I booked a car very last minute for a trip and wanted somewhere convenient. The absolute best rates - for the entire area happened to be at Hertz. The pickup was smooth and very quick and the service was great! I had to leave my actual car there, which, fewer and fewer places allow you to do so. They have a few spaces and over the phone they did disclaim that the area may not be the best so it was at my own risk. I really appreciated the heads up and I had no problem at all. Had a confirmed pickup at the airport. Our flight arrived on time. The kiosk was closed. Took a cab to their offsite location and they were closed. Called Hertz customer service, on hold for 20 minutes then told they must have closed early for the day. Our cab driver said this happens all the time. Next day checked at the airport, they were still closed and TSA staff confirmed this happers all the time. read more

Rented a vehicle from Hertz at the Buffalo Airport. Upon arrival we had to wait car was not ready Next while driving around the Niagara Falls area I noticed the tire alert came on saying low tire pressure so we stopped and put air in the tire after 30 minutes the sensor was still on so I called road side assistance twice both ladies I talk to side I don't have Tire coverage???? And I would have to handle this myself or she could send someone out the change the tire at MY expense? I rented a car for a friend coming into town and explained that the passenger was legally blind and they would need help, well the person on the phone told me to have them go to Niagara Falls Airport to pick the car up and when they got there it was closed and told to go to Military Road,so off they went looking for Hertz and could not find it ,so someone told us where it was ! The sign and name are on the side of the building where you could not see it unless you knew it was there. Findly got the car and the gentleman programmed it for them so they could find where they were going.... on the return trip they were told to return it to the Niagara Falls Airport, so they did so only to find out they were closed and they had to take it to Milltary Road AGAIN !,,, I really don't think they know what they are doing and need a lot of help before I would not recommend them to anyone.... They got the car back 10 minutes late because of all the running around, so if they get charged a late fee I advise them not to pay it.....Rating oooooooooo! read more

If I could rate this company zero stars, I would. I went to pick up my already paid for rental, a small sedan, which I thought I had gotten for an excellent rate. I was told that 7 vehicles were not returned. I was offered a Tesla, which I could not use as I was traveling 10 hours, and a minivan I did not want to pay the gas for on a long trip. I received no apology and was told I would have to wait 7-10 business days to get my money back, for which I had to contact a 1-800 number (they were also quite rude). Fortunately, I was able to find a rental through another company at the last minute. I will NEVER use Hertz again. Apparently with Hertz, you get what you pay for, which is nothing! read more

If you think you'll get the usual great Hertz service, think again. The fact that this is a mile away from the airport is inconvenient enough. When we arrived, we had to take a taxi to go pick up the car because it's after their hours. That wasn't too bad, and I did it with eyes wide-open, knowing I have to incur the extra cost. Little did I think that, upon return, I'd have to call a cab as well. The lone employee there said he can't drop me off (even if he didn't have anything to do all the time I was there. He was totally unhelpful and unconcerned. When I waited and waited, and there's still no cab, I had to beg him to call again. The cab took more than 20 minutes to arrive. Never again. The manager is nasty and never returned my phone call and had an attitude every time I called, I got charged for 3 tanks of gas when I returned it full and I'm still waiting on my refund. This is crazy, this company in general sucks and the fact that they don't do pick ups like Enterprise sucks and they're closed weekends which is absurd. From the beginning to end, poor experience. I had a reservation at 1pm to pick up my rental from the airport, when we got to the counter no one was working (another car company said no one had been there for the first flight either). Once we were picked up, we were taken to another hertz location to complete paperwork. I called the day before we were scheduled to return the car to ask about cost to keep it another day, I was told one price, charged 50$ more. When I contacted the location to discuss the charge, I was given the 1-800 number to call because "they no longer had my information in their system"; after being on hold for 25 min, I was told I was charged a "late fee" for returning my car a day later DESPITE having called and arranged this additional day. If you are contemplating using this location to rent your next vehicle from, I HIGHLY suggest you look elsewhere. Unprofessional from the beginning. read more

Of course we didnt know abt this till we got to the location and had to wait for another taxi to pick us up and drop us off here. Manager is USELESS and CARELESS! I rented a car from the Niagara Falls airport Hertz. Attendants were not available at the time of my drop off. I submitted my keys to a drop box unaware that I left my passports in the rental. I called the office when it opened 2 days later and was told they located the passports and would send them UPS to me. Over a month later and after I made numerous calls, these passports were lost by the Hertz manager who promised to send them to me. No tracking was provided and she never called me back when I called to inquire about the mailing status. The manager is negligent and admitted to carelessly 'dropping them off' in a UPS box. She never followed up with UPS as she told me she would and NEVER called me back when I was told she would. I've called he head office twice to complain and have yet to hear from upper management. read more

I do not recommend renting a car at this location. We booked our reservation weeks in advance, walked in and the customer service was terrible. Not enough people were here so it took a while between phone calls and other stuff to even get the attendant to help us. He then looked our names up and realized the car was not here and ready for us, so he had to drive off just to go get it somewhere ten minutes away. Hertz has been great in the past, I just do not recommend this location at all. We are welcome to wait in the hot office, in two chairs available among all the cobwebs. I was just given a very hard time by the Hertz helpline when I called to ask why I rented a car under our corporate weekly rate, and the invoice states that I was billed for 5 days at a higher rate than weekly. I was told that if you intend to return a weekly rental sooner than 7 day, you need to tell them ahead of time. Absurd. read more

Rented a car through a body shop from them. Returned the car when mine was done being repaired. Approximately 5 weeks later they charged my debit card $300. Said I returned the car 9 days later than I did even though it was already re-rented! My insurance company didn't pay for those days. They found their mistake and said that was 10 days ago and I still don't have my money because apparently someone in Oklahoma has to approve it. Not sure how long your card stays on file but I guess they can go charge it whenever they want. The manager was nice enough and apologetic but I'd steer clear of Hertz. read more

Hertz (specifically Kari) took care of us on our trip to see my family up north in the Niagara, Buffalo, and Rochester area. Our return trip back to Punta Gorda Florida on September 8 was cancelled due to the impending Hurricane IRMA. We got the rental extended with no problem and things worked out including the necessity of having to drop the car off at the Buffalo Airport rather than Niagara Falls Airport. I have never had an issue renting from Hertz until this location. The 2 staff members working seemed like they couldn't be bothered. Lazy as hell. Then I was given a compact car, when I paid for 2 levels higher. The entire reason I rented a car was because some drunken idiot t-boned my pathfinder @ 50 mph. Being in this little go kart made my anxiety horrible. Damage on the back of the car they didn't tell me about, and the dirty qtips someone cleaned their ears with, in the passenger door!! While my car was being repaired I received a rental. I opted to buy a full tank of gas at their discounted price. However, when I returned the car I had not used the full tank and still had 250 miles to go before empty. I explained to the clerk that I had made an error in judgement and had too much gas leftover and asked if I could be refunded in some way. He said "No, that is not our policy." and pointed to a sign on the wall that stated no refunds on the gas. I was getting upset because I did not see the sign when I registered to obtain a vehicle and I was not warned about it either. I said the rental agent should have warned me in advance. He said it is the customer's job to ask questions if they want more info. This made me very upset because their price was almost $45 for a tankful and so I lost money as I only used a quarter tank of gas. I told the guy I would never use them again. read more
