Solid Yemeni restaurant. The highlight is the mandi. The family size portions are enormous and they can easily feed five people. The restaurant isn't super fancy so dress casual and it's located in a super small strip. Great for carry out and friendly staff!

Lamb Chops plate (They were over cooked)

Came here based off Yelp reviews. Maybe they were having an off night. Seemed to be miscommunication in the kitchen and up front . Ordered a lentil soup and lamb chops dinner. Lentil soup came out like a porridge. Maybe this is how they serve it? There were chick peas in there too and they were undercooked and hard. The lamb chops were four and they were burned. Everyone knows you don't overcook lamb chops. When I returned it, the person in the kitchen who may have been the owner said that is how they prepare them. I asked for something else. My wife really wanted lamb, so they brought out a different lamb dish . That unfortunately lacked flavor, and was underwhelming . It was served with a mountain of rice. . I wanted it to be a good experience . It just wasn't

Looks like Yemeni cuisine from the menu which has been popping up in the area and offers something different from your usual kabab shop. Mandi would be a good start as a rice dish with both lamb and chicken as a combo for $16.99 (you can get just lamb or chicken too). Otherwise for lunch, there's Arabic sandwich which is like a grilled shawarma sandwich which is then sliced into finger food portions. Comes with fries. Other shawarma, kofta, and falafel sandwiches are under $10.

While not perfect, I think this was an excellent addition to downtown Evanston. I kind of wished there was more of an explanation of how to order. It looks like there is a plate, a sandwich, or a salad version. I guess it's kind of Chipotle style, but I was curious on what the sandwich would entail. I just went with the plate as it seemed like the most simple and if there was something I didn't like, I could just skip it. Here's what I had: Hummus: Excellent and a decent portion. I wish it came with a full pita instead of a half. Chickpea Salad: I hated the taste of it. I think it might have been me, but that was a miss for me Chicken with rice: Outstanding! The highlight of the plate. Cooked perfectly and served nice and hot. They offered to put on the hot sauce and I said "yes"! Whew, that's a spicy sauce! Loved it Add a $2 water and we are in business! The water was some kind of Icelandic brand which was a nice change from just Ice Mountain. As for price, everything cost me $15 which isn't bad for downtown Evanston. For the quality and portions I got, it worked! The only other downside is the place is a little small, but it's looking smaller with all the people in line right now. I really liked this place and o can see it going pretty well!

Mohammed walked us through planning the food choices and while we didn't switch many things out - he mentioned that he was open to making changes with little to no charge. We had a pick up time of 11 am on a Sunday which 11 is the open time and I was very surprised that when I walked in, all of the food was ready on a cart to be brought to my car. All my guests were raving about the food saying it was great and we had so many left overs, majority of the guests got up to get "to go" boxes. I would definitely cater through Pita Inn again.

If they kept their original menu and didn't add a wrap would definitely got a five star rating. One of the amazing falafel sandwich of all times here. Taste minimalistic and simple. And very affordable. You can order online through the Uber Eats or DoorDash or the third-party. Or you can give them a call or you can come on in you can I'm in or you can do takeout.. The line does get long time to time, but it's worth it. And you do get your food really fast.. It does get loud and a little bit crazy, but it's perfectly fine and it's a very big spaces. The food is fantastic definitely come back and try it again.

Every meal we've had here has been fresh, flavorful, and made with care. You can truly taste the quality and tradition in every bite. The lamb shawarma is outstanding--perfectly seasoned, tender, and packed with incredible flavor. The chicken shawarma is just as delicious, juicy, and cooked to perfection. But the true star of the menu is the lentil soup. It is hands down the best lentil soup I've ever had--rich, comforting, full of flavor, and worth coming back for on its own. It deserves to be the #1 item on the menu! What makes this place even more special is the amazing customer service. The entire staff is welcoming, friendly, and professional, making every visit feel like you're dining with family. A huge shoutout to Ali, who consistently goes above and beyond to make every customer feel appreciated. His kindness, professionalism, and genuine hospitality are second to none. This place has all the staples you expect in Levant cuisine, and best of all, they do everything well! I love this place because it's no frills, inexpensive, quick, and SO GOOD. The hummus is fantastic, and the falafel is some of the best I've had, but my hands down favourite item is the Chicken Shwarma Wrap. That's the winner for me. The crew here was very accommodating with catering when we had a company event... and I watched a huge tray of wraps disappear in what seemed like minutes, so I can attest they were popular with our attendees. This place is truly are more than meets the eye.
