We had several contractors quoted on our backyards to lay sod and install French drain. He was the most patient and really took the time to explain the process. From talking to him, we felt that he's a knowledgeable and honest guy. He didn't try to upsell anything but only recommend the things we needed. We really appreciate that. He gave us a competitive quote, although not the cheapest but his attitude and knowledge won us over. As for our project, we also had gopher issues in our area so we had him put in gopher wires as well. His guys did such an awesome job; very hard working, careful and respectful of our property. They would come early every morning and clean up the job sites when they leave for the day. Our project took 3 whole days to complete which is sooner than expected. The lawn turned out beautifully. We called Jose since we thought we had a leak in our sprinkler system. He arrived for an estimate at our agreed upon date/time and immediately started assessing whether he thought we had a leak. He checked each of our sprinkler heads and also provided some really valuable advise on how we can get better coverage since some areas of our lawn weren't doing too well. After looking over our system for 20-30 minutes, he said that he didn't think we had a leak but might have been over watering due to the cold weather, and to just monitor our system for a few days. If we still think we had a leak, we could call him back and he'll take another look. It's taken me a couple of weeks to write this review since I wanted to be sure what he said was right, but after installing a Flume (water monitoring system), and observing my system, he was right in that we didn't have a leak and were just over watering due to the humid weather. I didn't use Jose's services, but I appreciate that he was honest and took the time to help me out, when he could have just said something else to make money. I'm sure most landscapers are honest, but I'm sure not all are honest either, so it's nice when you have one that takes time out of their day to help without trying to make an extra buck. I decided to start digging and uncovered a joint between a shut off valve and a hose bib had become misaligned over time. I was thinking about doing the fix myself but, I decided against it because I had too much planned over the holiday weekend. I quickly searched Yelp and came across Aran Arbor and Landscape Care and gave them a quick call on a Saturday afternoon. That same day, Jose (owner) came by for a quick estimate. The number was fair and the best part was he said he could come back on Monday (07-04) morning to fix the leak - without the extra charge for being a holiday! Jose came by on time and within an hour or so, the leak was fixed. Unfortunately, the dirt area was so muddy, he will have to come back in a few days to reinforce the new hose bid with rebar. Jose is very knowledgeable about irrigation systems and even offered free advice to my front and back yards. Unfortunately this review has nothing to do with the quality of work because we never even got to that point. I called to schedule an appointment which the technician called me to tell me he had an emergency. Ok, obviously I totally understood and said I would reschedule. I gave it about a week to reschedule and this time the technician didn't call or show for the appointment! To make matters worse the woman I spoke to about the appointment said she would find out what happened. I never received a call back from her or technician. The fact that a company doesn't take a potential customers time seriously is very disappointing! I wasted 4 hours of my time to accommodate their appointment window (2 hours) for each day I scheduled. read more

We had a pipe break in our sprinkler system and for some reason one of our Rainbird sprinkler boxes stopped working. We used Aran and his team earlier in the year to repair another broken line and wanted to have him come out again to see what he could do. I really hate doing this but out of frustration I fell obligated to let others out know that not every experience is a 5 star like others fortunately had. I called to schedule an estimate.  He showed up on time and was knowledgeable going over our proposed project.  He spent time to take all the measurements for his estimate. He left saying I would get a quote within the week. As asked, I even emailed him the plans and plant list the next day. He acknowledged he received it. A week later, the time approached, I started to ask if he needed anything and got no response. It has been 3 weeks and no response or follow up if they are bidding my project. Now I know what getting ghosted means. If you're not interested or too busy for my project, at least have the courtesy to say so I can move on to other options. read more
