I brought a gold necklace to be repaired. The 14k necklace needed a tiny link added. Previously a repair was done by a local jeweler. Sadly instead of adding a link they chose to do a clump solder. Ala Moana actually added a link which looked way more professional probably involved a highly skilled goldsmith. Moreover service was outstanding and it cost me $20 which included a small amount of gold. They are really "nice" and excellent in delivering. I definitely recommend them if you are needing a repair. So many positive reviews on this place. My experience was super positive as well until today. Rey called me to ask about jewelry I pawned back in May. Up until October, I paid to continue my extension because I couldn't buy back the entire set. I returned a call for a message I received last week. I was told the message would be left for Rey. From what his workers and reviews mentioned about him, he was an easy going person who wanted to work with the customers. All I got from him today was "you're very past due", "what do you plan to do", and "if you don't make a payment, we're going to melt your items". I assumed I had forfeited my items already when I did not make an extension payment in November. I appreciate that I guess he was giving me another chance but he was abrupt and rather rude about it. I told him I'm not sure if I can even afford the extension and won't know until Tuesday, and his reply was "See you on Tuesday." I can agree the workers I encountered in person and on the phone were absolutely pleasant. I cannot say the same of Rey, which is unfortunate because they made him seem like he wants to work with and help the customers. That was definitely not the vibe I got from my conversation with him today. I am grateful he called to offer me to continue my extension, but the rude tone and shortness wasn't necessary at all and very much not appreciated. You do what you need to do with my jewelry. Don't like pawn shops period,100% of them are out to make money on the average persons misfortune. KEEP IN MIND when you are doing a "pawn" you are getting cash that you will have to pay back PLUS 20% MORE. So if you pawned a ring for $500.00 you will HAVE to pay back $600.00 with in the 30 days. You can see how easy it is to get in trouble if you can't come up with the hole amount. You just keep paying the $100.00 finance fee (A MONTH) to keep your stuff safe until you get a break. ALL PAWN SHOPS WORK THIS WAY SO JUST A HEADS UP TO THE AVERAGE PERSON. I give this pawn shop 5 stars as compared to what is out there.
