New theatre name: Matthew McConaughey Cinema & I'm here for it! Still enjoy seeing movies here even though the Alamo chain business practices with employees is questionable. Let's hope they get their sh*t together and do right by their workers. Especially now that MM's name graces the venue.

This was my first time watching a movie at Alamo Drafthouse Mueller. While this was one of the smaller theatres I have frequented, it felt cozy and intimate. You can order food and drinks via a QR code at your seat, which is a nice perk. I chose our seats and in retrospect, I should have selected seats in a higher row. The auditorium did not have a steep incline as I anticipated, however, the seats were fine. Unfortunately, I am not a fan of the communal bathrooms, which is the design at the Alamo Drafthouse. The good news is that you have a urinal or restroom option with associated signage. Like all movie theatres, the food and drinks are overpriced. In addition, you have pay a 18% service charge along with a tip. I ordered bottomless popcorn and unsweet tea and paid over $20. Interestingly, the popcorn came in a metal bowl...perhaps a sustainability measure. The popcorn was fresh and buttery. Now for the best part...we went to see the Devil Wear Prada 2. Amazing movie with many salient themes... as a side note, I know every single line of the original Devil Wears Prada. Definitely will be watching this movie again...

I've always enjoyed coming to Alamo Drafthouse Mueller, but my most recent visit left me pretty disappointed. I have had some really amazing experiences here coming to movie screenings over the years. You can order the tickets on the Alamo app but they charge a service fee that was nearly $7 for 3 tickets. So I waited until I got to the theater to purchase the tickets for our group. We went on Tuesday for $7 movie tickets. When someone in our party inadvertently bought an extra ticket, the staff quickly refunded my purchase and transferred the seat. The customer service here is great! The theaters are all upstairs and they have reclining seats. The seats do not recline back as far as I would like, but they are comfortable. We got to pick out our seats when purchasing the tickets. The new phone-based ordering system really takes away from the experience. One of the things that made Alamo special was the easy, low-disruption way of ordering during the movie. Now, having to use your phone feels distracting and honestly a bit inconvenient especially in a dark theater where you're trying to stay immersed in the film. On top of that, the added 18% service charge feels excessive, especially since the level of service has shifted more onto the customer with the new system. It doesn't quite add up. To make matters worse, the food prices have noticeably gone up. I don't mind paying for quality, but with the higher prices, added fees, and a less seamless experience, it just doesn't feel like the same value anymore. I spent nearly $40 for a Parmesan herb popcorn and a watermelon mezcal margarita. That is dinner pricing for movie concessions. I really hope they reconsider some of these changes, because this used to be one of my go-to theaters in Austin. Now I feel like I am being nicked and dimed for every little thing. If you don't close out your bill within 20 minutes, they auto close your tab and add 5% tip on top of the 18% service charge. This is really getting ridiculous and pricing people out.

We had an amazing time at Alamo Drafthouse!! We saw the new Michael Jackson movie it was fantastic. Our server was friendly and quick when we needed drink refills. The margarita was very tasty. The little cartoon warning us to turn our phones off was hilarious. We had a great time!

Love the concept as for me saves time to do dinner with the movie. Alamo Drafthouse is great. The the tater provided validated parking at the garage for 3.5 hours which is nice. This gives plenty of time before and after the movie. I've been several times typically buying my ticket day of in the Alamo app. Super easy to walk up the stairs to the theaters once you arrive and head straight to your seat. Tickets are checked once sat and be ready to provide a card for payment. Ordering is easy and for the most part comes out quick. I'm in love with their popcorn! The clarified butter really makes a difference. Pepperoni pizza is a fav as well all though sometimes the crust can't be hit or miss in the middle. Chicken sandwich also good and the soft baked pretzel. Sweet tea all the way! Tickets are dropped during the last 15-20 min. Sign and then you're on you way.

As a theater itself, this place is fine. The food here is kind of sub par. The mozzarella sticks were just okay and the fish tacos were not that great. It had too much pickled onions and lotta lime. The breaded fish was kind of thin and not great breading. I won't order the tacos again. They also seemed to have forgotten our food 58 mins into the movie and we had to press the button to chase the order. The slushies though, were really good. Whiskey and banana chocolate go together really well. Best thing to do is eat before or after the movie. Cause there are a lot of better food places a walk away......unless the company event is paying for everything.

I like going to Alamo for their strict no phones, no distractions, and no small kids policies. The fact that you can order actual food and drinks is great too, I like their boozy shakes. While watching F1 movie today, we had Whiskey Banana Split Shake and Cold Brew Turbo Shake. Taking one star off because we didn't get our food order for a little over an hour since ordering. Had to remind a service staff member about our food. Mozzarella sticks were just okay, arrived warm, not hot. Fish tacos were pretty good but a little overload on onions.

