Dr Hanson is surely amazing. My original foot doctor sent me to him due to me needing a full reconstructive foot surgery. I was able to come in within the week for my very first appointment. They very very friendly, efficient and helpful. Dr Hanson is very Professional, friendly and straight forward with everything. You don't feel like you are stranded with questions or being terrified of how he explains surgical procedures. Very pleasant to work with. I received a bill from 2 years ago showing I owe $90.00 . They told me that this was taken care of due to miscommunication back in 2024. However, they changed billing companies and I received a bill in 2026z When I called them to let them know, the response from the front desk guy was " our previous billing company did not do a good job, and I don't see any notes." They didn't try to resolve this and the front desk person was very rude and acted like I was lying. I'm not a fan of medical practices who blame the patient for billing issues, especially since it has been 2 years since I've even received a bill and thought this was taken care of. read more

Dr. Sabic is a fantastic physician, and I will be working with him indefinitely. I had excruciating, burning, daily pain in my right ankle that put me under more stress than I had ever experienced. One of my legs is slightly longer than the other due to a childhood accident, and but I had no idea my ankle was being slowly destroyed. I had previously visited one of the major valley podiatrists with multiple locations, as well as the Good Feet Store out of desperation. Nothing was working, and I was really starting to panic. Every night was filled with pain, ice, frustration, and painkillers. My primary doctor recommended Cactus Foot and Ankle, and Dr. Sabic immediately started providing treatments, suggestions, and solutions. We worked with custom orthotics, ankle braces, splints, injections, x-rays, and an MRI. I was very impressed with his thoroughness, attention to detail, and most of all, PERSERVERENCE. I had dealt with this pain for almost a year, but within 6 months of treatment, I was pain free again. He didn't give up until this was fixed, and he provided verbal encouragement every time I saw him. I've had a lot of experience with medical professionals, treatments, and attitudes, and I wish Dr. Sabic could be the only doctor I needed to see. He is a consummate professional who truly cares about his patients, and that isn't near as common as it should be. I'm writing this because he made a profoundly positive difference in my life, and he helped me through one of the most difficult situations I've ever faced. I am forever grateful, and I'm already referring him to all my friends and family. If you have foot or ankle pain, he understands the mental stress that comes with it, and he will find the solution. Dr Hansen is a phenomenal doctor. I have been suffering with ingrown toenails for many years. Several months ago I had them fixed by another podiatrist but they both were still excruciating and I couldn't hardly handle it anymore. I went and saw Dr. Hanson for a second opinion and he explained to me that the previous podiatrist just "trimmed" the ingrowns and did not get them out. He got all four of them on the same day and even though the healing process was hard over the next month, I was at ease knowing an end was in sight. I just had my first pedicure since they're all healed up now. It's been a nearly a year and I am beyond grateful because he did such a great job that my toenails are not miss shaped at all.No more pain when I'm working my 12 hour shifts in the ER! Dr Hansen was very professional and did a good job taking care of my toenails. I had been ill and hospitalized and in rehab for several months and my tonsils looked like horses hooves. Dr Hansen is not in my insurance network and when making an appointment the receptionist told me that it would be $165.00. Being 78 and on a fixed income I declined an appointment and looked for another podiatrist. Two days later one of Dr Hansen's staff called and told me that since I would be "self pay" the cost would be $65.00. Gratefully, I made an appointment. There was NO MENTION OF ADDITIONAL CHARGES. Yesterday I had my appointment and when checking out was told the bill would be $230 plus change for the office visit and $65.00 for the toenails. I was shocked at the thought of that much money to cut my toenails. The billing person came to talk to me and said they would give me a discount. The bill ended up to be TWO HUNDRED AND FOURTY- FIVE DOLLARS!!! The billing person said they would review the transaction and call me later In the day to tell me me if they could further reduce the bill. As you guessed no one called. While I received good care during my initial appt from Dr. Hansen, my follow-up appt from my procedure couldn't be made for two weeks due to his vacation. I was fine with that, and accepted the appt. I had to come shortly after my procedure, due to a slight healing issue, no fault of the doctor. When I got my bill, I was charged for the follow-up appt (and the appt I came in for- which that appt I was fine with). When I called to follow -up with billing, their response was, "Dr. Hansen has every right to bill because it was more than two weeks from your first appt. When I explained the appt was scheduled out due to his vacation, she said what Dr. Hansen says sticks, but she would ask him and get back to me. I explained that never in my life after a surgery or procedure has a doctor ever charged for the follow-up appt to see how you are doing following the procedure and to bill my insurance for a first time appt. feels unethical. They reduced the bill slightly, but did not eliminate it and resubmitted to my insurance. I will not be returning to this office for poor billing and business practices. To charge for 3 appts and for how the billing dept. responded to my inquiry, I cannot recommend this practice. Additionally, they did not call me back, they just sent another bill. One star due to a lack of billing communication, poor treatment, and taking advantage of a young healthy student. Initial treatment seemed fine, normal, not special, forgettable. My foot was bothering me from running, doc said rest, have a shot of whatever I'm prescribing, and wear this brace at night. Followed those orders to see minimal improvement, doc said to come back in. After traveling to get there and waiting to see this guy, he says to keep resting and check back in, 4 hours of my time for him to take 2 minutes to state the obvious and charge me for the visit. A month later I get a $350 bill. Nothing other than the 2 visit deductibles, $35, was ever discussed. The majority of the bill was $200 for the cheap plastic brace, available on amazon for about $20. IF YOU GO HERE MAKE SURE YOU TAKE NOTES AND CLARIFY PRICE BEFORE YOU GET "TREATMENT" FROM THIS GUY. My foot continues to hurt, I'm out $350. read more

