Went to see Air Jordan today. This was my first experience at Alamo. Loved it. I had a margarita and the Best churro popcorn. I almost ate a bowl by myself. Price for a huge bowl of flavored popcorn was like $10. Very reasonable. Service was fantastic. They checked on us several times but weren't annoying. Alamo Drafthouse Mueller Ever since this theater opened I heard great things about it. So today was a nice day and perfect to explore not just this theater but other new stuff at Mueller. This theater building also contains one fried chicken restaurant and two more on the way, and an Irish pub across from it. The build design is long and rectangular. You enter and the sales guy is right there. I already had printed my tickets at home so just talked to him and said they are selling Jaws beer glasses. I then notice the Barrel O' Fun bar entrance which looked very cool. Every Drafthouse has a unique themed bar. Anyway I walked in and see a cool circus themed bar with a stage. There are funky mirrors all around to stand in front of. The booth seating are old ride chairs and plenty of long table seating. The bar itself is cool to with lots draft beer to choose from. The actual movie theaters are on the second level and can walk up stairs or elevator. Every theater is numbered. The restrooms here are gender neutral which think indoor port o potties with a communal sink. So each toilet is in a separate closet. I like it where don't have to hear or see the shadow of the person next to me. The theater itself is a major upgrade from Slaughter where each chair has its own little table and the chairs are leather lazy boys. Press a button and it reclines and feet go up. The tech is updated with better picture on screen. We saw "Baby Driver" and enjoyed it. As usual you pay before the movie by swiping your credit card and after movie hang out at the bar. And there is a parking garage behind it but not free but Drafthouse will validate it for you read more

This was my first time at Alamo Mueller. What a treat! The atmosphere was great. The seats are big and cushy with reclining available. Each seat also has their own table top. I love that this theater also has a push button so your server knows when you're ready to place your order. We ordered ranch and red pepper flakes with our pizza which we did not get and I had to ask for a second time. We also ordered the buffalo cauliflower which arrived with no buffalo sauce. This has become my go-to movie theater and subsequently bar (don't judge me). I like this theater because I always come late at night and the floor is never sticky. They have a good beer selection and the cocktails are typically well made. The reclining seats are slightly too comfortable because I have fallen asleep in there before making me miss some crucial pieces of movies. Maybe that's more my fault though. The food options are great. The Philly is tasty and the popcorn is always extra buttery. I appreciate how attentive and (normally) prompt the waitstaff is without being obtrusive during the films. Wouldn't let me in to see the movie because I arrived 16 minutes (instead of 15 minutes) after the start time because I work at the nearby Children's hospital and was unable to leave work on time. I would not recommend any healthcare heroes or service employees come here as they lack understanding. I saw films at the very 1st Alamo Drafthouse in the '90's. What a cool place. Lots of fun indie movies and films that don't screen in the Multiplex. Bucket o' Beer!? Yes, that was on the menu, and affordably....Well this Drafthouse in my neighborhood is different. It's a lot more special. I mean $$$pecial. A burger and fries =$$$, A smallish pizza =$$$, a beer =$$.... When it opened the food was AMAZING and the prices were $ or maybe $$. Now, it's popcorn and a soda and I try to dine beforehand. Staff are kind and helpful but 18% mandatory service charge? Isn't that supposed to be MY decision? And as far as indie movies and cool foreign films etc, not a chance! It's kiddie flix and Blobbusters. I like fun flix but this neighborhood cinema could use some thoughtful movies as well (I've written letters, no response). If you have never experienced the Alamo Drafthouse, I highly recommend checking it out for a unique movie-going experience. They are very strict about their no-talking-during-the-movie policy, which is great for enjoying your movie in peace. You reserve your seats through your tickets and are expected to show up on time. The best part is that you can order food and drinks to be brought directly to your seat which has a small table attached to it. My fiance and I have loved going to the Alamo for any movie that we want to see in-theater. They have cut down a little on their menu recently, but they still have some great options for drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), entrees, and snacks including the best popcorn. Keep in mind, the darkness of the theater might make it difficult to see your food, unless you bring it close to your lap where a small light from underneath the table shines. I typically order their fried chicken sandwich which comes with a pickle and fries, and can be tricky to eat with my hands in the dark, so I have also ordered their cobb salad before which was more filling and worth it than I expected. I highly recommend getting to the theater early (they open the theaters 30 minutes before show time) so that you can get your order in early with the server, but otherwise, they come over to get your order and check your ticket(s) once you arrive. They also have "order cards," basically small pieces of paper, and a small pen at each table so that you can write down what you want and stick it up in the slot at the front of your table. They are pretty quick about coming to grab them and getting your order in. This location in particular has been our favorite so far in Austin. It is decently sized and very cool with its decor and movie posters galore. As a small note, the entrance area itself is very small and leads directly to a humongous staircase that leads to the second floor where all the "theaters" are located. This theater is located in the small shopping/dining area right by Mueller Lake Park, so if you feel like hanging out before or after the movie, the area is very walkable. Even at its busiest, there is plenty of parking available in the public garage behind the theater and the theater validates parking so remember to take your parking ticket with you! read more

