I recently saw P!nk at this venue. It was my first visit, and for the most part, it was uneventful and enjoyable. I stayed on the Riverwalk, so the location was convenient. I took an Uber to the venue because of the heat, but all the locals I encountered said it would be a short, easy walk. In 100+ temperatures?? Nah... the ride was worth the $7 fee! Anyway, we got there shortly after the venue opened on purpose since we'd never been there before. I'm really glad we did because finding our seats on the main floor was a nightmare!! We were able to visit the restroom, get a snack, and buy merchandise with ease since the venue wasn't very crowded initially. The bathrooms weren't very clean even though the venue had just recently opened. The lady working the register at the concession stand didn't know how to work it and had to find an employee in another section to help her. That was odd... a new or inexperienced employee should always be flanked by a veteran employee who can assist with ease. But we got through it, and all was well. That is until it came time to find our seats. Our seats were on the main floor in Section H, Row 8, Seats 11-12. The entrance is ABOVE the main floor. As first-time visitors, we didn't know this. Several employees told us (and other fans) to take the elevator down to the main floor. We got to the elevator, but there was an employee inside who wouldn't let us enter. After a brief confrontation with him, he finally explained that we had to find the staircase. He directed us to it, but we couldn't find it and had to ask several other employees. Each one seemed to point us in a different direction. There were NO signs providing directions or assistance. It took us over 20 minutes to find the staircase. It was exhausting and highly annoying. Once we found it, there was a very nice Latino employee who told us how to find our seats once we got downstairs. He also gave us directions back to our hotel. He told us to just follow the crowd, which is what he did. Once we found our seats and the night went on without a hitch. Our seats were great and everyone seated around us was very friendly. P!nk was awesome, and we had a blast. The sound was great, and everyone seemed to stay in their seats. There weren't people sneaking up front or blocking the views of other fans. It was a bit hectic leaving since the show was sold out, but it didn't take us long to find the hotel. I'd actually consider seeing another concert at the Alamodome because everything seemed to run so efficiently. They should maybe consider adding more signage and train their employees better, but other than that, the experience was a good one. read more

The Alamodome is a pretty good sports venue. We were there on Friday, Nov 15 for the Boerne Greyhounds versus the Hidalgo Pirates playoff game. The game was great as Boerne won big. It appears the Dome does not like to provide heat when the crowd will not be a capacity crowd. It was very cold and most people kept their jackets on, us included. Being cold somewhat diminished the experience. Also, do food and drink prices have to be so exorbitant? We paid $24 for two hotdogs and two sodas. We'd have paid $15 for a burger and fries from Johnny Rockets, but weren't quite that stupid. The hotdogs were stupid enough. Our advice - eat before you attend an event in the Dome. read more

Been to the facility many times, I love it! They have 4 huge screens and most of the seats are good. The only thing I wish they would do is bring back fountain drinks. UTSA football plays there, San Antonio Brahmas will be playing there in 2023. Sometimes parking is difficult. Get there early!! read more

I was not impressed when I attended a football game. Bridge to the dome, not ideal to watch a game.

Definitely not a great place for concerts. The seats are super uncomfortable. The woman next to me was basically on me and our arms were touching the whole time. Additionally, they offer no accommodations for the disabled. My husband has back issues and they told him he could only get dropped off/picked up in lot d which is far from the entrance. It was very difficult to get a ride with all of the road closures. read more

A lot of old memories and vibes came back. Watching the old team, A.Johnson, David "The Admiral" Robinson, S. Elliott. Took me back to being a kid again. The dome looked and felt the same. Like we never left. Of course they use to only use half of the Dome for the games but for the 50th Anniversary they opened up the whole stadium. WORST venue for a concert that I have been to in 40 years. Traffic was gridlocked. Venue parking sold out. Drove around for an hour looking for an alternative. Houses in sketchy neighborhoods offering to park your car on their lawn for $40. Did not feel safe doing that. Missed the concert. So upset. Advice to the idiots that run the Alamodome: If you're going to host a concert, make sure you can accommodate the people that paid to go the event! Advice to artists: Do not play the Alamodome, EVER! Very poorly planned venue. No proper entry/exit or signs of where everything is. People have no clue where they are going. Went to a concert and too much echo from the music and singing. The acoustic needs to be updated. The parking lots are a nightmare. No coordination or control by the venue after you pay and people are left on their own. Avoid this venue at any cost. read more

While this is an older venue it is still a great place to watch Football. It's home of the UTSA Roadrunners and the facility is in decent shape. Lots of varied food options and the prices aren't too extremely high but in line with what you would expect at a Sports Venue. The biggest problem is the walk from the Parking lot on the East side to the entrance. It's definitely a hike and you have to go down some stairs and back up a ramp to get around the railroad tracks. read more

