My friends and I were originally planning to meet at 37.2 Degree Café & Curry, but we didn't realize they're closed on Sundays. So we had to find a replacement. This kebab spot next door caught our attention and looked legit, so we decided to give it a try. The place was fairly busy when we walked in, and the staff let us know there would be about a 20-minute wait for food. Since we were mainly there to hang out and catch up, we didn't mind waiting and sat down. The interior has a very ethnic vibe. There's no physical menu. You have to scan a QR code to view it. We each ordered a kebab plate, and honestly, we didn't even notice how long the wait was because we were busy chatting. It didn't feel like 20 minutes at all. Everyone was happy with their food. The kebabs were flavorful, and the rice tasted fresh. The service was also good. Prices are on the higher side, but the quality is clearly better than a typical fast-food joint. Parking was easy since there's a large shared parking lot. I'd definitely come back if I'm in the area and in the mood for kebabs.

Samosa, it's vegetarian. Potatoes are inside so good...

I ordered this yesterday and had to run it back today, that's how good it is. I got the beef barg medium rare and it came out perfect. The boneless chicken is always juicy too since they use chicken thighs. Service, atmosphere, and food are always on point here!

There are not many options for Mediterranean food in the SGV especially if you're not close to the Pasadena side of SGV. But, K Grill Kabob is a nice casual option offering beef, chicken and lamb options. I usually judge a new place with the chicken shawarma (okay Spiderman) but they ran out of both beef and chicken schwarma that night. The prices are affordable and they even make burgers with the beef or chicken koobideh meat which I want to try next time. But, the beef wrap with koobideh already sends burger vibes. Check out my pics.

Probably the best Mediterranean food nearby! So delicious, I couldn't find anything wrong or lacking in any of the dishes I tried. Portions are generous as well! Food is super fresh.

Food is delicious and service is fast and friendly. Came in this last weekend and I'm back today. Definitely a spot to revisit

Have never been here before, but will definitely return. Our Server's name was Maria and she was so wonderful and hospitable gave great recommendations and the food was amazing. She greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel right at home.

Food was so delicious. My chicken and veg skewer tasted fresh and the rice was really good too. We also added extra bread, garlic sauce, a jalapeño and a beef skewer for good measure. It seemed a little pricey but it ended up making 2 meals for me and a very happy daughter. #Priceless

【Background】 Thursday, February 20, 2025, 2:10 PM About a year ago, I came across a Tiktok where an Iranian restaurant owner in Dubai detailed how to correctly eat chelow kebab [1], which is considered the national dish of Iran [2]. "Chelow" refers to the steamed rice component while "kebab" refers to a variety of roasted meats. I've never heard of the dish before and thought the eating process was so fascinating that I looked up Persian restaurants nearby that offered a similar setup, which is how I came across K Grill Kabob. The restaurant is located in the Cali Saigon Mall, across the SF Supermarket and between Jin Tea House and 37.2 Degree Cafe & Curry. It is a little hidden, but if you see a tall gate with a yellow sign on top with the words "K Grill Kabob", you're in the right place. I hate the term "hole in the wall" since it seems like every reviewer uses it, but it's pretty appropriate for this restaurant. Inside is quaint with matching maroon curtains and tablecloths. It's slightly glitzy with a crystal chandelier hanging in the center of the room while piano music plays overhead. A nice draft occasionally enveloped the room since the side door was open. (Supposedly, there's patio seating, which would've been nice since it was a sunny day out, but the employee didn't offer that option.) Inside, there's a decent amount of seating with four tables of 4, one larger row of 10, and three half booths of 4. Shakers of sumac and salt conveniently sit on each table. There was only one other party of two eating when I arrived, so I'm not sure if the restaurant is busier during typical lunch hours. 【Food】 Menu: https://kgrillkabob.my.canva.site/main-menu A banner at the top of the website contains a link to the daily special menu [3], which offers different discounted entrees depending on the day of the week. However, I asked the employee if they still honor the daily specials, and they said no. Instead, the regular menu has a general lunch specials section, available Tuesday through Friday, 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM. I ordered: * Koobideh combo ($15.99) As mentioned above, I specifically visited K Grill Kabob because the koobideh combo looked extremely similar to the food in the TIktok. The order came with a mound of plain basmati rice and the golden basmati rice, colored with saffron, along with one charred tomato. And of course, it included the stars of the show: one beef skewer and one chicken skewer. I followed the instructions in the video by first smashing the tomato and thoroughly mixing it with the rice. Then I generously sprinkled sumac over everything. Finally, I cut up the kebabs into smaller pieces. I made sure each bite contained a piece of meat and some of the tomato rice mixture. The savoriness from the juicy meat paired nicely with the light, fluffy rice; the tomato and its juice added sweetness while the sumac added a nice hint of tartness. The skewers were very moist, so I wonder if the meat mixture contained any grated onion (which is typical according to Wikipedia [4]). I did have one small gripe since the beef skewer was a bit room temperature, but it still tasted great; I actually prefer the beef over the chicken, but both are tasty options. I was pleasantly surprised since I also received some pita bread with a garlic dip as this wasn't advertised on the menu. I'm not sure if this is usually included with every order or maybe only certain items. The warm pita tasted great with the salty, garlicky dip. The koobideh combo contained a lot of food and was extremely filling. I can't speak about the authenticity since it was my first time eating Persian food. From my preliminary research, it appears super traditional koobideh is made from ground lamb [4]. Regardless, my koobideh combo was delicious, and I definitely recommend visiting K Grill Kabob and trying their food. 【Service】 Since I arrived pretty late for lunch, it was super empty, and the employee seated me immediately. They gave me a few minutes to browse the menu. I ordered and received my food in a little less than 10 minutes. They checked up on me once to ask how everything was. I received my bill before I even finished eating. Overall, service was fast and friendly. 【Parking】 Since the restaurant is located in a big strip mall, there are tons of parking spots, making parking extremely easy. 【Tips】 There's a 4% checkout fee when using a credit or debit card, so bring cash if you want to avoid it. ---------- [1] https://www.tiktok.com/@iranzamindubai/video/7373240072142851335 [2] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chelow_kabab [3] https://kgrillkabob.my.canva.site/dailyspecials [4] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kabab_koobideh