This review is long overdue. I thought about it and ultimately decided I needed to post it. During a screening of Dune earlier this year, the film was so blurry you couldn't even read the words. The staff had put the wrong film type on the projector for that theater room/screen. The staff didnt say anything to us, it took tons of people complaining before they admitted it. But even then, they lied and said "your eyes will adjust." Not in the mood for a migraine, no thanks. Finally the staff did say they had known about it all day, which makes it worse because they should have refunded us. I am giving them 2 stars instead of 1 because after all the back and forth they accommodated us by letting us sit in a later screening with the correct film / projector / screen setup. The fact that they were willingly screening an oscar-worthy film like Dune under those viewing circumstances is just embarrassing. read more

I've never waited in line for the bathroom (because there are so many) and the food and service is always great. This has become my most favorite Alamo Drafthouse yet because of several things - easy (validated) parking, the reclining leather theater seats, individual tables per seat, a hook for your purse (or backpack) on said table, cup holders in the arm rest, and individual single stall bathrooms! What a wonderful time I had in the last 2 visits I had to see movies here. Please take the stairs (if you are able to) to see the view of Mueller area and all of the food trucks that are posted outside of this spot. The view on the 2nd floor is awesome as you walk around and to your theater so be sure to check it out. The Drafthouse staff seemingly close these big curtains in front of the windows upstairs so that the glaring bright white light doesn't blind you as you come out of the theater. At night those curtains are drawn back and I recommend you walk around the top floor to see the view (and construction) of Mueller. P.S. if you cannot or do not want to take the grand stairway up to the theaters the elevator is located in the Barrel O Fun venue off to the far right when you walk in. read more

