I have an underground box that houses 3 sprinkler water valves. This box was full of water due to a leak. Monday, I sent Joel pictures and he said he can do the repairs. It took him several hours to finish but, the valves in the box look so much better than before. On Tuesday, one of the new valves began leaking. Joel came down to take a look and said due to his schedule he'll able to replace the defected valve in a few days. Joel showed up on Thursday and replaced the defected valve with another new valve. After conducting a months long search for a complete front yard makeover, Joel called me back. Despite a busy schedule he was able to meet with me twice before we set up a start date for the project. Joel was also able to provide suggestions and input that helped tremendously. Joel and assistant did all the work themselves. There were no subcontractors. The job included tearing out existing lawn and shrubs. Then, I needed a section of concrete driveway repoured. There was grading of the worksite that included a low area for water catchment. He put in pavers and rock borders. Joel installed a drip system, put in the plants, and finished with mulch cover for weed abatement. I recently hired them to install grass on my property. Not only were they able to do that but they did it at an affordable price. I had received multiple bids from different companies but theirs came in with one big difference. Their price included rehooking up a previous old irrigation system i had cancelled out in the front yard as well as installing a new one for the back yard. Now instead of having only one drip system I now have irrigation installed in two separate zones. They even left a small section of dirt for our dog to play in, per our request. We recently hired Razo Landscaping to effectively perform a complete "makeover" of our backyard. It was previously just a dirt lot with patchy grass, and we avoided spending any family time back there. We were finally able to save up enough money for the project, so budget was a major fact. We received several bids, and the bid amounts and availability were all over the place. Joel Sr. and Jr. (they are a father/son team) were not only able to place an affordable bid within our budget, they were also able to start right away. As an added challenge, our yard slopes both north/south and east/west, so the project required A LOT of earth-moving. But, Razo landscaping was up for the task. They were able to get one side of the yard level (so that we can install an above-ground pool and a shed), and get the other side level enough to pour a concrete patio (w/color stamp) so that we could later erect a pergola. They added grass, irrigation, privacy shrubs, and with the money we had left over from our budget, we added outdoor lighting - it made a big difference. We are very happy that they were able to take our ideas and make them reality. Communication was strong from start to finish. They quoted me $55 for 4 times a month. Good price! Showed up on the first date when we started the renovation for the house. Take about over 2 weeks to finish the renovation & put it on the market for sales. They supposed show up on every Monday to cut the grass @7:30. My contractors was there by 7am. Showed up the first day of the first week. 2nd week. No show. 3rd weeks. No show. Bill me full price. Also the house is gated. Didn't ask for the key or even call me to ask how to open the gate for them to go in and cut the grass. Instead I got bill for it. When I received the bill. We spoke on the phone, I asked, how did you get into my gate to cut the grass ? So I send him a picture of un-cut grass. His ANSWER: it's NOT my fault if you are not there and you have no grass outside on the street! WTF???! Joe Sr and Jr did an amazing job. They came in and rescued my backyard. The previous landscape contractor, Robert Vega messed up my yard and took off with my $. Joe and his crew had to fix all of Robert mistakes by removing the old uneven pavers and put in new ones. Build a fire pit and bench that was not leveled. They took about 3 weeks time because of 6 days of rain but it is well worth it. I paid them in increments based on completion. Caution to anyone planning to do business with Razo. Ask for written quotes for everything. Their business strategy is to bill you later as extras even though the work is part of the original quote. They would charge you for the sun light if they could. The landscaping is unfinished, did not replace dead plants and no maintenance was provided for two months as promised. They ordered the wrong stones for the front exterior, poor stucco job that did not pass inspection and will not make good on the job we had paid for. They do not stand behind their work.