An always great theatre with amazing atmosphere and staff. That being said, I want to highlight, particularly, how genius the new QR ordering system is. Although my phone has trouble picking up the dimly lit code, it's simple enough to ask a nearby patron to shine their phone light for me. Easy peasy! The exposition doesn't matter to most of us anyway. There is, however, a new problem unique to the Mueller location! The cell service is abysmal in Mueller, and Alamo Drafthouse's elegant solution is to graciously funnel guests onto their unencrypted public wifi network. To me, this shows a indominable commitment to helping the tech-savvy less fortunate. It's now easier than ever for some of the more determined patrons to access the financial information of anyone ordering this way (so everyone!). As someone who loves to donate but hates receiving praise for it, I really appreciate a system that may allow people more deserving than me to benefit from my bank card details anonymously. Another thing, I LOVE the new layer of audience participation Alamo has introduced by inviting patrons to police one another with their cell phones during the movie. It's nice when everyone gets to be both the problem and the solution. Finally, nothing completes the premium experience like getting a text from Alamo in the third act reminding me to close my tab. I've always felt the emotional climax of a film could use a small, administrative, interruption. 10 billion stars if I could. Ps. I got a great idea I'm willing to share... We should fully replace the pre-show anti-talking & texting warning with a live customer satisfaction survey everyone has to complete on their phones before the movie even starts. Feedback is invaluable.

Is there enough room around the seats to get up and go to the bathroom without disturbing others in the row?

Yes there's plenty! The servers have to walk up and down the aisle in front of the seats to deliver food/ take orders for perspective

There are a lot of tables and there was a big screen up to watch basketball when I visited! I haven't sat inside, but it looks nice as well and much quieter / at least when I visited. Service: 4/5 Had no issues, just ordered at the counter and voi la! Friendly person took our order & the only complaint is there were no cups outside for water - think it's just busy and this happens! Food & Beer 4/5: I had the magic carpet sour and it was very good, although I will say it isn't as sour as a typical sour would be. Nice drink overall and I think someone who isn't a sour fan may still enjoy it - it gives more cider honestly. My friend and I split the veggie quesadillas and the chips and salsa. The veggie quesadilla was good, the mushrooms they put in it were fab - I wouldn't say it's exceptional for the price but it was good. The chips and salsa were also good, but the salsa was a much thicker green and cilantro based something - I wouldn't exactly call it salsa, but it was good, just a bit misleading. I think they should add a descriptor on the menu, salsa usually means red unless otherwise noted imop.

Parking is very limited and we had to park far down the street. I was hungry and needed my caffeine fix. The tacos did take a while to come out and it was because they forgot my order. I ordered a bacon egg cheese bfast taco, chorizo egg cheese bfast taco and a coffee. Each taco was around $6-$7 which is kind of insane that tacos have gotten that expensive. They were just alright and only flour tortillas. Coffee was given in a nice mug. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Spent around $15 for two breakfast tacos and a coffee. Bfast tacos were alright and I think ill stick to the beers next time.

Gonna get busted at Busty's…read more This is my favorite dive bar in Austin. This place has personality and charm oozing out the wazoo. You can already tell this place has got character and kitsch to spare. The interior design has an old 70s biker bar with pool tables galore. When you go outside, there are so many artifacts of old on display making the ambience much more immersive. As for the food, I got the chicago dog and onion petals and my friends got various other dishes that we all shard. Perfect bar food. It's bar food so you just gotta expect bar food. But it was all still really good. The fries and petals were seasoned really well and I also got an espresso martini which was heavenly. I wish it had the bean though. The hot dog really got me correct.

The drink was good, but the tab felt high. I had watched two bartenders pour a strict 1 oz of Mezcal Union, so I asked the bartender today how much the drink cost. She told me $13. When I noted that felt a bit steep for a 1 oz pour, she shut down and said she didn't set the prices. Later, I was chatting with my boyfriend about how neither Busty's nor Frazier's list drink prices on their menus. The customer sitting next to me jumped into my conversation and said she was just saying the same. I mentioned the Mezquito was $13 for a 1 oz pour. The bartender overheard, looked annoyed, and snapped, "It's actually 1.5 oz." I am unsure why she did not say this earlier when I had first asked. I later tried to smooth things over, suggesting that maybe a newer bartender had just under-poured last week by mistake, adding that 1.5 oz was completely reasonable for the price. Instead of de-escalating, she told me I was cut off because she "didn't appreciate" me talking about the prices to other guests. I am writing this review right after leaving and I think it's clear that I'm not drunk. I have never seen a guest treated so poorly--let alone a regular--simply for discussing menu prices. It's an incredibly poor way to handle a situation. Regulars are the lifeblood of neighborhood bars, but the brunette bartender with the wavy hair just ensured Busty's lost two of theirs.
