's not a real emergency. read more

went to Akumin of Weston for an MRI only to find out the MRI machine was broken. Next day went to Akumin of Plantation , same thing. I wasted hours of my time. Another patient complained that his x-ray appt was two hours late. Akumin bought all the radiology places in S FL , so we don't have much choice and they don't have much competition. Next time I need a test I'll ask my doctor for a recommendation to another place. read more

I had an appointment for April 1, 2021 and when I got there they said that I didn't have one. It's kind of surprising since their system sent me a reminder on the phone from a 561-207-8661 number. Then I was told that they hadn't received the information from my Doctor so I should have him fax it over. Not good, so I went home and came back within half an hour with the order. The young lady then said I was cancelled and that there were no available time until a week later. My Doctor needed to have the results back by the 4/6 for my upcoming operation. NEVER AGAIN, will I walk through those doors. I now see why they get low ratings. Too many clients so they don't give a S..t about patients. read more

I arrived 20 minutes early for my bone scan appointment, and was told that they were running 50 minutes behind. After waiting for an additional 60 minutes, I went to the desk and asked how much longer it would be before I could be seen for my bone scan. The man at that counter typed in a bit on the computer, told me he would be right back. He went into the "back" of the office. After about 4-5 minutes he came back and told me "it is really bad. There are 2 more people in front of you." I think that somehow they forgot I was there, or they had me down for the wrong treatment. I was so irritated that I had him cancel my appointment and I left. There should be some accountability when an office runs so far behind. It isn't ok for the patient to arrive an hour late, so why is it ok for the doctor, or the tech to do so? read more

This place stole from us by billing our credit card for a procedure that NEVER TOOK PLACE. We have been trying for four months to get the issue resolved and get the charge removed. We notified the Plantation office immediately upon discovering the erroneous charge and were given a confirmation number that it would be corrected but it has NOT. Subsequent attempts via 4 phone calls(on hold for a MINIMUM of 40 minutes and emails that are NEVER ANSWERED. Another email was sent via their website. It was acknowledged that our email was received but still no one has contacted us to resolve the issue. As I am writing this I am on hold (5th attempted phone call) and it has been 38 minutes so far. Heaven help you if you have a billing issue. read more

I have been trying to get an appointment for months. When I call a I get a recording. I don't know when they're going to call me back. They call back a few days later while I'm working. I can't pick up the phone. When I call them back I got another recording letting me know they'll call me back. This goes back-and-forth back-and-forth. I made an appointment online and again I get a message they will call me back. I think this is a horrible system and I wish that my Doctor had not put Ackumin as the place to go for a mammogram never again. read more

I had an amazing experience at the Acumin of Plantation! I left happy and grateful of the excellent care I received, but I must say this.... I went in with a very happy attitude which I think really helped me to have a good experience. I literally was able to make an apt for noon at 11:25am that day! I sat in the waiting room only for 10 minutes until I went into the other waiting area for women only. Two people at the front desk were wonderful and very on top of it Michelle and Marsha. They were helpful and joyful, letting me joke around with them. Rita was my radiology technologist and she was excellent at communicating how long I would need to wait and expectations of what I needed to do for my mammogram. I spoke with the manager of that building Jessica and she said that the staff is very dedicated on making sure the patients get the quality of care they need. Thank you Acumin for providing me a very good first time experience with my mammogram. I greatly appreciate it and hope you continue the good service! read more

I was extremely reluctant to come here based on my mom's previous experience (awful) and the reviews on here. I will say that overall, it wasn't as bad as anticipated however this place could use some serious work (not just aesthetically). The main reason I wasn't pleased was my experience with the person at the scheduling window. My doctor (in the plaza next door) sent me for X-rays due to the serious pain I was having and he informed me that Akumin took his patients on a walk-in basis. I went to the Scheduling window and I guess the girl was having a rough day because she had an attitude the entire time. I told her I was a walk-in and she said I needed an appointment - so obviously I was confused. She was immediately annoyed with me - mind you, I was not being rude. While she could have calmly explained that I could schedule an immediate appointment and still be taken care of right then and there, she got all flustered. Her colleague next to her could tell and told her "just take the prescription". Other than that, the woman I interacted at the other window was fine and the Rad Tech was pleasant! I have to say the Rad Tech is the reason why I am not giving this place a lower review. The facility itself could use upgrades. You can tell their equipment is older and perhaps outdated. read more

Terrible experience! After waiting 2 hours to have my toddler's test done and having to ask what was going on the person who came to do the test thought I was the patient. She seemed surprised that it was my 2.5 year old when she was holding the chart. She was not at all equipped to do a test on a toddler, her bedside manner was awful and she seemed frustrated. She went to get another tech and I was able to calm my child down. While the other woman did the test she kept saying, I swear she wasn't like this before. When I asked about results and when I could expect them she just shrugged and said oh, not too long. A week later we have no results. read more

I made an appointment and I they were 2 hours behind not the hour that they stayed when I got there. No 2 hours . They also didn't know how to process the insurance claim I had to call my insurance company and they will dispute the way they submitted the claim for me as soon as it is processed. They are not friendly and you can tell why they are behind schedule the least amount they can do they are doing it walking slowly siting at their computers on the phones and playing around. The bathrooms are dirty and so is the center. now I know why they have the ac on 45 degrees they are trying to kill the germs that they don't want to clean. Horrible conditions smh never in my life have I seem a medical place so dirty Go to a completely different imaging center there are others that when you make an appointment don't make you wait one hour and have more structure and courtesy of people's time. I took a sedative according to my doctors order one hour prior to my test. I arrived 15 minutes early to fill out paper work. My test was scheduled for 5pm and I arrived at 4:45pm. Once checked in I waited 35mins and had to ask how much longer the wait would be. The person behind the counter was very short and said she didn't know what was going on and she could do anything and was sorry for the way. She then took my name and rushed to the back to see if she could find out how much longer. At this point it's 5:45 PM and then Sedative I took for the test is wearing. I asked for a refund because it was clear that they were disorganized and not in a clear position to give patient care at all. This place is close. Do not waste your precious medical insurance dollars and out-of-pocket co-pays at this place. read more