My usual Alamo Drafthouse is SouthLamar and I have been to others was well--Slaughter Lane, Up North on Anderson. And I love the Mueller area and wanted to see the new theater. There is a large parking garage behind the theater (they validate parking) so that is easy. They also use your electronic ticket to validate your seat so that is also easy and eliminates another step of having to print your ticket at the theatre. Like that! The theatre that I was in (#1) was much larger than most of the Alamo Theatres--more regular size. So the servers have a lot of people to cover. They did a good job with that but I would recommend arriving a bit early to help that process if you plan to order food (and why not? Right?!). As others have mentioned they have the new stadium seating--each row is a bit higher than the previous one and the chairs are borderline loungers--wide and pretty comfy. Of course it is clean and new and doesn't smell like stale popcorn which is a super big plus. The restrooms are all one gender--there is a urinal room and then a line for the individual stalls and the doors go all the way down to the floor. There is a common wash trough which is quick and easy to use. The restroom situation works well and moves quickly. No issues and appreciate the gender statement. Theaters are upstairs. I'm sure they have an elevator but I didn't' see it. The stairs might be a bit difficult to navigate for some. The theater is nice, new, well thought out. Of course you get the great and innovative Alamo marketing and film curation along with their regular food and beverage choices which are very extensive for a theater. I am downtown so I don't know if i will get to this theater often but it was a great experience and if you drive often (which I don't) and can get their easily, it is a great new theatre. Honestly changed my perception of going to the movies. Their viewer policies are exactly what I want to enjoy a film in peace. The food is an added bonus, fast-fab quality with a liquor license. The ability to choose one's seats is an added bonus. This was a very nice movie theater. They have a food menu with a descent variety of food for everyone in the family, as well as a full bar. The staff was nice and was very polite and took time to explain the process since it was our first time. A great place to watch a movie! Food, drinks, and watching a movie is a great way to have a night out and this place is great at it! They keep their movie costs affordable along with the menu prices. Ambiance/Service: This location is super new and it obviously shows. The seats recline, its super clean, and the sound and movie quality is great. They also do fun trivia on certain days there as well. The staff at this location is very friendly and i have never had a bad experience and have been to this theater many times. Food/Drinks: Alamo does a really good job in keeping their quality high. I have eaten at Alamo many times and have honestly never had a bad thing to eat. I have been to other movie theaters that offer food, and 9/10 times their quality is super low. Not here. They also have a great beer selection on draft which is nice while watching a movie. I don't know who started the "Alamo-like" model, but Alamo's one of the best when it comes to executing this business model. And they have an app now. I've been drinking at Bar of Fun (it's connected to this Alamo) for months now, and I finally went to see a movie at Alamo. I bought a ticket on impulse to see Black Panther, and I scored the very last seat. It was also my first time[1] sitting in the first row. Chadwick Boseman is HUGE. Shout-out to this Alamo for sporting gender neutral bathrooms. There's a whole line of stalls and a whole line of sinks and no Men/Women signage. Do your duty and get to your movie! Be warned!!!!! Alamo now adds an 18% "service fee" on your food and drinks bill then they asks you to add a tip for your server. This is so wrong that tonight after watching Dune iI and spending more than $100 on food and drinks, when the bill came I had already received a notice from my Amex Platinum card that they closed out my tab before distributing everyone's tabs. It included the 18% "service fee" and still left the "tip" line blank. I protested and wrote "Give my 18% service fee to my actual server and I put $0 in the tip area. In addition, Alamo's food has decreased in quality and quantity. I don't know if they are still recouping COVID losses or just gouging customers. I feel bad for the servers but if there is a mandatory "service fee" I expect it go to the servers negating the need for an additional tip. I'm a long time Alamo customer, and have spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars there over the years. Unless I hear from management about this issue, my spouse and I will never go to Alamo again. As theatres die to steaming services, the competition among theatres is high.Alamo must earn my business now.i don't care what my status in their "loyalty" program is. First time at an Alamo! I gave it 4 stars because yeah I am a fan! but not 5 stars cause of costs. Everyone knows how expensive movies are but at Alamo it's sorta like an event?! You have to pay for the movie ticket and then you pay for food/service. So at the end of the night we paid around $60/70 for 2 people. This was also having dinner before the movie and yeah we did have a lot to drink but like I said it's like an event! You splurge :) Definitely not something I would say to do for every movie you wish to see. The service was great! They come to you, trying their best not to walk in your sight. They whisper and communicate through writing or a thumbs up. You just write on this piece of paper and then they come to pick it up at any time during the movie! You can get as many drinks as you want, any food, full service! You never have to leave for anything! The bathrooms are all single stall so gender doesn't matter cause all the stalls are together. The closest theater to our house, and must say it's a great one. The Best one! A modern themed Alamo, with a great lobby with all those retro themed, n old movie posters. Really like the spaceship(Its on the lobby where theaters are). They have individual tables and not those old school benches.. which I hated. Being a Petite I always hated as it obstructed my view. Nice comfy seats with a little recliner. Super nice staff and seating is chosen when purchasing tickets. Arrive early to catch up for hilarious onscreen related footage before your movie starts! Menu is ok - would like to have some more Vegetarian/ vegan options but the food is tasty.. Love their squash and goat cheese pizza !!! Those I find it's little pricey! They have an awesome bar - Barrel-O-Fun which often has live music.. Its always fun to enjoy a drink & music before heading to movie. Sign-up for the Victory Alamo rewards program and they have reward programs for the members. No issue with parking, ample available on streets or in the parking garage and don't forget .. I came here for the first time and I must say, I am impressed with how Alamo Drafthouse have upgraded their theatre to keep up with the current theatre trends. This Alamo Drafthouse has large cushioned recliner chairs. Although it doesnt recline as far back as other chairs (reclines at most 45 degrees angle), it is still comfortable to sit in for at least two hours. Each seat has an individual table so no need to squeeze and share a table with the person next to you. The restrooms are unisex so be prepared to wash your hands next to your opposite gender. Food was great. I got the chilaquiles and a cup of hot chocolate. The chilaquiles came in a hot pan and it tasted much better than the chilaquiles I've had in other Alamo Drafthouses. The eggs were fried overeasy and the tortillas were nice and crispy. As a meal, the dish had a lot of nice flavors. I would recommend if you enjoy some crunch to your meal, as the tortilla chips were my favorite part of the dish. Hot chocolate came in a small cup and tasted very sweet and rich. The rest of the service is good and the waiter was friendly. Only thing was that waiter had served everyone their drinks and forgot about mine so I had to place another order for it during the movie. Just left Alamo Drafthouse Mueller and am disappointed and very upset at how we were treated. During the movie, my friend had her foot up and a server rudely snapped at her, telling her she can't put her foot there and to put it down. Then later on, my friend received a text from her brother that said something about an emergency. Before she could decide if she should leave the theater to see what the emergency is, a different server came and also rudely snapped at her, telling her she needed to put her phone away. We are aware of the phone policy and of course Alamo should enforce it, but both servers were extremely disrespectful in tone and short with my friend. She left the theater and tried to talk calmly to the servers and a manager about how she was treated, and they wouldn't listen to her or allow her to return into the theater. After the movie was over, my group of friends stayed in the lobby, asking to speak to the servers or manager or at least be given the names of the servers who had mistreated my friend so that we could file a formal complaint. The manager, Elliott, refused to tell us their names, didn't apologize, and was treating us as if we were going to cause a scene, when all of us were taking turns speaking calmly and respectfully the entire time. By this point my friend is crying, we are trying to discuss the issue with Elliott, and he doesn't seem to be apologetic at all. Let it also be noted that my friend is black and I myself am not but we were all feeling that she was being treated this way because of prejudice and yet we didn't raise our voices, we were respectful, but Elliott did not seem to care that we were upset at all. I'm extremely disappointed and upset by how my friend was treated and how we all were shoved aside and no consequences seem to be given to the servers who acted so harshly. We had the worst experience of watching a movie ever. Entire family was very eager for the Top Gun to be released so we could watch it; last minute our daughter had to finish her homework so she decided to join once the actual movie starts. We live walking distance near the park / theatre. Me and my wife came first; I checked at the front desk and also told him that we have a third person who will join us later. He was okay and guided us upstairs. When our daughter came a little later past movie start time; the guy downstairs didn't allow her in, even though we had pre purchased the tickets. It came down to me leaving the theater and coming down to the office to help get my daughter in, but unfortunately even after manager came my daughter was not allowed , quoting the late policy of Alamo to give customers best experience not to disturb them during movie. Late policy is no-where displayed but in some fine print on the website. This sounded like a hypocrite move , because we had a number of customers who were already moving in and out for whatsoever reasons (bio break or food); There were at least 3 servers going around trying to serve all the people and they crossed us at least 30 plus times while we were trying to concentrate on the start of the movie ; How could my daughter be causing disturbance by coming through the side and just taking a seat? I had to call my wife from downstairs and leave the theater and not complete the movie. What a terrible experience ? The manager gave coupons ... of course had them refund our tickets ... this is not what we had planned for .. This was last night 6 / 11 ... We went this morning to AMC 14 at Barton Creek and watched the movie. AMC rocks .. Alamo should learn customer experience from AMC ... Never going there again as the staff has no training and the company only cares about revenue. They had no regrets to see me and my family walking out, even after manager and another senior staff had arrived to resolve the dispute. read more

