We reserved a full size pickup truck months in advance. We checked in online a day ahead of time and verified that we would have a full size pickup truck. We arrived at the desk to pick up our rental, and they did not have a pickup truck at all. They offered us a jeep wrangler. We argued and insisted on a full size pickup truck. They offered the jeep wrangler again. Eventually they said that all they had was a Nissan frontier. We requested a partial refund and settled for the frontier. Upon reaching the garage, there was not a Nissan frontier. There was a Jeep wrangler and a full size GMC Sierra. They said that we could not have the full size pickup truck (GMC Sierra), and made us wait 20 minutes for a Nissan frontier to arrive. We asked multiple times why we couldn't have the full sized gmc, and the employee kept saying "I don't know what's going on but this is just what happens sometimes." The small truck is missing a chunk of foam in the drivers seat and has raw seat-filler exposed. The bed is chipping, dirty, dented, and oddly melted in some places. The cab is tiny and dirty. Traveling with five people and large items to move between cities was difficult and uncomfortable thanks to enterprise's failure to deliver a timely and appropriate reservation. read more

Spend the extra money and rent from Enterprise at the Buffalo airport. The first time I flew to Buffalo and rented a car, I went through Budget. Terrible idea. Saved a couple of dollars but waited in line for 30 minutes, waited at the desk for another 30 while the agent claimed my credit card crashed their system, and then got a car that needed maintenance and wouldn't connect to my phone. So the next time, I went with Enterprise. It cost a bit more, but was about 1000% better of an experience. There was no line (the Budget line at the end of the room stretched so long you actually couldn't get into the Enterprise area), the agent took about 2 minutes to confirm my reservation, and when I went to pick up the car, another Enterprise employee greeted me, told me he was available if I had questions, and then loaded my suitcase into my car. When I returned the car, an employee came up immediately, scanned the information, and had me checked out before I had even begun unloading--no waiting around for someone to help check you back in while you hope you aren't going to be late for your flight. Hard to find rental car services that aren't a nightmare but Enterprise not only avoided this but went above and beyond. read more

Where do I begin with this dramedy of errors? I begin by reserving with Hertz at the Buffalo airport in the 1st place. I waited in line for an hour wondering why the area was packed with people. I found out that they were waiting up to 90 min to get a car after the wait to check in! There were 2 reps at the counter and then one. I guess he left on a break. There was no one to cover the desk while he was gone. My weekend in Buffalo and Niagara Falls has been shortened by several hours. By the way, the reps were covering both the dollar and hertz counter. There were at least 2 people in an office behind the desk. One was the manager doling out the keys. All I can say is this is one of the worst experiences ever with Hertz who has really descended the service ladder. It will be a while before I rent from Hertz again. read more

I had a car reserved through an ins company. When I arrived I was giving multiple excuses as to why there was no car available. The final excuse was he tried to call me to set it up. When I assured him I did not receive a call nor a voicemail. He said he sees no reason to leave a voicemail, further explaining he assumes if you see a missed call you just return it! Clearly this was an attempt to snub me as it turns out there was a high demand in the area for rentals and insurance rentals probably don't pay as well as someone off the street. I received a should shrug and a poor attempt to shift blame. I have been an avid renter, however first and last time using this location for any purpose. Beware, if you make a reservation online your plans could be foiled by poor business practices/ customer service. read more

I rent between 12-24 cars per year.. and rent another 15 trucks from uhaul during the summer to tow my boat to the ramp (1 mile - so great deal) Almost all car rental places had challenges during the COVID era.. Car sanitizing, reduced inventory from labor challenges.. renting a car from any company including Enterprise was terrible.. Now we are past that COVID era (in MHO), rental car demand is high and I want to see more people working behind the counter and I want to see everyone who is working, including the managers helping customers first before chatting about daily living with each other, or on cell phones. Of all the rental companies - Enterprise has done the best job of this.. I also want to see the over-sell / no cars left problem gone. I understand how over-sell is needed because of all the flakes and double bookers that cause problems. I think this is solved easily by advanced unrefundable deposits or payments and making sure those customers cars are not rented to someone else. Easy ! Those that dont pay until they get the car - too bad.. Its the double bookers and flakes causing this over-sell behavior - not the rental companies.. But Some companies have higher over-sell rates than others.. there should be constant monitoring - even at the customer level to know what the proper over-sell rates should be.. and when the over-sell situation happens, Enterprise is one of the best companies to give you another car - usually better upgrade - to make it right.. if you ask nicely - you may get it for free.. if you yell at them and tell them they owe you your car.. you may have to pay for the upgrade.. Human behavior is pretty consistent this way across all industries.. I ended up in a Audi last time I was in Buffalo on a over-sell / inventory situation.. There is also some adjustments I would like to see in the inventory when it gets late at night.. there are bad policies at this time that hurt the late arrivals.. The toll situation in some states is terrible. Rental cars are taking too much off the top for service charges.. worse that ticketmaster these days.. what would be good for the niargara tourists is to give them the free route.. if they have GPS - help them turn off tolls.. its only a 10 min ? difference in travel time ? I wish the states would allow a lane to two to pay at the toll and not make the license plate the billing point.. The states could also regulate rental companies on service charges.. Lots of people to blame here.. but every Buffalo employee should be trained on nontoll routes, paper maps with routes marked and GPS toll settings for apple and android.. (dont need to know blackberry).. My experience was good.. The lady was kind, I was kind.. and we had good communication with each other.. I got the Audi for free and I am sure being nice had something to do with that - but also powered employees and good policies helps too. Some rental car places handcuff their employees to make any decisions on their own.. Good companies understand good training and empowerment is the best way to helping the customers.. Enterprise has the best reputation for this.. I also like the meeting of me at the door and walking to the car.. it helps a lot.. not extra walking trying to find some number-letter combination (some parking lots are terrible for ordering) anyways.. recommend Enterprise unless the price just screams louder than the competitors customer service.. read more

