A couple of months ago, I rented a car while my truck was in the shop. What I got was a complete joke. The car smelled like straight-up weed, no cleaning, no care, just handed off like that's acceptable. It had maybe 20 miles to empty, was missing a rim, and somehow they still had the nerve to charge premium prices for it. Charging top dollar for bottom-tier quality is wild. Then I gave them another chance, big mistake. Rented a car for my daughter, and the tire keeps losing air. Their solution? "Take it to Mavis." Seriously? I'm paying you, not signing up to run errands and fix your rental fleet. That's not just inconvenient, it's lazy customer service. And it gets better, their backup plan was to tell me to call back in a couple of hours to see if anyone had returned a car. So now I'm expected to sit around and hope something becomes available? Unreal. What makes it worse is that there aren't many alternatives in Niagara Falls, so customers are basically stuck dealing with this nonsense. If there were better options, I'd be gone immediately. And unfortunately, the Niagara Falls local store, Dollar General, isn't renting out cars. At this point, it's clear they don't respect their customers' time, money, or basic expectations. Overpriced, poorly maintained vehicles, and zero accountability. I'll be warning everyone I know about this location.

Also, the website did not give me an electric car option for my trip, but when I called the helpful staff at the rental site, it turned-out that many such vehicles were available. Eventually got one, and took it all the way to DC, a one-way hire. It was however 3 years old and no charge cables were supplied; that was not a problem for using public charge points as they all had cables but a cable for charging at a home would have been useful.

At Rent A Wreck, we rented an economy car for 5 days and spent $95.78 after a military discount with no insurance through them because they don't offer it. -The only negative. Such an awesome, affordable deal!!! The cars from Rent A Wreck are no more then 5 years old, so you're most likely not renting a piece of junk! The car was clean and ran smooth!

Hertz used to only operate out of their office on Military Rd, but that was a pain, especially on cold Niagara winter days, since it's not automatic that pick up and drop off, never mind timely. But those days are gone - they now have a counter, which is only operational when there are flts coming in and going out. By way of an example of a price difference, it was 120 for Hertz for 3 days vs. 180 for Alamo on this current trip. Sp right there it's worth a star. Cuz the car itself is no big deal. It has about 18k miles on it, but the road noises are palpable at 65+ clicks. Might ned the wheels balanced or something. But it's clean, as Hertz cars usually are.
