Menu was extensive but it only had about 8 in house cocktails? The rest of the menu was food, beer etc kinda expected more options from a distillery. Ambiance was a little off, the outside of the building is nice, but inside when you get down to it was a little rough around the corners, it's my own preference, but having a bunch of big screens with sports on while serving chicken wings kinda kills the distillery vibe and makes the place seem more like a sports bar. It's not horrible, just seems like they were trying to cross a distillery with a buffalo wild wings.

The roll had a little too much greens for my taste. For dinner I got the steak quesadillas. There were four pieces. The quesadilla steak was good and there was a flavorful jalapeño sauce in there. The quesadillas had a little kick. I really enjoyed it. Service was good albeit a little slow especially considering we were the only ones in there. Food took a bit to come out but I knew it was fresh. Very cool place inside. You can tour the distillery. They make all their own alcohol right there. I enjoyed my cocktail which was the book club.

I am a great lover of Rum... so much that I've built a Tiki Bar in my home and I have easily over 50 rums. So finding out there was a Rum Distillery just a short drive away, I had to go! It was an absolutely wonderful experience. My wife had a Rum Old Fashioned followed by a Rum Manhattan (first time either of us had tried a Manhattan with Rum.... AMAZING), while I had a tasting flight followed by a Last Word Cocktail. Everything was FANTASTIC. I HIGHLY recommend doing a tasting flight of all of their offerings. First, the vodka (Sagrav 80) was just wonderful, but still had the wonderful taste of sugar from the molasses it was made from. Each of the Rums were so flavorful, my favorites were the 86 and the 106, but the 89 and 108 were also amazing. Finally, the Gin (Guajana 80) was very surprising! Again, the wonderful sweetness from the Molasses comes out, and just wonderfully compliments the juniper, citrus peel, and other infusions that make up the Gin. If the drinks and the liquor are not wonderful enough for you (they were for me ), the hospitality of Luis and his wife will make you feel at home. From the moment we walked in they made us feel like family and took the time to explain the unique details of each of their offerings to make sure we found exactly what we wanted. I loved the experience so much I took one bottle of everything they offered home with me, and I look forward to coming back often to get more... as I'm sure to quickly run out at home! I HIGHLY recommend making a visit, you will not be disappointed!

They also have a tour of the old power station that now houses the Dam Whiskey distillery. The tasting costs $5 if you take the tour which costs $32 pp. We did the tasting first and you get minuscule amounts of their wares that is just barely enough to taste although the whiskeys were quite good. The tour on the other hand is definitely something to be avoided. There is no active distilling taking place and the old power station houses barrels of distillate being aged. The tour guide pointed out where there generators were located in the past and a flooded area where new generators were placed in the past. The structure is filthy, dusty and now houses remnants of their Haunted House tour (around Halloween.) This place is an OSHA nightmare with water puddles to walk through and rather dangerous staircases and debris on the floors. It would have been nice if a minimal effort might have been made to show what the power station might have looked like in its heyday. We were glad to escape unscathed except for the cost. Avoid this if you can.

Tasting was just $10 for two bourbons, a maple flavored bourbon, vodka, moonshine and two flavored moonshines. The amount poured for a taste was barely enough to wet your tongue but in the end it was just fine as I wouldn't have wanted more. I asked the gal what was the difference between vodka and moonshine. She said she didn't know and then took a big hit off a vape pen in front of us.

We had a total of five stops to taste food, dessert and drinks. First stop was The Seafood King located in Lakeshore. We had a sample of the seafood basket which included shrimp, sausage, corn cob and a potato. Nice taste. Not over seasoned or under. Just right. It was a nice sample of some of the food they offer. Second stop was Jake's Soulfood in Hoover. We took a quick picture by Comedian Joys cutout then proceeded to sit for our food tasting. We had fried chicken, mac n cheese, cornbread and rice with beans. The chicken was cooked fresh and I personally would have liked a little more seasoning on the chicken but that's my preference. It was still good and so was the mac n cheese. This is when I started getting full. I did take the food I couldn't finish from Jake's home. Third stop was The Whole Scoop also located in Hoover. We were treated with a cone or bowl of ice cream (one scoop) of any flavor they had. The options were plenty. Our guide did advise us not to get vanilla, chocolate or strawberry because we can get those anytime. We needed to explore new flavors. I did... I got the dark chocolate raspberry truffle (I think that was the name). It was delicious and was a nice break from eating food. Yummy Then we traveled to Trussville and stopped at La Calle. We had tacos there. Nice spot and the tacos are authentic. They have a taco bar where you can additional toppings or get sauces. Our last stop was Corbeau Wine Bar. I have wanted to visit them for a while and now was my chance. We had a wine sample then had a quick tour of the wine bar concept. It's pretty amazing because you can sample as many wines as possible (for a fee and depending on the ounces). A great way to try before you commit to buying a full bottle of wine. The price points were reasonable. Overall a great fun experience with friends with cool music playing while we traveled. We danced some and sang along to a few songs. This is definitely an experience you should try.

Imagine my surprise when I got on the bus and my friends were on there. Joy wasn't our hostess this time. Tiffany was the hostess and she did a great job. Most of the restaurants we stopped at were new to me, which I loved! I like being able to try new places. We ate, drank, danced, and laughed! I was so caught up having fun that I didn't take many pictures and videos. At midnight, we had a toast to the new year of 2022! I definitely recommend you give this tour bus a try!

You will see a loading bay and a small door with a small flight of steps. You will think is this the back of it nope that's the front. It doesn't look like much from the outside. We had stopped here coming home from Georgia .( the hours are weird to us ) (but we wanted to check it out finally!) *We checked both facebook and yelp to check their open hours. When we got there supposedly they should have been open for 30 min. * The door was locked and my husband got the attention of a man he saw at the loading dock(cause noone was willing to ask us anything was we there to visit) Nope it seemed he was hesitant to open the door. He did and we tasted a few. Most of them were too strong for me I'm a cocktail girl. I said I would like a cocktail and then he says I can't . Someone in my family is having a baby. Look you could have posted on the door you had a emergency, you could have posted on yelp that your hours were changed, you could have posted on facebook we will be closed. None of this was done. It's still a business and that's what you do so people don't make special trips to your newly opened establishment. I was really hot at this time and was ready to just go but my husband wanted to make the best of it. The server wanted to try to make me happy so he served me some Yellow Hammer (premix) Thank you for this and it's pretty good. I also tried the Amaretto *new product coming soon*It was delicious! Our visit just started off badly at the start. We did buy some Yellow Hammer and Cask strength whiskey #23 . I really did waver how to rate this * new business with how it started . I like to support local breweries , etc. I know getting in the business is tough in this state. Your service wasn't that great though . We did like a few of your drinks. So I will give you 3 and a half stars. Purely for the drinks . If my husband wants to go back I'd give it another chance.
