This quiet eatery is tucked away on a side street. Easy to overlook, it made my husband and I exceedingly happy to be able to grab a non-pork Meatlovers pizza. The crust was just the right chewiness, the sauce and cheese delicious, and the toppings plenty and flavorful. We loved the pizza and fattoush salad. Don't be scared if it is empty. Shoutout to Aladdin Halal for producing a delicious meat lovers pizza. I've had their pizza before in passing, and I have to say it is a great pizza. The pizza reminds me of a hot oil pizza, which allows the cheese of the pizza to really stand out. I love the size of the medium pizza as well. It is a lot bigger than expected which is fantastic. When I called they put me on hold, so I patiently waited while listening to the conversation of them just chatting up a storm laughing, cursing, and not having a care in the world. Ok, the premise of the food selection(Mediterranean and Italian) may seem a little different, but roll with it (Steve Winwood). I came here with a group of people for lunch and it was good. Horrendous. I deserve a refund. I ordered the chicken Shawarma platter paid extra for the tabouleh and for the tzatziki sauce. They give a very generous portion of to tzatziki sauce and meat however the food was inedible. Everything tastes like oil. The falafel, chicken tzatziki and hummus was completely flavorless. The chicken was disgusting, so much dark meat and again 0 seasoning. Not at all shawarma style, more like pulled chicken. The tabouleh was old, you can tell because the "fresh herbs" were lifeless and nearly black. Completely disappointed in this food, needless to say I threw the entire thing out. I am glad that I am frequenting at Aladdin off-late. This place gets really crowded during lunch times, mostly on Friday's. The place is small with sufficient seating and options for take out as well. The menu is very elaborate and gives you plenty of options. For the times i have been here, I have always stuck to the combo (chicken and Aladdin) and let me tell you, it is a LOT of food and all the time I did have food for a second meal. The food is really good and has a lot of flavors. The hummus from here is my most favorite and i may be able to eat on it all day, lol! You order at the desk and get seated and the food is served at your table. The staff are friendly and very courteous. Odd mix of cuisines in a restaurant, Mediterranean and Italian. The shawarma plates were decent and portions were huge but I didn't like that they put cheese on top of the meat. A platter comes with salad, two falafels, and a choice of two sides. The babaganoush was great. The grinders (sandwiches) and wraps were also pretty good. The pasta were decent but not great. My friend also tried the quarter chicken plate and the chicken orzo soup. The chicken was too bland. The chicken soup was good at first but was a bit too salty once the soup cooled. Every time I have ordered Aladdin it has been through door dash. My go is always the chicken shawarma plate which never disappoints. You get a healthy serving of the chicken, falafel, as well as two sides which you can choose all for a reasonable price. The hummus is one of my all time favorites and I am sure to order two sides of it when I do!! I really enjoyed my food here. I raved about it to my boyfriend, who loves chicken shawarma, about my huge and delicious chicken shawarma pita sandwich. I love how close this place is to where I live and work; Aladdin will certainly see my business again! My favorite part was the falafel. It was crisp on the outside, moist on the inside, and full of flavor the whole way through. I got 3 pieces on the side. Between the generous serving of sandwich and the falafel, I was stuffed til dinner time--which is when I enjoyed my dolma. Dolma were very tasty, and tasted richly of olive, among other ingredients. I met up with a younger gentleman at the register with a terrible attitude. He shoved a menu my way and walked away then asked me "what you want to order?" I asked if I can get a chicken shawarma meal. He paused then said I have to get a platter? It made zero sense. I've never had to order like that in my life. The price was listed at $12.99. I stopped by here last night by myself for dinner. I chose Aladdin's because it was close to the hotel that I was staying at and offered online ordering. So I placed an order for Baba Ganouj and a Falafel Grinder on Grubhub via Yelp. The email came through saying that my order would be ready in 60-70 minutes. I thought that was a bit long to make a grinder and so I headed over about 45 minutes later. Whenever I got there, all I had to do was say my name and grubhub and I was out the door with my food. Due to that I can't really say that I even noticed any of the restaurant. Whenever I got back to my hotel I opened my food and found the falafel grinder to be larger than expected. It was close to a foot long with lettuce, tomato, pickle and onion on top of the falafel. The bread for the grinder was crusty in a good way and the bread to filling ratio was quite good. I also loved how the bread cradled the sandwich and so it was easy to eat without any of it falling out. While the spice of the falafel was nice, the sandwich was a little dry for my liking and I wish there had been some type of dressing added on. Meanwhile the baba ganouj came in its on container with some pita. The first thing that I noticed was the oil floating on top of the baba ganouj on the sides of the container. Even so, I took my chances and dipped some pita into it. The pita had a nice bite and chewiness to it which I enjoyed while the baba ganouj had a smoky flavor and was spiced nicely. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. I think I know why this place doesn't have 4+ stars, and I believe it is because of the ambiance and the lack of strong identity - this is an excellent Middle Easter restaurant hidden behind Italian Pizza. Maybe the pizza pays the bills. Maybe the restaurant itself has a poor ambiance, or none to speak of. Maybe the tables and whole space reminds me of any pizza place. Hidden beneath that is a chef who is probably of Middle Eastern descent making the most amazing hummus and other Mediterranean dishes. The vegetarian platter, filled with exceptional quality food, has all of my favorites, from hummus, to baba ganoush, to tabbouleh, and falafel.
