We arrived an hour and a half prior to the movie starting (instead of eating somewhere else) so that we were allowed into the movie we paid for (company policy, you can not enter once the movie starts) We we're informed that they were running a 45 minute ticket time so we could only order appetizers. We could however enter a half hour early so we were able to get our food before half way through the hour and a half movie. Worst experience. We bought 2 tickets online for date night. We were 30 seconds late to getting to our seats since we went to the bathroom before entering the theater. We were stopped by one of the servers 4 feet from our seats and were told we were not allowed to go to our seats since the movie had just started. He said it was policy that once the movie started we could not stay. We had to leave and go to the ticket counter to get a refund. We were also told by the ticket agent that we could not enter the theater. We will Never go back. Be aware, don't be late or go to your seats first and then get up, disrupt all the people around if you need to go to the bathroom. read more

I've always really like going to this theater but our experience tonight was horrible. We had to make special requests for some of the food items because my wife can't have dairy, none of those requests were honored. I was a big fan of their chicken tenders and dipping sauce in the past but they must have changed it recently and it was not nearly as good. Also, bottom of the tenders were slimy. I ordered a soda which came out after 20 minutes.. 40 minutes went by before my wife got a water.. I ended up bringing the water to her because I was going to the attendee area to ask what the heck was going on. I was offered the opportunity to bring the water to her. So brought it to her and then went out in the hallway and had a chat with one of their managers. Such a shame to see what's become of my favorite movie theater. I've had the opportunity to eat here a couple of times and loved both times. Last time I got one of the limited time flat breads that was tropical themed. It had crispy pork belly, jalepenos, pineapple, and red sauce with basil. Delicious! It was served quickly and delivered hot. I've enjoyed the movies here too, and love their pre-movie clips. I came here for the weekend with my husband for date night. The 2 front counter ladies where we purchased tickets were very quiet and just stared at us. We were thrown off because it was our first time there. The bar was great. A female bartender helped us with our drinks and kind of explained to us how things are ran at the movies. Food and service was great in the theater. The seats recline and were comfy. The food was delicious and seemed fresh, way better than regular movie theater food. They already add an 18% service charge to your bill so anything extra is a tip for staff. After the movie, we went back to the bar to relax and look at the movie merchandise they were selling. If I was back in the area, I would come back. This place is a great idea for date night. read more

Want to go see a movie on a Monday night. I was asked to leave a quarter of the way through the movie. I received a note that said to keep it down. Before I was even given a chance to do so. It certainly was a new and unique concept for me to have food served at your seat while watching a movie. The theater itself it small and cute and seats fewer people than most chain screens. The seats are comfy and I like that food is served at your seat. We ordered the basil pesto pizza which tasted okay but lacked seasoning and was way too greasy. The popcorn is good and is also a lot! I think my favorite was the askinosie chocolate shake and that is probably enough to go with the popcorn and fill you up. It's heavy, creamy and delicious. I think the food is a little pricey and if you think you're going to watch a movie and have dinner, be ready to pay some $$$. I'd definitely go here again to just watch a movie and binge on popcorn and shakes though, not so much for the food. read more