After reaching out to Enterprise corporate, i am happy to say that they reimbursed me for the additional costs! Their response time was super quick and treatment fair. I realize that they did not have to hold themselves accountable and it is good to deal with a company that has integrity and is willing to right a wrong situation. I wish their location managers had the same standards. I've already booked another rental because i feel confident that although things may not go according to plan, they work to resolve any issues their customers are having. I've had multiple bad experiences with this location. The first time they closed early (my flight was delayed by 10 min) and I couldn't get my rental car. Had to spend the night locally and pick up the care the next morning. The last time I rented they mixed up the return date and overcharged me by $100. The two guys we had on November 6, 2017 around 5PM were extremely accommodating. They were all friendly and interacted well with my autistic family member to make him feel included and a part of our adventure. They were all professional, yet still warms and welcoming. When we got the car, they pulled it up for us so we wouldn't have to search. Every employee we encountered was very friendly, we chose the pre-pay fuel option. They explained and showed us where and how to return the car before opening. I am giving it 4-stars for two reasons: 1. we tried contacting the location by phone several times throughout the day to ask a question, all of our calls were forwarded to a voice mail box and the two messages we left were never returned. 2. We didn't seem to be offered any perks for being a rewards club member. We have a medium status (I don't expect to be treated like royalty) but we were hoping for an upgrade or something similar.. even a bottle of water for members would have been good enough for me. We were really happy with our service here and the selection of vehicles. When we arrived the desk check in when really smooth. We were offered a hybrid car which we took which we really saved on gas so that was great! Service was fast and they didn't pressure you to buy the insurance etc. The prices are on par with some of the other big chains. I really like that they are located right inside the airport. Nice not to have to get on a bus and lug all that luggage around. Drop off was easy as well. read more

I have been waiting in this rental car building for 3 hours now. I made a reservation online and they're telling me sorry there are no cars available. I've now spoken on the phone with someone three times, all assuring me that absolutely there are cars available. But when I get to the counter they tell me sorry there are no cars available. I am 3 months pregnant and now stranded at the airport with no way to get around or get to my hotel since I didn't plan for any of this to happen. Enterprise does not care about the well-being of its consumers and is only out to make a buck. Their customer service are obviously not connected to their in person counters in any way because online it shows there are cars but in person nope, outta luck. You people have ruined my entire trip and there's no way for me to get money back for the hotels I've booked across the state that I can no longer get to. read more

Rented a car from them for 5 days. The check-in process was quick and friendly. The first car we were given the trunk wouldn't close, no big deal. They gave us an upgraded car and we were off. Returning the car was amazingly fast and easy. They're the first kiosk as you drive into the car return. An employee checked everything and we were out of there in 5 minutes. The great thing about this airport is you don't take a shuttle to the rental cars, it's just across the entrance of the airport. Easy and quick! We had checked in online and had no baggage to check; we returned our car and were at our gate in less than 15 minutes. Great job Enterprise! read more

Got screwed over by the downtown buffalo enterprise and came to airport where they said they could get us a car ie "do us a favor" but it was going to cost twice as much. I explained we had to pay $20 for an Uber and are now 2 hours late and they referred us to other companies. We booked through American Express and are supposed to be preferred customers. We will never rent from enterprise again and we recommend no one else does either. read more

But, now my opinion has changed. The guy at the counter was condescending and rude. He lied about not having a Full-size SUV and also quoted an extremely high price for the Standard SUV. I rent because they offer, usually, the lower rates. Lately, I have noticed a lack of nice cars and being stuck with POS Kias, Hyundais, and low level Nissans. I prefer Toyotas....and apparently so does everyone else because they are always gone when I get there. The people are nice but even if you have a complaint, they never do anything. They have a giant advertising campaign that says they can make it right...only they never make it right. They only take you money as you walk to check in for your plane. This location is good. I have seen better (Minneapolis) and I have seen the worst (Dallas Love Field) so you kind of get the luck of the draw. read more

Enterprise isn't all bad but they can be annoying. The way they rent out cars is very time consuming. They move slowly, offer up dozens of options that you seldom are interested in and they have to walk with you to the car to give it the once over. Last Monday, it took an hour and 15 minutes from the time I approached the counter to the time I drove the car off the lot. I've applied for mortgages that have taken less time. Man, I'm only renting the car, not buying it. read more

Enjoyed driving a Dodge Journey SUV. Just wish the crew that went through the vehicle after we returned it had found my son's Gameboy before the Journey was driven by the next renter. UPDATE: I just wrote a disappointing review about my husbands experience at the Enterprise Rent A Car at the Buffalo (NY) International Airport. When he got to the hospital (finally) he was reviewing over the rental receipt and discovered the rental clerk didn't just add the remaining amount owed... he added an extra $100 onto the bill. My husband is still with his dying father, right now, which is more important to us, but when the time comes to deal with this we plan to give it our full attention.
