Only once can I think of a positive experience which was one I dropped the instrument off for repair about a week and half ago. This was the only time I was not talked down to or made to feel uncomfortable. I've played clarinet for over 20 years...I'm not dumb regarding what I need, etc Today will be my last visit to this store. In early August, we overhauled his clarinet with new pads. My son had some bent keys and things that needed to be addressed recently, but I was surprised to see one of those things was 4 new pads in less than 10 months. I mentioned it to the individual assisting me and he was like no that's normal, etc. He became very condescending towards me. From my experience, that is not normal, so I am within my right to question it. The older gentleman on the back just kind of nodded his head and didn't make any comments. As I was reviewing the receipt with the repairs and examining the instrument, he walked over to the door and stood in a semi confrontational stance and stared at me as if to hurry me up and rush me out of the store. Go to another shop that will appreciate you, your business, and not talk down to you.

I take extreme good care of my guitars and that scratch was not there when I dropped it off. As soon as I got home I played it for a while and there is a massive feedback. They made ir worse. They still charged me $150 and did not want to repay for the damage. I understand that accidents happen but that doesn't mean you don't make it right with the customer. Very upsetting. Never coming back.

We bought a guitar there and we paid $366 in cash and $66 on the card. When we went to return it…read morethey wanted to charge us a 20% restocking fee which would of been fine but after an hour of them telling me they can only put $66 on the card and MAIL ME A CHECK they would not give me cash back AND charge me a 20% restocking fee on top of that I found ridiculous unethical and very poor poor customer service. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you go purchase you musical needs elsewhere. I have never in my life had this kind of treatment or had this done to me at any store ever in my life. They were obviously trying to force the sale on us prevent us from returning the item by making it as difficult as possible. I against my better judgement kept the guitar due to the lack of trust I felt. I honestly believed in my heart I would have never seen that check. Again DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PROPLE they obviously do not care about the customer. In response to your response, you'll refund the card that's fine but you will not refund cash because of some "theft" in the past. That's what safes are for. it isn't right to offer a check to be mailed to your customers for a cash purchase. THATS POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE IN ANY BOOK!! And making it real difficult to return the item with full knowledge of what you were doing IS BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Offering a ridiculous solution to a problem knowing full well I wouldn't go for it and forcing the sale IS BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!! The fact you can't see that and hide behind some ridiculous reasoning IS BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! and like I'd trust you to mail a check. I never said your employee was bad It was your lack of management on the premises to help rectify the situation. The poor guy had to call everyone he could to try and get something done. It was management over the phone and you the owner OVER THE PHONE refusing to make it right in an acceptable manner. Cutting a check for a CASH PURCHASE IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR ANY BUSINESS and I have never had that happen to me ever anywhere. You're the first, congratulations!! (Clap clap clap) I'm sure even you wouldn't stand for it if that happened to you. It's not our problem (the customer) the things that happen in your store. You still need to run a business regardless of theft or anything that happens in the store and provide your customers a good, no correction a great shopping experience. You did not deliver on that. If you know you can't refund cash for a cash purchase that should be the first thing you tell a customer ESPECIALLY AFTER BEING DIRECTLY ASKED ABOUT YOUR RETURN POLICY!!! All your employee did was hand me a sheet stating the 48 hours and the 20% restocking fee. Nowhere on that sheet stated cash purchases will be refunded by mailed check. If that was on the sheet I wouldn't have done business with you. I said my peace you're wrong no matter how you try and justify it in your head. What was done WAS BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE and one of the reason brick-and-mortar stores are dying out. I will be reporting this situation to the BBB and I'll keep posting this review over and over to get the word out there, as is my right. Your employee was great if he reads this I find no fault in what you did. The fact you have only been there a few months running the store on your own is commendable. It was the lack of management on site to handle these situations that was bad and the unwillingness to rectify the problem in a ACCEPTABLE manner. And after reading MANY reviews it seems to be a reoccurring problem. These are pictures of your return policy nothing on there states cash purchase are issued by mailed check. If that is your policy it must be stated. So your 33 year policy statement is false. Nowhere on your sites return policy states anything you said. Now you're dishonest as well. Good job and thank you for that it helps. And by the way I'm the type of person that buys many guitars. if I was provided an acceptable solution to my problem I would of patronized your store for all my guitar needs. Strings, parts, repairs etc...

Most places didn't respond to my request for an estimate and the couple that did wanted me to sign a contract to have the piano tuned every year or pay them a $75 traveling fee to drive from south Austin to Cedar Park. Then I turned to "Thumbtack" to find a piano tuner. Derek was the first to respond. He owns and operates TX PIANOS, and he responded personally. Gave me a reasonable quote on line to tune the piano (which had not been tuned for 5 or 6 years) and replace a broken string. When I asked about travel pay, he said that if he had 2 or more appointments in the same town he did not charge travel pay. It just so happened he had another tuning appointment scheduled a couple of days later in Cedar Park, so he waived the travel pay. He sent me a text to remind me of the appointment. He sent another text with a location tracker to show me where he was when he was on the way to my house. Derek is very personable and easy to work with. Even my big ole' furry Australian Shepherd, who barks at everyone who tries to enter our house, took up with Derek and walked right up to him, allowed a couple of pets, and never barked at him once during the visit. Derek described what he would need to do and completed the job of tuning and replacing the two broken strings in just a little over an hour. The piano sounded great when he finished and it was more "out of tune" than I thought. Due to the age of the piano and the mallets, we talked about performing a voicing to bring back the rich soft timbre the piano had when it was new, 40 years ago. Again, I received a very reasonable price for the service whenever I decide to have it done. He also put me on a "check-in" schedule for every 6 months to see if I have any other needs throughout the year. It was a pleasure talking with Derek about the piano and we even joked around about our playing techniques - or lack thereof! But most of all, he was reliable and honest and an expert at getting my old grand back in tune. I will not be looking for a piano technician again now that I have met Derek. If you need piano repair or just a tuning, you will not be disappointed with TX PIANO.

Since ours was brand new and only had one service before, he gave some good recommendations for when it needed tuning again and on how to care for the piano. Honest and no pressure. I would highly recommend him. Best of all as a bonus, he loves dogs and got along with both of ours.