Decided to hit the town and take my wife to the movie theater and splurge on a burger and fries. I guess they rely on the darkness of the movie theater to mask the quality of their food. I promptly sent this back, and spoke with the manager after the movie was over and she seemed non plussed by the photo. Will definitely visit the Alamo again but we'll for sure eat before we go. The experience was nice. Love being able to recline, sip on a beer, and eat a good burger. Food was pricey. An electronic order system might help and make it easier to see the menu, or add more lights. I had to pull out my cell phone and use the flashlight. The short play ad instructing everyone to be quiet was harsh.... giving a gift basket to the offenders by putting the basket over their head and ripping it off...and then followed by stabbing an offender in the throat with a knife. Worst experience I have ever had being at the Alamo Drafthouse. Bought tickets through their site that specifically told me all ages because we took our friends and their baby out never ever said a word to us for 30 whole minutes and went through 10 minutes of the real movie already served alcohols and food and more. Then a rude manager in all black and hat and glasses decided to tell my friends and their baby they needed to leave when I specifically bought these tickets saying all ages. Try to explain the situation with this "manager" and he brushed me off told me the site was working fine and told me I was stupid and sat laughing at me the whole way. 1 how does a 4 month old even count when they don't even know words. 2 how can the site tell me all ages and then I'm the dumb one? Excuse me when I first tried to buy the tickets the day the movie came out it said online there was no showtimes for the whole week. So yes your site is messed up I have a graphic design degree and I build websites glitches happen next time own up to that instead of turning around and boycotting and kicking out a breastfeeding mother because your site messed up? You can't pay our gas back for the movie so that's also crummy. Wait almost a whole hour get served and NOBODY said anything. Also they don't let you express your first amendment right when you have to wait 3 business days to get your money back so I'm not allowed to have freedom of speech with my friends in a parking lot. The Alamo Springfield is my all time favorite place to go. One of the number one reasons I choose to go here so often is because of their great food and drink choices. After the pandemic, which is completely understandable, they removed my two absolute favorite things on the menu. The drink was The BESO DE PEPINO and their cashew chicken. I would give them zero stars if it was possible. Purely due to the female "manager" working Sunday evening October 13, 2019. We agreed to let our 16 year-olds go see the movie IT. We bought the tickets online and walked the kids into the theatre after telling the front door what we were doing and that we approved them to watch the R rated movie for the 2 PM showing. 10 minutes later after having left Alamo and on our way somewhere else, we get a call that the kids were kicked out of the theater for not being old enough. The front office person said we could sign up For this membership that's reduces movies to $5 and would allow them To get into R Rated movies plus it would give them a movie discount. We declined, and when the female manager walked up, we tried to use a little common sense at first but quickly saw that was futile and this manager wasn't competent to grasp the simple concept we proposed. First we said we give authorization and did when we first got there, so what's the difference between signing a card and our verbal Approval? The manager inferred that the membership was basically like a state ID. We broke through that quickly and asserted that it's not, it's just Alamo policy. These magic membership cards wouldn't count anywhere except Alamo movies, so no, it's NOT like a state issued ID. We even said fine, we'd sign up for the ripoff passes. This is where the manager became too much. She said we can't do that and we have to fill out an application and it takes approximately two-weeks to process. Are you kidding me??? Are they doing background checks? Nope. Are the membership cards doing anything special that would be doing anything additional or more than us providing a verbal approval to the manager as the kids parents, or if we wrote down on the tickets our approval and signature or filled out the cards now and signed them? Nope The manager just wanted to be uncooperative and stand by "it's our policy". Alamo, you lost a entire bank of customers for our family and any friend or family we can convince to go to the AMC with IMAX or any of the showing rooms in that facility or the theatre downtown, or going to Ozark who does the same thing as the Alamo due to the rigidity, arrogance and ignorance of one of your female managers that was working Sunday night, October 13, 2019 in the afternoon. Leaving the time frame, date and the gender in hopes of corporate finding this negative survey and maybe making the right call to modify their program for this in the first place and secondly to find out why that manager took Such a personal vendetta to be so uncooperative and difficult for a paying customer. The kicker was when we said forget it, just refund our money and we'll go elsewhere. The manager had the audacity to not refund the entire price and only refunded part of the cost and demanded we pay $2.40 to cover for ticket fees. This would have not have happened if my children weren't with me who just asked if we could leave and no have to be involved with a scene that was embarrassing them. So, sadly, we left having paid almost $2.40 to the Alamo to be kicked in the balls and basically told to F off and in a last ditch effort to offend us, she placated my wife calling her "sweetie", like that would make everything ok. She knew this would add fuel to the fire and clearly showed the Alamo believes they are too good to be servant leaders and show some Humility and professionalism. If my children weren't there, this would have become insanely ugly and I would have demanded for Alamo's general manager, and if that was her, asked for either the owner, or for the next level of management and their name and requested their phone number and called them while I was standing there and continued to escalate doing the same up the corporate office. If she would have refused I would have found the email of the executive board contact information for the CEO Tim League. This message will go to them Separately as well to ensure they understand the profoundly negative impact one of their managers made tonight for their brand so that she could act powerful and play the dictator part. Very disappointing Alamo. I really liked your concept and enjoyed going to your theatre for family entertainment. Sadly, that is gone and don't see that changing unless something is done about the power trip your manager was on that ensures my family won't be embarrassingly mishandled over some arbitrary policy that could have been handled with some class. Not happy about the 18 percent surcharge for ordering food at the Alamo theater instead of online! Restaurants don't charge a surcharge fee when you order in the restaurant so they shouldn't there either. We can go to a regular movie theater and get our food at a concession stand without paying an extra 18%! Some people can't order their food ahead of time and have to buy their tickets at the theater itself. Will not go back to get taken advantage of again! read more

