We decided to try Alladin Jr Restaurant and Cafe before heading to the movies and we are so glad that we did. We both got the chicken shawarma with rice and pita and a side order of falafel and it all tasted excellent and fresh. The owner Kal was generous to throw in some extra sauces even though we didn't add them originally which was very kind. The amount of food was plentiful, I came in hungry and we still had leftovers to take home. But the best part of eating here was the hospitality that Kal showed us. He let us try the beef empanadas and the salsa which was his own recipe and it was absolutely delicious. This will forever be our spot to visit when we come to the movies. If you get a chance to dine in I highly recommend it as Kal and his wife will make you feel at home in a way no other restaurant does nowadays. read more

We placed our order online, and it gave us a pickup time. When we arrived, the restaurant had no record of our order, even though I showed them my online confirmation. We ended up waiting an additional 15 minutes while they prepared it. The employee helping us was very kind, apologetic, and explained they've been having issues with the Covina location's online ordering system. We ordered the Duet Kabob entrée. Overall, the food was good. The beef was especially tender and flavorful, I actually enjoyed it more than the chicken. The hummus was a little bland for my taste. I also paid extra for a side of garlic paste, but it wasn't included with the order. I didn't realize it until I got home, so I should have checked the bag before leaving. The prices also seemed a bit high compared to other Mediterranean restaurants we've visited, where similar meals are more reasonably priced. The restaurant itself looked a little dated and could use some attention. It didn't feel very clean, and the entrance seemed cluttered with gates and signs, which didn't make for the most inviting first impression. Overall, the food was enjoyable, especially the beef, but between the online ordering issue, the missing item, the atmosphere, and the higher prices, I felt the experience could have been better. read more

We were met with a friendly face and a warm welcome by Cal. We got the mixed plate between us two and have plenty of leftovers. We also ordered the beef empanadas as well. The mixed plate came with chicken, kefta, and beef. Everything was absolutely perfect. Some places serve dry chicken, but not at Aladdin's. It was so juicy and flavorful. The empanadas were light, crispy, and not greasy at all. But what made the dinner even more special was the way Cal greeted and got to know each customer. He is so genuine and kind. I wouldn't consider myself as someone that avidly enjoys mediterranean food. However, I wanted to give this spot a try since I was in the area. The one thing I was craving was a beef shawarma. However, the staff informed they ran out for the rest of the day. I was a bit disappointed, but could understand since it was close to 6 pm. I got a chicken shawarma instead and a side order of falafel (4 pieces). There was no one else at the store at the time, so I was able to order right away. There were a few seating booths inside where I waited for the order. I did bring it home to eat though. The lady that helped me was really nice. I had questions that she was able to answer. It seemed she was the only staff at the time doing both front and back. Definitely keep this in mind and be patient when ordering! The falafel was a bit dry by itself. However, with the ranch sauce, it tasted good. It would be a 3.5/5. For the shawarma, it also tasted decent. I felt the portion of chicken was a lot. It was a 4.5/5, but I felt the beef shawarma would have easily been a 5/5. I definitely need to come back and try that next time! American Express is accepted. read more

When I walked in, we were greeted by the owner Cal. He was very welcoming and inviting. As I talked to him, I asked him if this spot was related to the one that was in Pomona. It is!!!
