Busy office, my son got his orthotics years ago at a different location. My grandson got orthotics at this location a few years ago. Dr Discont is a very good. My problem is that they claimed that I hadn't paid for my sons orthotics. I gave them a check and it Cleared the bank. They argued that there was no record of my paying and wanted me to take care of it. I provided them with proof...No apologies nothing. Fast forward to a couple of years ago. I had a copay and paid with a debit, got a receipt. Got a bill in the mail for payment. Again had to prove that I had already paid. Frustrating. Will be finding another foot doctor. read more

I actually have added this office to Yelp, and the review below is repeated for the office entry. I don't know how long it will take Yelp to display the Dobson office. Hopefully not long. I think it important to have the office since there are TWO doctors there, and Dr Discont is one of them. Anyway, my review of the office is repeated below: My wife has had foot problems for a few years now. Initially it was a neuroma which was diagnosed by Dr Discont. The orthotics he had made fixed her problem. However, recently, she began having severe pain. X-rays revealed she had bone spurs which led to plantar's fasciitis. For this she saw Dr Krahn. Initially I was concerned that Dr Discont was not available (he was booked out several weeks). But Dr Krahn has proven to be a knowledgeable, patient, and thorough physician. He methodically applies treatments, and if results are not satisfactory, he moves to an elevated treatment. Surgery is his last resort, and so far my wife has managed to avoid it. She is still battling her problem, but progress is being made. Dr Krahn is pleased with it, and thinks we will be able to avoid surgery. And now our daughter, the soccer player, is seeing Dr Krahn for foot pain and ankle spraining. It's too early to tell, but the x-rays showed her feet were fine. She is getting therapy to strengthen her ankles, and we are hopeful that the foot pain was just because her cleats were a bit too small (even though she thought they fit fine). I definitely can recommend this office. And while both doctors are good, I'm really liking Dr Krahn. read more

Before I wax poetic and go on and on about the great Dr. Discont i must address the review by Michael. Not sure what that big question was but you missed out on a truly great doctor and person when you did not meet Dr. Discont. Ok Ok - enough of that. I was referred to Dr. Discont by my primary care doctor because she got tired of me going on about my toe. I played Polo, did some rodeo and had horses and had a great active life. When you live like that you also accumulate various injuries. One of mine was damage to my right toe when Rose, polo horse, stepped on it and then turned. That separated three smaller toes and messed up the big one. From the moment I walked up to the reception desk I was amazed at this office. They are a really busy practice and those women are moving all the time but I was never ignored. When I got back to see the doctor another assistant saw me first and he took some initial information and some x rays. Then on to the exam room. Dr. Discont came in with an assistant who had a computer. He was not distracted and he was not rushed because she was taking all the notes. He asked a lot of questions and examined my foot. He looked a the x rays and asked me how I had walked in because there was no joint in my right toe. He then outlined several options one of which was cortisone shots which I declined. With my lifestyle I have had a lot of those shots over the years and they work and will get you to the next show but they don't usually fix the problem. I opted for a joint replacement. Scheduling was well managed and the surgery went well. I anticipated bad pain and no walking at all but neither was true. I never used my crutches or my crutchless leg support. I did not have any pain at all for at least 3 weeks and then it was minimal. He explained the nerves wake up and strange unrelated pains occur. He was right. Sometimes it burns a little, other times I got short bursts of tingling or other pain but never bad enough to even consider an aspirin. I was released today to full activity and I cannot tell you how much I recommend Dr. Discont and his office. read more

I am a diabetic type 2 so I need to be sure my feet are as healthy as possible. I was having issues and decided it was time to find a specialist. I've been to quite a few foot doctors over the years for bunions, calluses, etc. Dr Discont is by far the best I've seen. His professional exam was outstanding. His personality is delightful. I have to admit, I am frustrated -- so understand that this review is a result of frustration and disappointment. First, I have never had anything but great things to say about Dr. Discont - knowledgeable, friendly, caring, and fast. However, this morning, I arrived at 9:05 for my 9:15am appt. I watched as patient after patient was seen before me. At 9:45, I asked if something had happened to delay things -- and was told a patient would be leaving the room shortly and I was next. However, just prior to approaching the desk, the woman in front of me said "I have a 9:45 with Dr. Discont." -- as I waited, I watched as 3 more patients were called, including the 9:45 with Dr. Discont. I was clearly forgotten about - which I actually understand can happen. When I approached the desk again, the woman at the counter told me there were other providers and they could not control the amount of time each individual patient would take. She was clearly frustrated with me and all I wanted to say to her was "his 9:45 just went in -- and I was 30 mins prior." But it was pointless -- she was the front desk person; her control was limited. I asked for another appointment for another time. Honestly, I am very patient - but I do not appreciate made up stories to accommodate the discomfort of the team forgetting me. Dr. Discont's medical staff took his 9:30 and his 9:45 - and overlooked his 9:15am appt. If instead of launching into some false story about patient delays someone could have checked again and acknowledged the mistake was theirs, I would not have left feeling as if I was the one at fault. read more

Nothing at all against Dr. Discont. He's very professional and excellent in identifying the problem. But some of the staff up front gave me a completely false answer to my very explicit question. Instead of listening to the question, comprehending the question and then research the answer....the answer was a very quick "Yes". Not from just one staff member but three separate people who were asked the same explicit question. When I tried 3 times in one day (the same day as my visit) to get someone to return my call and listen to my complaint .... Nothing. Very unprofessional and quite frankly rude. Decided to go to another Doctor after calling a 4th time to tell them I never received a call back and to cancel my future appointment. Dr. Discont, you would be wise to train your staff to listen to comprehend the question, not listen to quickly reply yes. read more

Love Dr Discont! He's funny, informative, and all around has great bedside manner! Takes his time to explain and answer your questions. You don't feel rushed when he's with you! His focus is on you. I saw him for 6 months and husband saw him today! Busy office but so worth getting to see the expert. How many docs can keep you laughing while injecting both feet with meds? Not many as that freaking hurts! Highly recommend! read more

I SWEAR, Dr. Alan Discont is the BEST foot doctor! I dealt with pain for over a year in both feet (plantars fasciitis and heel spurs)! One foot I had to have surgery on but the other healed from his treatement. He really knows his stuff and is passionate about it. Great bedside manners. He is the most patient, caring doctor and never leaves the room until you understand what he says. He remembers conversations we had from way past and genuinely knows his patients. I have recommended him to friends with different problems (gout, nerve damage, etc.) and all of them thank me and are also happy! read more

Dr. Discont is a TOP doctor for years and continues to be a pro. He recently did my foot surgery for plantar fasciitis and I'm feeling incredible!!
