If you want to work with someone with the mentality of a 3-year-old, make sure to ask for Adam. Not only did Adam do a bad job spraying my tub white, he also got white dots all over my black tiles. Then Adam huffed and puffed when he had to come back and fix it. After Adam "fixed" his mess, Adam purposely broke a bathroom fixture on his way out. Childish, petty boy. read more

This is a revision of my previous review of 9/29/21. After the tub was reglazed, there were a couple of dings that I reported. At first the company was not responding properly, but they later explained that due to the pandemic and some flooding issues, they were a bit behind. The dings have now been repaired and the tub was sanded for smoothness. I'm now satisfied with the results and can recommend this company. read more

I had my tub re-glazed last month. I chose Al & Dave based on my neighbors' recommendations. Apparently, this company does lot of re-glazing jobs in my pre-war coop. The appointment was easy to make. Deb (the lady who took my call) is great. She's super-friendly and called me when she said she would, to confirm my appointment. Two guys from Al & Dave showed up on the appointment date early (probably helped that I was the first appointment of the day). Not sure why 2 guys showed, seeing as the one guy (Allen I think his name was?) was doing most, if not all the work. I had booked for scrape & re-glaze. I thought the scraping was for the whole tub, but it didn't seem like that was the case. And they didn't fill in the imperfections which showed upon scraping the existing epoxies off. Instead, just sprayed over them so while the tub looks beautiful, upon careful inspections, you can see the dents and imperfections on the bottom of the tub. The process took two hours and cost under $500. The results are great overall. Allen (?) gave me tips on how to make the glaze last, too. The only thing I wish differently was for the imperfections to have been filled in. But I'm not overly bothered by it and I probably would use them again in the future (though I am tempted to try another place which quoted me a cheaper price just to do a comparison on the work quality). read more

One year and two months after my tub was reglazed, I called al and dave for a repair of a handful of pocks on the bottom of the tub, and the lady who answered the phone totally blew me off and said "we'll stop by when we're in the neighborhood". I replied "don't you want my name and phone number?" Two months later, there has been no call or "stop by". Unfortunately, this is a company that doesn't stand by its work or respect its customers. What's the one star for? Because they have a website? I contacted them via phone and the lady I spoke to gave me all the quotes and info for what I need, which is a tub and tile reglazing. She was professional and answered my questions. I told her what day I wanted the guy to come down to do the work, and she told me that the man doing the work would call me and we'd set up an appointment. Of course he NEVER called... Have used this company twice now. My first glaze lasted over ten years and very happy with the second job so far, too. Dave was very punctual to our appointment and courteous. True to his word with drying time and even gave a list of ways to make it last longer/what cleaning products to use. Hopefully this second job lasts just as long as the first! read more

RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN. These guys are the absolute worst. Our tub started to pit and chip within a month. They came back and said it was because we were dropping shampoo bottles when we showered. We not only did not drop anything on the tub, we purchased and only used the non-suction bathmat and foamy cleanser they recommended. They reluctantly added another coat which began to chip and bubble within 6 months and soon after began to completely peel off in big pieces. Over a month after we called to complain, they came back again, and again they blamed us. I showed Adam the bathmat and he said we must leave it in the tub for too long (we always take it out after we shower). Then he said it was because we were dropping things in there. Time to explore Bathfitters or some other refinishing option, and filing in small claims court to see if we can get our money back. One other thing. The potion they coat your tub with has a highly noxious odor and our bathroom contractor recommended spending the night elsewhere. The guy who did the work both times, Adam, wore no face mask and seemed completely unconcerned about trying to keep the fumes inside the bathroom. He didn't even crack the window or make any effort to seal off the area. read more

Very unprofessional. It starts with Lois, who answers the phone, and gives prices over the phone??? She made an appointment, I had the whole bathroom cleared out and no one showed up. When I called to inquire 2 hours later, no apology. Wanted to justify their bahavior with how many years they have been in business. Who cares, that's a terrible way to treat your customers. They failed to keep their appointment this morning which was supposed to be 9am. This appointment was made a month ago. It is now 9:20am and after calling their office just now, they claimed the driver could not find parking and was giving up and would not come to do the job until this afternoon. When I looked out my window and there were at least 4 spaces available on the street, she said well he didn't drive the van with the commercial plates today. Then I asked her why not put it in the garage on this street, and she said they refuse to pay for a parking garage. I have never heard of such a thing. I used them once to reglaze my tub and they did a decent job. in fact, I referred them to a few friends. Then, eight years later I brought them back to refinish the same tub and the job was not very good at all. The finish was dull (no more shine) and grainy. The tub is also now difficult to keep clean. I called and mentioned this to the person on the other end of the line hoping for a solution and she asked if she could call me back. No response. I would never recommend them or use them again as customer service does not seem to be a concept they understand once they have received their money. read more

Just an update. The Company never returned to look at or touch up my tub. The entire bottom of my bathtub is peeling. My 50 year old tubs that were not touched still look better than the one reglazed by Al & Dave & Son. Poor job quality and customer service. read more