Falafel - sorry they smelled so good, and I was so hungry. I ate one before taking the picture!

Loved everything about it! The service was awesome! She was running her tail off! She made perfect recommendations so I could get exactly what I wanted! Every piece of food was excellent - falafel, vegetarian sampler, lentil soup, and she mentioned vegetarian samosas at the end - so I took an order home with me. They were so good!

I've been trying to try the Shawarma at this place probably for the past two weeks now. Unfortunately despite the reviews, it's not all it's read to be. I ordered two Shawarma wraps and what I got is chopped up kabob. Obviously the texture is not what it should be and it makes trying to eat these wraps very disappointing. Tried to contact the restaurant however, there was no answer. I hope that it was a mistake and I was given kebab by accident, but I really think that they tried to pass off kabob as Shawarma.

Does anyone know if they're still open?

Just got a text from them saying they are reopening on June 26, 2021!! They also got a new number (626) 426-2594.

Does anyone know if this restaurant is still open for business? seems no one is answering their phones.

I am wandering the same thing . Someone in the West Covina buzz said they are closed because rent was too high. If you find them please let me know. Their food was amazing

Catering for small office lunch? Around 20 people?

Yes, they catered for my family around 20 of us for my sons graduation amidst pandemic and everyone loved it! They delivered free and it was presented nicely. A Must do to support them.

We both got the chicken shawarma with rice and pita and a side order of falafel and it all tasted excellent and fresh. The owner Kal was generous to throw in some extra sauces even though we didn't add them originally which was very kind. The amount of food was plentiful, I came in hungry and we still had leftovers to take home. But the best part of eating here was the hospitality that Kal showed us. He let us try the beef empanadas and the salsa which was his own recipe and it was absolutely delicious. This will forever be our spot to visit when we come to the movies. If you get a chance to dine in I highly recommend it as Kal and his wife will make you feel at home in a way no other restaurant does nowadays.

We ended up waiting an additional 15 minutes while they prepared it. The employee helping us was very kind, apologetic, and explained they've been having issues with the Covina location's online ordering system. We ordered the Duet Kabob entrée. Overall, the food was good. The beef was especially tender and flavorful, I actually enjoyed it more than the chicken. The hummus was a little bland for my taste. I also paid extra for a side of garlic paste, but it wasn't included with the order. I didn't realize it until I got home, so I should have checked the bag before leaving. The prices also seemed a bit high compared to other Mediterranean restaurants we've visited, where similar meals are more reasonably priced. The restaurant itself looked a little dated and could use some attention. It didn't feel very clean, and the entrance seemed cluttered with gates and signs, which didn't make for the most inviting first impression. Overall, the food was enjoyable, especially the beef, but between the online ordering issue, the missing item, the atmosphere, and the higher prices, I felt the experience could have been better.

The staff here was welcoming and kind and we sat wherever we pleased. The location is quaint but can seat a decent amount of customers. The menu has changed a bit over time. One thing I'd like to mention is the food is consistently good whether your order take-out or dine in. The quality is the same! My personal favorite has always been their Classic Gyro. It's always so stacked with flavor and protein. The combo is a great option too because you can share the massive portion of fries they give you. My husband and I usually order take-out, but on our recent visit, we decided to dine in. We arrived on a Sunday evening (5pm). Parking is shared with other businesses in the plaza. We found one in the shade. The restaurant is small, but they utilize their space well. There are 4 tables and I believe 3 high-top tables as well as outdoor seating. The interior is well-kept and decorated nicely to match the Greek theme. Ordering takes place at the counter, no self-serve kiosk. They have many menu options like sides, gyros, plates, kids menu, family meal, lunch specials, soups, and desserts. My go-to item is their Greek Chicken Pita with Lemon Sauce in place of the tzatziki ($13). I would sometimes order this with a side of fries, but my husband got it in his combo. The reason I order this all the time is because the pita not only tastes amazing, it's also filling! There's grilled chicken, potatoes, pickled onions, greens, and lemon sauce. The pita is thick and has the perfect chew to it. There is so much flavor in every bite! The fries were delicious as well. They were soft on the inside and crisp and seasoned well on the outside. Overall, a great spot for Mediterranean food. I would happily recommend this to anyone!