My husband and I came here for a rare date night to see the foreign film, Parasite, and we were not disappointed! This Alamo Drafthouse will validate parking tickets from the garage, so parking isn't a problem. It is upstairs above the Barrel O Fun, which I think is a fun location. The seats are comfortable and partially recline. Each one has its own small table with a warm colored light underneath to see the menu. This table and light are small enough and out of the way enough that they don't interfere with the quality of watching the movie. We got the bar-b-que wings, the beerbacoa queso and chips, and a couple glasses of wine. All were worth trying! I appreciated the bathroom which is a wall of individual stalls facing a wall of a long sink and mirrors, which made going for just hand washing easy and negated the man/woman separation problem. read more

I love movies and before I tried Alamo I had decided that I wasn't going to go to the movie theater anymore. Every single place I went to had people talking, playing on their phones and walking around being distracting. I mean why go to a movie if you are not going to watch the damn movie lol. Anyway Alamo is the answer to all that. I love this place, all of them. I am sure it's probably due to staffing but ever since Covid their movie selection and times has suffered and there is just not as much available. I live in this neighborhood so this is my go to theatre. I love the popcorn (real butter), the bathrooms, parking validation, the screenings, single table per seat and the semi-reclining chairs. They have events for kids, sing a-longs, dance parties etc. My only complaint: The servers don't start taking orders soon enough and they interrupt the movie instead of looking for the raised piece of paper. Overall I love the Drafthouse and really appreciate the movie screenings they have with local organizations like the Cap City Black film festival for Get Out and Black Panther and Foster and Adopt nonprofits for Instant Family. read more

I think this is one of the best movie theaters ever! We ordered the Beyond Meat Burger and the Spanakopita Pizza which were both actually higher quality movie foods. Very filling! The service was great - very attentive server and friendly. The rules are so different from any other competing theater in that they'll "kick you out" if you distract others with your phones or loud voices. The chairs were awesome! I love how you can recline! Lastly, I love how there's dim lights under your table bright enough for you to read the menu and your check in a dark room. Would definitely return when back in town. read more

