This place was referred to me by friends and they said it was great. That's understatement of the year. The Baja salad could have been the best salad I've had in my life. Drinks were good, a lady at the bar ordered a fancy drink I've never heard of and she said it was really good. Amanda is awesome and has more personality then any bar tender in the country. lol She's super fun and cares a lot about the customers and bar. Lastly my favorite part is that the people and crowd they draw are super cool. It's cool to see a bar where people are all talking if your a regular or a first time like myself they don't care not a clicky place at all. Me and my friends visit this place every opportunity we get, usually on Friday or Sunday, but always try to arrive when Andrew is around, he has the best smile and attitude you'll find at this hole in the wall, not to say that the other staff are anything less than stellar themselves, we had a regular waitress who took care of us and once she left for bigger things we met a new one who is about twice as sweet and three times as warm to talk to so you're never without help when you're here. We have a special spot we sit in every time we're there and we even joke about having Andrew hold the booth for us! We always ordered the same burger when we were there which was The Maverick, unfortunately with the times and business Andrew had to switch up the menu and our regular item was missing but don't you worry, the food there now? It's still just as good! They have pizza, wings, smash burgers, and so much more that I haven't even tried yet, the last time I was there which was yesterday I said hey to Andrew, ordered a philly cheesesteak (which is amazing and he said they even season and chop the meat themselves) and I asked them to put some of their special Baja Sauce on it and boy I had a bit of a sinus situation going in and that cleared it right back out, I'm not saying the food does miracles but I'm not NOT saying it either. If you go, go on a Friday so you can see Andrew, sit in the second booth from the bar on your right, order the smash burger but have them make it like the maverick used to be and throw an egg on it, say hi to Andrew and tell him how good a job he does running the show, give the ladies that work their butts off a smile and a wave, ask for the lemonade cause it's my favorite there too, and enjoy the best part of Springfield you'll find, because nobody does it better than them.. read more

I had a bad experience here. The bar was nearly empty, besides the three customers who were sharing a cake with the waitress. The waitress took a long time to cater our needs and provided us with absolutely no service during our dining experience there. The only time she visited us was to take our order, give us the food, and present us with our check. The rest of the time she was chit-chatting with her friends and spending time on her phone. Not to mention, we got the Supreme Nachos with beef added to it. $12 and it looked absolutely nothing like they were claiming to serve earlier on in the past. The temperature of the nachos was close to room-temperature and the cheese was far from being melty and delicious. It was a disappointing experience but I guess it works if you're hammered and eating shitty food. read more

Beer is cold. I would not call a piece of thin sliced beef folded in half Tri-tip. The kettle chips were either undercooked or cooked in mass volume ahead of orders, soggiest and chewiest I have ever had. Service was okay. Ambiance; Thursday is trivia night, it appears it's every Thursday. If looking for a laid back joint with good food on a Thursday maybe your experience will be better than mine. Went for my friends 21st birthday and the manager was extremely rude and was being very unprofessional towards us. Was acting very passive aggressive and kept telling us we couldn't sing at a karaoke bar. The waiters were nice but over all not a good experience and the atmosphere was not at all a fun time. Burger was pretty good. Onion rings, curly fries, and cheese sticks were soggy. The cheese sticks specifically seemed like a piece of string cheese that was tossed in batter, fried and then sent to Shrek's Swamp before they sent them to me. Soggy. The chips were dope honestly but the salsa tasted like pizza sauce so you're lucky I'm not Mexican or i would be pissed. Went on Labor Day because the other place we went was closed. Prices are cheap, food is just okay. Definitely an old geezer hang out. Waitress was nice enough, but what I can only assume was an off duty employee or a regular came in after we had ordered, and brought in a huge boxer-- not on a leash. It was running around jumping on and licking everyone, and barking and howling whenever someone came in. It was very gross and off putting. I love dogs and have one myself, but I would never go back here because of this alone. A huge health code violation as well. read more

I and two other couples walked to S & D last night for drinks and dinner. Our brassy waitress said we would have to give a credit card in advance or cash in advance to start a tab?? Was the young lady impressed with her 'authority'? Maybe she thought her five, 60 year old customers represented a flight risk, haha! I gave her $100 in advance. Karaoke is a fickle thing. Sometimes it's so good, and sometimes it's soooo bad. Unfortunately, neither of these apply to S&D- it's somewhere in the tepid middle. If you want a low key night, find a back booth and this place would be okay. If you want good karaoke, keep searching Yelp. The drinks are okay and they have decent specials, but the service was slightly below par in my opinion. Nice, but lofty. And I am being generous. This was my go to place for karaoke until my wife got a bad drink that made her sick. We went back last night in hopes of a better experience. I was sorely disappointed. The worst part is that it wasn't even half full. Our server was very good but the drinks were grossly overpriced. The karaoke was better. I sang twice in an hour and a half which is great. Beer selection has some solid choices for everyone but relatively limited. For those looking to mix food and entertainment, karaoke is on from 9pm to 1am on Friday and Saturday. read more
