Was told will be available in two weeks to start the job. When called reference to estimate, said that they landed another job and won't be available till July. Was disappointed considering the references they have. Waited and wasted the whole week. This comment was added in response to David's comment below. Correction - you came on Tuesday around 5:30 pm and not Wednesday. Also I reached out to you on last Friday about the estimate as I didn't hear from you and you never said we serve first come first serve. So this company lies very well to make them look better. My wife and I are very pleased we selected David and Al to redo our backyard. 5 or 6 years ago during the worst of the drought, I stopped watering the lawn that was there - and as the years went on - the yard degraded into a weedy, dusty, ugly mess. I met with 4 or 5 other landscapers to discuss our yard, and David and Al were the only ones who showed up ready to measure and able to talk specifics about what we could do. They were able to do a quick sketch right then - that really helped align our ideas with their suggestions. The work took just a few short weeks - killing all the weeds, leveling everything out - laying down mulch and drip landscaping for the selected easy maintenance low water plants, and just today the grass was installed. My sprinklers had been running since 3 o'clock this morning. My gardener wasn't available and I had been calling different people that couldn't get to me until this afternoon or I had to leave a voicemail. Then a miracle happened, David picked up and was able to come within 10 minutes and turned off my sprinklers. Explained very thoroughly to my mom if it should happen again though he was 90% sure it wouldn't what she should do. My tree was overdue for a trim, and my sister recommended Al Lopez Landscaping since they had done a good job on her trees. Though Al was out for a few days, he did get back to me to come out for a quote. Arrived on-time and his quote was so reasonable, I asked him to quote clearing some overgrowth from my neighbors yard. He came a few days later and did an excellent job. He mentioned that he did yard maintenance and I talked my husband into signing up. It has been a month, they come weekly and my yard looks great. David, Al, and their team did an exceptional job from start to finish. Via Yelp, I submitted a request for a quote to 15 different contractors throughout my area and David was one of the only contractors to contact me regarding my request. He provided a preliminary quote via phone on a Sunday using the specs from another contractor who came back with a price that was higher than we liked. Once I established that his estimate was better than the others, David came out within a day to take measurements and finalize the price. He showed up when he said he would and provided a written estimate within the time frame he promised. Within a week and a half, Al (David's dad) was here with his guys and got straight to work. They removed all the nightmare weeds and general junk in the backyard, installed brand new irrigation lines, made planters with drip lines where there were none, removed a few problematic trees, planted a tree, hedges, and plants along the back fence, garage, and gazebo, and installed gravel, lighting, and finally sod. Al runs a tight ship, and it's apparent he takes great pride in what he does and the attention he puts into every detail of his workmanship. Ultimately, the pictures speak for themselves as far as the quality of the design. The job only took 3.5 days for 3 guys, so you can imagine the pace at which these guys worked to get this size job done in that short a time. They showed up when they said they would, barely took breaks throughout the day, and cleaned up best they could after each day to accommodate the fact we have dogs. They even worked on Saturday in order to get the job done quicker. Al kept me informed of the plan each day, and I didn't feel like I needed to do quality control because I could tell David and Al's standards are much higher than mine! Overall, we couldn't have asked for a more responsive, harder working group of guys to overhaul our backyard. And ultimately, we ended up getting way more for our money (compared to other contractor's quotes). It's been a few weeks and I still text David to ask him questions or just let him know how grateful we are for the work they did. I wouldn't dream of choosing anybody else for future jobs... they've made lifelong customers out of us. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. I almost forgot... After this job was done, we had Al come back and trim our tree in the front yard! While here, they also trimmed our palms and cleaned up the front without us even asking. I got to watch David work his magic with my dying lawn and some irrigation weirdness going on with my sprinklers. We needed to have our backyard softscaping completed within a week of starting work and with good quality. Having talked to a few landscapers, Al Lopez Landscaping impressed me the most due to his willingness to work with our needs and his ability to respond back to us in a timely manner. This is especially true when it comes to dealing with picking and buying around 15-20 different varieties of plants, bushes, and trees. Al Lopez provides gardening services in San Gabriel. This includes tree trimming and hauling, sprinkler installation and maintenance, and sod removal and replacement, and finally basic gardening services. About two years ago dilapidated house on my street was being renovated. While coming home from work, I quickly noticed that the curb appeal had improved significantly. Three pine trees in front of the house were transformed from an overgrown mess to perfectly groomed trees. Al and his workers also replaced the sod and installed a new sprinkler system. The finishing touches on this project included planters on both sides of the yard and low maintenance plants placed around the yard. The transformation was amazing. After seeing their work I decided to use them for a few projects around my house. The first project we had Mr. Lopez tackle was the massive pine tree in front of my house. My wife and I were hesitant to get it trimmed because we were fearful of the cost and inconvenience. Al got the job done in two days and at a reasonable price. Our tree was trimmed and major branches were cut off but Al managed to maintain the integrity of the tree. We called Al for a second job which was fixing the sprinkler system in my front yard. One sprinkler had been leaking for several months and I recently discovered two sprinklers were not completing their 90* rotation. He came in and replaced the main sprinkler heads (I think that's what they're called) for a fair price. I know his price was fair because his price was less than the work I had completed on my back sprinkler system two years ago. David and his team are absolutely amazing! From start to finish he exceeded my expectations. David reached out to me within a day of my inquiry and was attentive and kept me in the loop every step of the way. My yard was very neglected and a total mess. Having his work cut out for him was an understatement. I asked David to guide me through selecting plants and left all the planning and layout of the yard to him. I'm glad I did. When confronted one guy admitted it, second guy said it was impossible for a blower to blow gravel. The boss lady refused to come out and talk to us. I have use Al Lopez gardeinig service for about 10 years and their service has really gotten poor. They do a bad job on the gardening service by not pulling weeds for months on end and not showing up to actually do the job. I am switching since their servince hes gotten so bad. One week they didn't know I was home and I watched them come to my home get out of the van and walk around the yard and then try to drive off without doing any work what so ever.
