The Shawarma was a little different than I was used to, but that's probably more of a lack of broad food experience on my side not theirs. I definitely recommend getting some falafel is amazing. I've had it in other places and I've made it myself. I don't know what they do here to make it so delicious and unique. My dining experience was almost perfect. I would've really liked some sauces or to at least be offered if they had any the food is great but you know sometimes you need that little extra pep. They have Pepsi products for fountain drinks, but also Coke products in cans so that was nice. They also have some parking on site which was great. Their sign says if there isn't parking, there's additional parking by Home Depot, which is odd cause that's across a fairly busy street. Update: our family continues to celebrate birthdays and other gatherings here as it is one of the few places we all love because there's something for everyone here. This time we made a res for 7 on a Sunday evening. The food was very good, one of the best middle eastern restaurants in Chicagoland. The prices aren't that crazy, and everything is fresh. The baklawa was also very fresh and delicious. Although the food was excellent, I was very disappointed with the cost of items that are frequently asked for in addition to what comes with your meal. Things like an extra slice of lemon, a little extra tahini sauce, a refill on your drink, and other small items. $3 for some extra onion? From first glance it looks like a bowl of oil and chickpeas, but trust me when I say when you dig into it it's a blend of creamy, crunchy goodness. I came here with someone from Lebanon and got the stamp of approval so you know it's pretty good. I've been thinking about this dish since and want to get it again asap. We got three different kinds of manaeesh which was crazy for two people but fun to try a variety. I really enjoyed the bread they used for this bc it was light and slightly sweet. My favorite was the zaatar (order the labneh and add a dollop to it and you will thank me later). The cheese was also delicious and had a nice cheese pull. Get the side of vegetables too bc it was great to add for a crunchy topping. We got the Beirut hummus and the labneh as well. Came with lots of thin Lebanese style pita, the hummus was soooo flavorful with delicious garlic tones, so delicious! The labneh is my overall favorite dip any where so it was of course delicious here, so creamy and sour and sweet. I'd order both again. We also got the traditional tea which came with mint leaves and added a nice fresh element to the tea. We brought my father, who was born in Lebanon, and all the rest of the family to Libanais for some real Lebanese food, and boy did we get it. We had reservations, and it's a good thing, because the place was packed. The staff was super kind, greeted us in Arabic, seated us right away, brought us water and other drinks. The restaurant is nice, with decorations in a middle eastern style, and lots of pictures on the walls from their old restaurant in Beirut. My dad didn't find what he wanted on the menu, so he explained it to the waiter, in Arabic, who responded by bringing us huge trays of food with hummus, and babaganoush, and dolmas and kibbe and filafel and tabouli and fattoush and baskets of bread. They gave us a while to taste that, and came back again with trays of kebab and shawarma and kofta. The fattoush could have used a little more zing. Aside from that, everything was fantastic, especially the filafel and the kibbe and the kebab, both beef and chicken. After we had stuffed ourselves, the kids ordered some desserts and the waiter brought some baklava for the adults. We got some appetizers to share and I ordered the Combo Libanais, which was a nice way to try a bit of all the meats. The appetizers came out quickly and were delicious. The main dish also came out in a fairly decent time and was excellent. Each of the meats were cooked perfectly.
