Then he tried to charge me $240 in taxes for a rental that was $70. I could not get the car if I did not sign even though I knew he was scamming me. They gave me a few options and I ended up waiting about 30minutes, which wasn't ideal, but they made up for it by giving me a cool car to drive for a few weeks and going above and beyond in their customer service skills! They even setup a personal wifi hotspot for me to use while I waited for the car. I returned the car today and the experience was seamless. DJ answered the phone and was super cordial and kind and saw that I was looking to leave in a hurry and get back to my day and so moved the process along. The people here really make the experience great, so if you're looking to rent a car and this locaation is conveneint, I recommend it!

I got a text that I could check-out online and skip the line - so, when we arrived we saw a sign that said if you're Hertz rewards to go downstairs (via elevator) to their window - which we did. I was then told that if you use the text it takes you out of their system and I had to go back upstairs. So, we had to take the elevator again and when we got up there, now there were 5 people in line. When I got up to the counter, I was told I should be able to go downstairs and they'd take care of me. I refused and so then they "upgraded" me complementary and I ended up with a HUGE SUV which is not what I wanted to drive around (gas and also parking issues) so I had to go back to the window and ask them to put me in the rental I actually booked. It took over an hour - as mentioned - and it was stressful and not at all the Hertz experience I'm used to. If this location doesn't offer the text check-out then they should notify Hertz to discontinue that for people picking up here. Drop-off was a bit easier and went smoother than expected - I showed up earlier expecting it to not be fast but it was like other airports and it is nice that it's so close to the ticketing area (directly across the street).

We called to dispute it and were told we'd have to go to the rental location to dispute it...which is absolute BS, we are in NC and not able to travel back. It was at 1/4 tank. Like we said, we left the space already before we realized it, but immediately took pictures of the gas tank and odometer, like 5 minutes from the airport. We called Budget to let them know and they said that we needed to file a report with Budget online. Fine. BUT when returned the car to this company, we told the attendant that we had pictures and stuff about the unfilled gas tank... After checking that we returned it with a full gas tank, the attendants told us that they were going to give us a $50 credit for the gas. We said, oh that's nice, do we go to the desk and get that credited back? They told us, oh no, it will just show up on your statement at the end. So we left and did nothing... BIG MISTAKE. Fast forward to getting the statement and not getting ANY MONEY BACK. My father called Budget only to hear that they don't have any record of the attendant offering this and thus cannot give the credit back. We're going to dispute the insurance charges via our credit card, and make sure Budget headquarters knows about our experience. And we WILL be filing a claim via their website about the 1/4 tank. Rent from anyone else but Budget. Rather than make my way back to the counter and wait in a long line again I chose to document the fuel gauge and just return it with a 1/4 tank of gas. Well when I dropped it off in NJ they insisted it should have a full tank of gas and charged me $10.99 a gallon plus a bunch of fees!!! I objected and thought they should work it out between the Avis sites but the owner said they couldn't do that, customer service wouldn't allow them to do that and I had to call and address it. Well, now it has taken me multiple phone calls, emails and submitting documents. Meanwhile they charged me for the rental plus gas at drop off location and the original amount in Buffalo. So what should have cost me $142.47 via Expedia has cost me over $641 ($200 is refundable deposit, so they say)!!! Still trying to resolve the matter! Be wary!

They then turn around and put the damages that was on the car previously on a claim with my insurance and THEN makes it seem like i haven't been reaching out to them when i've been blowing up there phone, texting them AND calling and nothing going through at all, I kept getting told I had to wait for a manager to reach out (WHICH NEVER HAPPENED) and every time I called I got hung up on or transferred to a department I did not need to speak too. The first rental I got before this one smelled HORRIBLE like old smoke like the car wasn't even cleaned out. Will never rent anything from them again! 0/10 recommend.
