    Cobb Garden Salad

I came here last week to watch the Devil wears Prada 2 with my boyfriend and we just had so much fun. We always have so much fun when we come to this location of the Alamo. My boyfriend loves the food here I sometimes kind of struggle to eat a little bit healthier and this time went with a Cobb salad, but it was genuinely so delicious. I was hesitating getting some extra dressing on the side, but it definitely didn't even need it. It was delicious as it was and I was genuinely shocked at what a great healthy option they have. I'm a little disappointed that you have to order using QR codes now and people don't come around so the service is just different but the ambience is great and the movies are great and I love the fact that they have specific tailored trailers for every movie that you go to so yeah, overall a really great experience and I love the establishment.

Mobile Ordering has finally been implemented at slaughter lane and I HATED it. I will be attending movies at Alamo but I refuse to order food. These seems unfair to the waitstaff who I believe, don't like mobile ordering either.

I went to Alamo Drafthouse to watch a movie. I drove into the parking lot, parked, walked in, went to the ticket stand, got my ticket, went to the theater room and found my seat. It was quick but I did go on a Friday in the middle of the day. I pressed the button for service and not long after the person that would be taking care of my order showed up. He was friendly and answered my questions. I placed my order, gave him my credit card, and waited. I ordered my usual. A pretzel, a burger with tortilla chips and this time I got a chocolate chip cookie. The pretzel was soft and hot. The queso and mustard that came with it were good. The burger was delicious and the chocolate chip cookie was a nice sweet to finish off my meal. Overall Alamo is still one of my favorite places to go watch a movie and enjoy a good meal.

The theater had great sound and projection. I had terrific conversations with each staff member I interacted with. The food was up to Alamo standards. Overall this is a solid movie theater. All that said, this theater isn't very unique as an Alamo. The theme of Little Shop of Horrors is weakly presented in the lobby. And the theater feels like a generic theater with tickets being sold from a line in front of the register; the bar that she sits behind looks like a concession stand. Was this building a different theater before it was an Alamo?

The QR code menus are unacceptable. So is the 18% mandatory gratuity. Won't be coming back to ANY location.

Outside there's a cute playground, gated, for the younger kiddos. Perfect for those who want to keep the kids occupied but also enjoy a snacky snack and a drink. There are plenty of gluten free options, and we ended up getting the Yardbird Chicken Sandwich on a gluten free bun, a complimentary Reuben sandwich on a gluten free bun, fish and chips, and a burger for the kiddo. All of them were great! Hubby enjoyed the fish and chips and the spray bottle with malt vinegar! Such a fun touch, nice and crispy, and the chips were crunchy and delicious. I actually really liked my chicken sandwich. While it looks standard, it was such a good bite, super filling, and since gluten free, I got a side salad which was nice and simple and light. The Reuben was GREAT! I was so excited I could have it since on a gluten free bun. The corned beef wasn't super greasy or heavy or too salty which I really appreciated, and the aioli was great to balance out all other parts of the sandwich. The slaw, pickles, everything were all so good, and definitely worth getting in the future! And our kiddo demolished the burger in a heartbeat! Add some great service - super kind, funny, and made me feel so safe eating there with an allergy. He was great, and even though he was busy, he did such a great job coming and checking in! We also had a pint of Lazarus Rice Lager which has been treated and is consumable for those with a gluten allergy (not Celiac)! I love Lazarus beers so much, especially this rice lager! So light and perfect on a hot day! We would definitely come back any time! Defintely worth the stop!

We waited about 5-7 minutes before someone came to greet us at the hostess station. After greeting us she seated us. Once we were seated we waited awhile before she came back with menus and she took our drink order. After a few minutes she brought us our waters and took our order. The hostess/waitress was really busy but despite that she did an excellent job taking care of us. For our starters we shared two items. The Carnitas Poutine which comes with fries, pulled pork, cheese, jalapenos and red onions. This was really good. The pulled pork mixed with the other ingredients was filling and could be a meal on its own. We also shared the fried cheese curds. They came with a tomato sauce and a buttermilk sauce that you could dip your curds in. These were really good when they came out. The cheese was nice nice and stretchy and the exterior wasn't very crunchy but added texture. Both sauces were good and each had a distinct flavor. For our main meal we all shared a bowl of the Truffle Fries. They aren't on the menu but the waitress told us that if you request them the chef can make them. They were really good fries. My husband and son both ordered the Southwest Pimento Burger which comes with beef, pimiento cheese, jalapenos, a tostada, corn relish, and aioli. They said that the burger was really good. I ordered the Harvest Burger cooked Medium. It comes with beef, cabbage, apple jam, aioli and cheese. I ordered mine with swiss cheese instead of cheddar cheese. The burger was delicious. It was cooked perfectly. I could taste all of the combined ingredients and really liked the sweet and salty flavor of it. It was just balanced so well. Overall Oasthouse is a good lunch spot. The service was good despite the waiting plus they have a variety of starters and delicious burgers.

Taylor was our bartender and she was nice. She informed us that they have a limited late night menu which was fine with us. My friend ordered a cheese pizza and we split an order of the chips and salsa. The food was fine for what it was. During the day, they have more options like burgers, sandwiches, salads, and pizza. We also had cocktails. My friend had the Grapefruit 'Tini while I had the Pomegranate Lemon Drop Martini. We both enjoyed our drinks. I like flavored lemon drop martinis, and I'm not sure that I've ever had a pomegranate lemon drop before this visit. The bar is moderate in size, but they do have a patio area. It was very chill during our visit, but I imagine it gets more lively during big games.

Bright and sunny, wide open with lots of natural light, tasteful hanging planters, and minimalist decor, there's nowhere to hide. It's a place to see and be seen, but not nearly as pretentious as that sounds. They just care about the details and it shows, including the attentive service and well balanced drinks. Though I feel like I should crawl back into the dark, dank dive bars that I know best, it's a gorgeous breath of fresh air for those good hair days. Generous parking lot, easy off the highway, good evening hours. The only thing I'll knock it for is being so far south! This entire place feels like a cash grab following the mezcal trend. It's positioned as being a tequila/mezcal spot but their drinks are more basic than cocktails I can order at the airport. When I asked questions about the mezcal they use and offer the bartenders replies were always dealt with either annoyance and limited info or just an "I don't know." Plus it's $$$ you tip on top of the tip they already add but say nothing about? The basic cocktails that are known as Mexican street vendor drinks (not supposed to be $$$) can cost you over $20 alone! Then to be shady about tipping ... cash grab without a good experience. The there's the atmosphere... very limited parking shared with MANY other more busy bars, super loud inside because of no soft surfaces, and the worst part of all... the bench seats are built just tall enough that unless you're super tall, you'll have to sit at the edge of the bench and actively practice good posture. This more than the other things makes me want to leave immediately. You designed a bar to be pretty but in no way functional to its use. It's been a while since my last visit and honestly I chalked all this up to Austin's trend chasing entrepreneurs typical disconnected launch until I had AMAZING cocktails at another new spot that truly impressed with their same priced cocktails that were far far more intricate and creative PLUS they didn't try to con me out of more tip AND their space was warm, and inviting with truly exceptional customer service. That experience reminded me that inflation isn't the only thing making life more expensive ... it's also businesses delivering far less value than promised and demanding we are supremely grateful for their limited effort. If you don't want to leave the neighborhood but you still want a somewhat decent margarita .... it ain't here. Pay half the price at Bodhi's in the same parking lot.