Big disappointment! We went for WWE ROYAL RUMBLE 2023 and This facility I can see why the San Antonio Spurs left it! If you love to walk this is your place. So many stairs very little ways for people who can't walk to go to get to their seats. Staff always was ok. The location of my seat a ok, if you had floor seats it looked like they could have been ooook. But the seats themselves were like sitting in old baseball stadium seat, rough on the butt and tight together like your in an airplane! I been to 100s of events in my life time but this place is awful!!! Very disappointed in this stadium! Prob good for fans of 20,000 or less but this is a POS! A LOT of improvements have been made in the last two years. Over the last two years, The Big Bib (a local BBQ joint), Los Barrios (a local Mexican food staple for years), and two SA based craft brewers (Freetail Brewing and Alamo Beer Company) have taken a strong foothold in our beloved dome. There is even a Sam Adams beer stand inside. Other food choices include Pizza Hut, several Chick-fil-A, and of course the usual hot pretzels, hot dogs, burgers, nachos, etc. and mainstream beers are still available. The first level concourse has been widened in the last year and it has some sort of floor covering instead of the previous polished concrete we have had for years - it looks great! Jumbo-trons and sound systems have been dramatically improved since my last review in 2011. Via Park and Ride bus service is available from several locations around town and gets you there quick. If you choose to use Uber, Lyft, etc., there is a special pickup and drop off spot across the highway in a parking lot near the Tower of the Americas. There is a pedestrian bridge that takes you there and it is not a far walk at all. I think they also have pedi-cabs that will take you back and forth if you choose. Another new improvement I noticed this year is they have moved the security check away from the doors where they take your tickets. This really seems to speed things up. Parking is limited, so I recommend taking a Via Park and Ride or an Uber/Lyft. read more

The Alamodome hosts events from football games to Disney on Ice. The stadium can hold a ton of people has been kept in good condition considering the age and amount of events held here. My favorite events held here are the UTSA Football games and #alamobowl (Shining Star Youth Football Camp). I appreciate that the Alamodome conducts purse and body searches to keep visitors safe. The workers are friendly and professional. The Alamodome is not very decorative and could use a splash of color, but it does its job to hold large events. read more

Absolutely atrocious. No AC in the concourse for an INDOOR stadium in TEXAS. One person manning the stand for alcohol in upper deck. This is a near sold out show of 50k plus. I've been to over 300 concerts and this is by far the worst for experience. read more

This has been the worst venue to watch a concert thus far. This venue obviously was not prepared for accessibility accommodations of their ADA customers. Folks with ADA were turned away or discourage from attending a Def Leppard concert on 08-15-2024 at 6:00pm. All that the staff could tell or communicate to the customers with ADA is that they would have to park somewhere else and that they were on their own. Meanwhile, folks could see that there were plenty of parking spaces available behind the block entrances. But, the staff including San Antonio Police would suggest to look somewhere else. Never again would I be coming back to a venue that is owned by the city. And that it treats the ADA population like that. They should be ashamed of themselves. read more

This is my first time coming to the Alamodome and let me tell you I was very disappointed in the whole check-in process. We got to the Alamodome 1.5 hours before the show actually started and the parking was completely sold out. But, there was still visible parking available. We went up to see if we could park on the other side that still had open spots but they would not let us in. The neighborhoods nearby were selling parking spots for about $20-$25 but only took cash. We ended up having to park about 0.6 miles away and walking to the venue. All of this maneuvering in trying to find parking and being stuck in traffic made us a little late. Finally we got to the venue, they barely searched my bag which was concerning since it was an almost sold out show. We had seat tickets on the third floor and our ticket said to go to entry 11. Once we got there we were surprised that there were very little people there and no person to scan us in. We went into the venue without our tickets getting scanned in. The line situation for drinks and food was so messy and everything was very crowded. I think next time, I would ask someone to drop us off nearby and avoid the parking situation. The only reason I am giving it three stars is because I really loved the show and the music was very loud. The seats were comfortable and the venue was cold which was good since there were a lot of people. read more

Sooo the Alamodome is beautiful and absolutely crazy expensive! It's absolutely a great event center! The inside is always clean and the seats are having always looked new. There are various over priced concessions stands around the facility and as well as very well kept restrooms. Many events are held here such as Monster Jam and almost all local high schools. I received my diploma at the Alamodome as well. Have $20- $25 cash ready for parking. Its expensive so try car pulling! read more

I am not sure if Alamodome was built this way intentionally. I was here attending Texas Democratic Convention in June. The center field was open for meetings and exhibits. It was nice to see the 16 meeting rooms (on the ground level behind seating) were being utilized. I really wish there was a better way to get from plaza level to the field. To get from floor to floor, I could use the one-and-only escalator on north end from plaza level to field level; one elevator on each sides of the stadium; and, one stairway on each corner. Bathrooms were very easy to find, they were everywhere. Plus, there are plenty of spaces in front of water fountains. Parking lot and stadium are divided by a railroad track. So, you mean coming from my car to watch a game, I have to go down to a passage below the tracks and up on to more steps? Not to mention there was a bit of distance from where I parked. I prefer flat surface but walking up and down the stairs was killing my knees. So, I decided to walk on a wheelchair ramp during my lunch break. The ramp was hidden away and surrounded with cement walls. I felt like walking through a foxhole trench. Then, there was a scary part. I saw an elderly couple walking up the ramp from ground level as I was climbing on the stairs. Once I walked to the plaza level, I saw a golf cart loaded with 4 passengers. The driver was going down the ramp. The cart fitted on the ramp perfectly. Oh no. What about those people walking up? I was too exhausted to go down there to warn them. I had to get out of the heat. I can't review on food vendors because this was not a public event. But I really wish they were open. Just by looking at the variety of food choices they offer, I was drooling. So next time when I come back, I want to come in a Uber or Lyft while park somewhere else. read more