2nd visit! Great experience there again! Easily the best popcorn in Springfield! Okay, far better than expected. The limitlesspopcorn is easily the best popcorn in Springfield along with being easily the best priced, further they use real butter not the imitation junk. The Askinose shake alone is worth a visit ($9). Overall the environment is very clean and the waiters and waitresses who deliver food are fast, efficient and very friendly and the environment is perfect for someone who desires to view a film in quiet without people texting and talking. read more

I used to love coming to the Alamo, but the last 4 times I have been here my food has been forgotten. Tonight I ordered the vegan cauliflower wings and after 45 minutes I put up a ticket asking if the server was able to check on my order. The order never got put in, then he let me know that they were out of wings so i ordered something else. They then came back and said they were out of that as well. I ordered something else again and my food was forgotten for the 2nd time. I truly gave this place more chances than they deserve because it used to be so amazing but I am not coming back. read more

Bought 3 tickets to avengers infinity way with for me and my elderly parents. For some reason the theater was shut down, and they were breaking everyone down into two smaller screens. They basically told me to fuck off when I raised my concerns the front desk about my elderly parents standing around waiting for 20 minutes for new screen with no seating. You can't enter the movie after 15 minutes which sucks because if you're running late good luck, and you can't skip through the credits. You cannot grab your own food from anywhere, it has to be served to you. Understandably, movie theater food is expensive but it's an automatic 18% tip you are required to pay for shitty service that I don't even want. They are constantly in your view and if you need a refill it will take half the movie to get it. If you hit the button, which I did, you have to write everything down because they don't really want you taking even though they talk to you everytime they deliver food. When I hit the button I asked for a refill and the "server" i had straight up ignored me and just put a pen and paper infront of me, to do a full 360 when I wrote "Drink" on it. Terrible. I have a service dog and it is beyond frustrating when my dog is settled for a movie and someone comes in late and runs very close to and sometimes even steps on my dog. A year later we decide to give them another shot. We sat down and a waitress came about 10 minuets later. We ordered waters and began looking at the menu. Another 20 minuets went by and or server came to get our orders "she didn't bring water" She said; sorry someone should bring it. Meanwhile people around us were receiving drinks who had came in much later than us. 50 minuets later I was able to catch her again "yes that long to see her" and tell her about our drink situation; finally water arrives. Almost an hour and forty minutes into the movie our dinner arrives. Cold cashew chicken with about 4 pieces and it was dry and so was my rice, barley any sauce. My wife's grilled cheese was rock hard and tasted like it was fresh from the government line. By this time we were starving and ate it anyway I finished mine, my wife didn't finish hers. We told our waitress about the lousy food which she replied; oh I'm sorry, and walked away.. We didn't talk to management because it was late and by this point we were just done. I messaged the main office, they asked me a ton of questions, and then retorted with; we will notify all staff to do better.... I will NEVER set foot in this place again. They capitalize off convenience! $70 for a movie and food that taste like it was thrown out of a convenience store! The service/ food is awful, and prices ridiculous. For many years, I have gone to the Alamo Drafthouse and enjoy the experience. However, recently I had a problem. I had purchased food and drink during the movie, and my credit card was run twice with two separate charges for the same thing. No big deal, I thought I will call them and get this taken care of. I simply need one of the charges refunded. Right? Wrong! For well over a week now I have done everything they have asked of me. I have called. I have submitted information through the website. I have messaged them. I can get absolutely no response whatsoever. Just vague answers telling me that I need to call the theater, which I do. Or I need to submit it on the website, which I do. All my visits to the Alamo Drafthouse have been decent. Been able to get the time and the movie we wanted, and the food is delivered fresh, hot, and quickly. The seats are comfy, the sound system is great, and the no-talk, no text policy is fabulous. I advise you all, however, to take cash if you are going there to pay for your food. Don't use a card. On October 19th, 2018, my mom, sister and I went to go see the new Halloween. We had a free snack voucher, and with that, everything totaled to $22.00. My sister paid for it with her card, and left a three dollar tip, which made the total $25.81. Suddenly, on our bank statement, the total ended up being almost a tad over $30.00. We called to complain, and the excuse given as to why it was that way was...bizarre, to say the least. "Sometimes the total is more and when it gets rang in and finalizes it goes in as less." What? I've used two vouchers before and the total went through fine and I NEVER had that issue. Something did not add up there for me. So either something didn't get entered right, or the server tried to rookiedoo us on the tip. It ended up getting fixed, but no apologies, no "sorry for the inconvenience," nothing.