Excellent staff - from ticket counter to servers - professional & friendly - they def wanna please the customer. Love that Alamo shows OLD & NEW films! Saw Avatar last week in 3-D. Amazing to see it again especially in such a comfortable environment. Theatre has been super clean every time I've been there. Bathrooms are pretty clean, too. To Improve: Menu/Food: Needs more healthy "clean food" choices. Lots of fried food. Way too salty. Let the customers add their own salt. Lots of oily thick sauces. They'd make more $ from me if that were the case. More desert choices Poorly lit control buttons: Once the lights go out, it's hard to find the buttons/switches on the ledge where you put your food tray. We took our 3-year old to kid-friendly screening of Frozen 2 at 8:30 a.m. this Sunday. My daughter is quite "spirited" so the whole thing was a bit of an experiment on our part, as it would be her first theater film. In the midst of explainig to her it's okay to be a little loud but she needed to stay in her seat she began to throw a tantrum. To be as polite as possible to the fellow moviegoers I took her out of the theater to try and calm her down. While talking to her and in the midst of all of the stress and frustration of dealing with a three-year-old throwing a tantrum a server walked by and yelled at us, "Yeah you should just go home!" Alamo Drafthouse is no longer the only dinner and a movie game in town, this really was the last straw for me when it comes to movie going experiences at an Alamo Drafthouse. They really have gone downhill since the Tim League days, it seems franchising and growth has turned the tide on their service. I will not be returning to see a film at any of the Alamo Drafthouse locations with or without my children. Absolutely no excuse for staff yelling at my child. read more

Went to the Dope Brunch this weekend. Great show and great way to beat the heat. The problem was Alamo Draft house. Advertised as a brunch... there was no brunch! Just regular menu. No table service, had to go to the bar for drinks and food. Bartenders were not great, kitchen totally underperformed. We got two pizzas on the cauliflower crust. We left most of it there uneaten. Sparse toppings and cooked to death. Since there is no service, nobody to address any issues with. Price for a 10" gluten free pizza was about$20. Queso was watery and needed flavor and took almost 30 minutes to arrive. Too bad the Alamo Draft House didn't try as hard as the stand-up comedians. Having been to Ipic and Moviehouse and eatery...our local choice trails far behind in food quality and service. For $125 for three people plus the comedy tickets for 2 apps and two pizzas and three drinks...ill find another way to support new comedians in Austin. read more

First time at this location, and it's beautiful! They put a lot of thought into the design, and it shows. The validated parking garage is a definite plus, as is the outdoor patio upstairs. Didn't eat, so can't speak to the quality of food vs. other locations, but the beer was cold and waitress was great. The gender neutral restrooms were spacious and plentiful. I do wish the seats reclined more (in the theater, not the restrooms). Not sure if the foot rests only lift partway so people can walk through, but the degree to which they lift puts you at a weird angle that wasn't comfortable at all...pretty sure the ones at Slaughter recline normally. Regardless, I'd happily come all this way for another movie in the future. read more

Holy cinema, this Alamo I'll never forget. How is the food, service, ambiance, seats and parking better here? There's nothing to complain about at the newest Alamo Drafthouse. I had the pleasure of getting a couple of seats in an empty theater here and color me impressed. The seats are made of leather and they mechanically recline. All you have to do is press a button and you're in lay down town. There's also cup holders on either side of you and your own table too. It's incredible. The food here is somehow better than other locations, too. They not only offer a couple brunch items all day, but they also offer a ridiculously great tasting buffalo cauliflower too. Is that at the other locations? I'm not sure but it should be. They have a neat bar downstairs to top this brilliant review off but I'll save that for another day. read more

Wow! Alamo has really outdone themselves with this newest location in Mueller! The parking was easy in the adjacent garage and free when validated inside, the drink options were expansive, the food is creative and fresh, the seating is simple and extremely comfortable. They installed recliners with cup holders in every seat! There are six screens at this location and they still show new releases, movie parties, throwback movie events, sing-alongs, and Master Pancake series. We saw the Master Pancake screening of Grease and it was awesome! Think MST3000 happening live over the movie with and drinking game and plenty of jokes, before, during, and after the movie. These guys are well-rehearsed, informative, and damn funny and I'll be back for more comedy. Go early to the theater to grab and drink at the bar inside this Alamo and check out all the art and fixtures around the joint. read more