I dated a guy named Alamo. I was always sending him texts asking him to come over and have his way with me, but my space-button was broken on my phone (this was before predictive text happened), so the texts would say "Alamodome." He thought I meant that he should build a stadium, so we never had sex, and then he moved to San Antonio and built this place instead. Ah well. He wasn't that big anyway. He was 6 ft 7 though. Go figure. First-Hand Experience: Info on my personal visit to this stadium - I wish I could give this place a 5 because every time I've been in here has been as fun as hell. It's just that the facility is sort of falling apart, and the field needs work too. The noise level is great and San Antonio is an underrated and awesome sports town. But the seat I was on, for example, was wobbly and creaky, and I think the town has pumped most of its money into the basketball or something. I've been to every cool stadium in the UK & North America, due to my obsession with travel & sport. I've toured America as a musician for 7 or 8 years. In that time, I've seen sports games at, or visited when empty (and usually both), at almost every major stadium in US and Canada. I have pictures of most which I will upload at some point. Also, on future travels, I plan to take new pix, and add more stadia! Watch this space! ***back to regular review*** This stadium can hold up to 72k, but San Antonio doesn't have an NFL team unfortunately, otherwise they'd play here. They did in Madden 0'whatever, because my friend Justin created them and used to beat my LA Timberwolves for fun regularly with them. San Antonio Snakes, played in bright green. Don't remind me. It was built in 1990 and is really nice. The only thing it needs is a proper NFL team and maybe an MLS team, and to improve the surface, especially for soccer. read more

The Alamodome is HUGE. The bathrooms are plentiful and the concession stands are numerous. The staff took great initiative to help us when we asked for it. They were super friendly and were eager to point you in the right direction. FYI, the best food options seem to be on the 1st floor. read more

This venue is great I would assume for football and big events. Due to COVID they opened the 3rd floor to a boxing match which to be honest was really far. I got seats where my view was limited due to the some post or TV equipment. I walked down to the box office and spoke to Amanda who was very understanding and accomodated my group and I. We attended Monster Jam (which was a great show) but missed a lot of it due to getting up and down nonstop to let others go get food and beer or use the restrooms or go out to smoke. People's behavior isn't the fault of the venue, but having to actually move into the narrow aisles to let them in and out could be minimized by having more room between rows. Also, the seats themselves are very narrow ... we didn't have an issue, but we saw many people who didn't quite fit and spilled over into the adjacent seat. Will definitely avoid this venue! read more

Busy place 50 plus teams competing. Staff friendly and helpful. Concession stands overrated. 10.00 dollars for a pretzel and a bottle of water. I've always wanted to visit the Alamo dome. I will tell you I'm not disappointed. The organizers of this great event did an awesome job. The teams are flowing from court to court in a timely fashion. Games are starting on time as scheduled. We came here to witness that once-a-year phenomenon called the US Army All-American Bowl Football game for 2012, but not for what you might suspect. Starting 5 years ago, the Football teams (East vs. West) were joined by yet another (and in my opinion vastly superior) team known as a Marching Band. In addition to the 75 best high school football players from across the US, the US Army All-American Marching Band swells ranks to 125 (well in 2012 it was a bit deflated at 124) of the most talented Marching Band High School Students ever to grace the football fields of the country at half-time. Proud papa here was bursting at the seams with pride that his son was nominated, auditioned and was accepted to this elite group of musicians as one of the Mellophonists. They did not disappoint, which was a bit more than what could be said of the East Football team (and yes, since we live east of the Mississippi River, our team was the East team) who suffered a humiliating (but how can being amongst the 75 best football players in the country even be considered anything close to that????) loss of 24-6. The venue is phenomenal, If you are in the area, this is one annual event that you do not want to miss!!! read more

Came here to see Rammstein live. The sound quality was very good, and the show itself was everything I hoped it would be. The management and staffing of the venue itself and the concourse seemed as though it could be better however. They only sell water in smallish to medium sized cups, and for such a tightly packed arena, especially being on the floor standing with general admission at a rock concert with an enormous amount of pyrotechnics, we got dehydrated very quickly. It seemed to me as though they really ought to have some kind of water stations on the floor, or roaming vendors. Besides that, while waiting outside for the doors to open there seemed to be a lot of confusion about how the lines were organized for the different gates. It took them a very long time to get people in. read more
