Decided to try based on number of positive reviews. This place was definitely a disappointment. Quality was less than average and overpriced. Ordered 2 pizzas and the flavor was less than average reminding me of store bought frozen pizza. The toppings were also very scarce. One of the pizzas was a veggie, which included broccoli and mushrooms - hardly any at all with few scattered on the pizza. The other pizza ordered was mushroom ricotta and it was completely bland. This place is a hard pass! read more

Place is FIRE, we striped some of the best pizza pies here and barbecue wings ever. Nice spot to drop by on a hot summer day to enjoy some wings. I love the chicken wings and pepperoni pizzas. Next time I want to try the gyros here. read more

It was ok but for a new restaurant that's not very comforting. Pros: Gyro portion was large Both the house gyro meat and falafel were delicious Staff were very nice and polite Masks in place (yay!) Cons: Their large portion of fries is $6.50- a little overpriced in my opinion especially when they tasted only ok (see pic below) Their tzatziki sauce tastes very dill heavy (great if you looove dill) Most irritating is when you order online it says they open at noon (pic below) so we ordered to pick up at 12:10pm (pic below) and planned our morning accordingly. Then we got a text at 11:38 am that our order was ready so we had to change plans and rush to pick up. Not ok when people plan according to your posted hours of operation. With tip (posted option when ordering online) it can be pretty pricey I would come again but it won't be on our regular rotation. Shame because we love Greek food. read more

First of all is a great excellent place to have a quick lunch. The gyro in this place are delicious. If you one to have a good reminder of New York's gyro then this is the place to go. The staff are very attentive and if you need help deciding what to eat, they will take the time to ask you. The atmosphere is relax and comfortable. read more

My wife and I were passing through the area this evening and noticed that PizzaPie was open for business. Turns out they actually opened yesterday. We had eaten earlier, but our son is always hungry, so we grabbed a pizza to take home to him. Unfortunately, it didn't make it home complete because we took a piece to try. Even though business was steady and brisk, the staff was courteous and accommodating. Because it was busy, I didn't want to take pictures inside, but I'll try to get some on our next visit, which I think will be soon, because the pizza was really good! The crust was thin, but not greasy, and the wood flavor from the oven was very noticeable. Prices are on the high side, with a 12" small starting at $13.99 and a 16" large speciality going for $24.99. That's more than most "fast food" restaurants, but based on the quality ingredients and the taste from the small piece I tried, I think it's fair. Pizza is only half the story, however, as they're actually 2 restaurants in one; they're also a gyro shop called gyro.love, and their slogan is "American Mediterranean Fusion." I've never had a gyro before, but I might have to give one a try because they looked amazing. In addition to pizza and gyros, they also offer, flatbreads, fries, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, salads, chicken wings plus cheesecake and regular cake for desert. Pizza by the slide is also available for those only wanting a couple pieces. While much of the business seemed to be pick up or take out, they do have inside seating available, plus they have a small patio outside that has seating for several parties. Tonight they had 3 flame style heaters going, and eating outside would have been comfortable since it wasn't very cold. In addition to all the above, they also offer catering. Overall, PizzaPie looks to have a winning combination here. Good food, quality ingredients and friendly service. Exactly the type of place I like to visit! read more

Stopped in with 15 teenagers in short notice on a Friday evening (called ahead with our pizza order) and the crew was very friendly and accommodating. Making sure we had seats. Pizzas came out in a timely fashion so none got cold. Everything was delicious, including the gluten-free pizza. We will definitely try to get back here again! Thanks, guys! read more

I sent in an online order and showed up in 15 min (what it says online for when it should be ready for pick up) waited for 10 min and then got my food. (There was only 1 other customer in there), got home and the calzone wasn't even melted inside and cold. Mind you I live 5 min down the road. I will not be returning here. read more

Came in to try it since we love gyros. There was a generous portion of meat and the right amount of chopped tomatoes, onions, and cucumbers. I liked that the veggies are cut nicely so you get a bit with every bite (some gyro places cut the veggies huge and they fall out). The tzatziki was also nice and balanced out all the flavors. The fries were also pretty good and came out fresh and hot (plus with the right amount of salt). All in all, if you like gyros, you'll like it here! read more

We got a pay the other day for the first time there was mushroom and sausage great pie couldn't say enough about it. The only thing that I didn't like was that there wasn't very much sausage on the pizza. Next time will say something but other than that it was a wonderful pie. I highly recommend this place. Just be careful about the sausage. read more

This place is OK in a pinch and the food was ready really quickly, but I wouldn't say that it's something that I would gush over. My husband and I each ordered a gyro and they were 0K... yes, they were chock-full of meat and the spices were decent. The food could've been much hotter, and there could've been a lot more flavor. Plus, I wish there had been a better balance of veggies to all of the meat that was in the pita bread. I will say that their fries are awesome, but again, this place is somewhere I would go for a quick bite to eat on a busy night- but nothing that I would do for a special occasion, gourmet meal, or even that of a dinner and with my family. read more

I would have taken a picture of what I had, but it was so good I just kept eating and before I knew it there was nothing left. This is was my first meal visiting the Hartford area for the first time. This place was right by the hotel I was staying at and I seen that it was close and the pictures looked good. I was surprised to see that they also served gyros too. I thought that was a bit different of a combination, but I said what the heck and tried it anyways. The restaurant was very inviting inside, as it has a modern, rustic, Tuscan style. It was vey well laid out and it was easy to find everything. The guys that worked there were very friend and helpful, I felt very welcomed and happy to be there. Okay, so the food. Let's say this... go for the House Meat Gyro. I have Gyros from so many places around the nation, and I can say this by far one of the best I ever had. They make the sauces in house and cut the vegetables fresh for you when you order it. Think high end restaurant. It's just awesome. I will be back again this week, and will be getting fatter... I used the 50% off your first order coupon that came as a flyer in the mail. I tried to order online, but when I entered the discount code, it did not give me 50% off. I called the store to ask about it and was told it should have worked. I ordered by phone and did get the discount. It's rather expensive and not sure I'd get it again if I don't have a discount as the food was just okay. We ordered quite a few things - some good, some not. Good - fries, onion rings, and bread appetizers Good - bone-in wings both hot and teriyaki Good - Greek salad (very heavy on the feta) Good - Classic salad Not so good - pizzas. Honestly the food is great, the taste and the flavor is not the problem. The SPEED is the problem, they are so slow you can't help but wondering just HOW it takes so long. I got a mailed flyer offering 50% off the total purchase, so, I decided to give them a try. Upon entering, the store has been nicely remodeled from when it was 1000 Degrees Pizza. I wanted to sample a few items so I ordered a small pepperoni pizza, a lamb gyro, and 10 piece wings. First off, I was very disappointed that the staff wasn't aware of the discount flyer, and one staff said maybe it's only valid during the actual grand opening. It didn't state that on the flyer and why would a company mail it out if that was the case?? But to the manager's credit, they graciously agreed to honor it. That was nice, but unfortunately, they didn't charge the lower prices that was stated on the flyer. On to the food...the 10 wing pieces were small and somewhat dry and didn't justified the cost of $15.00. The lamb Gyro had nice pita bread, a generous portion of lamb, but was skimpy on Tzatziki sauce; the pizza looked good, but was very greasy and didn't have a lot of taste. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and say maybe this visit was all due to early opening glitches and I will give it one more try. read more