My daughter stepped on a sea urchin in Puerto Rico and had the needles in her foot. One doctor wanted to put her to sleep to get them out and do a whole surgery. We came here to get a second opinion. Thank God we did. The doctor was awesome and had the needles out in less than a couple minutes. He didn't need to put her to sleep and it was a very easy process. After a living with pain in my left foot that kept me from taking daily walks for several weeks, I made an appointment with Dr. Clement. I was pleasantly surprised that I could book my appointment online as well as fill out the new patient information forms at the same time - they use a service called ZocDoc. The service also sends out a reminder email before the scheduled appointment and the office called to confirm that they had received my patient information online. The next thing that impressed me was that I did not have to cool my heels in the waiting room for more than about 10 minutes once I arrived for my appointment. The office has a handy X-Ray machine so I did not have to leave the premises to find out that I had a stress fracture. Dr. Clement's treatment of my injury was courteous and professional. He provided me with alternatives for engaging in physical activity while I wait for my fracture to heal. The office staff were terrific. Dr. Clement's assistant explained the process of putting on the (fashionable) half-boot I have to wear. I was out of there in a relatively short period of time. Good thing since I'm not the biggest fan of spending time in doctors' offices. read more

be wary of copays when you go here. i went to get their $75 medical orthotics, and had to pay a 95$ copay just to pick them up because "the doctor has to see you" i didn't even take off my shoes for him to look at my feet. another $95 copay to get $400 orthotics made. then another $95 copay to pick up the orthotics. again, doctor didn't do anything, he just handed me the orthotics. i had to spend nearly 300$ on copays for $475 of orthotics. $775 for 2 pairs of orthotics is not worth it. i wish they had been more upfront about their fees read more

As I signed into my appointment, I reminded them I needed 2 pre-made orthotics and my plan would cover it the same as before (prior to Medicare) or possibly a small copay. The receptionist told me Medicare doesn't cover it so the plan won't. I told her I spoke with my plan and it is covered, I just remember how much. The receptionist told me sometimes the plans are incorrect. So as I was updating my info. She came back to me and stated it would cost me $400 each, which angered me. I again reminded her my plan would pay for them and why don't they contact my plan to verify (I did not want to have to fill out a claim report and have the hassle of fighting to get my $800 back due to Dr Hansen's incompetent staffers). She agrued it wasn't covered so I picked up my phone (pissed off now) and started calling my plan telling the receptionist, THIS IS NOT MY JOB, I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO BE DOING THIS! In the meantime, the dr's nurse comes out and asks me what the problem was while I was on hold. I expressed again, this is not my job and I shouldn't have to be on the phone now proving my plan will pay for these orthotics! This nurse, with a hollier than thou demeaner, stated, as she got up, she was going to inform the doctor of my poor attitude. FREAKIN A, yeah! Tell him his patient is pissed off because she has to do his office staff's work! I had enough and walked out of their office! When my BCBS Fed Plan answered, they contacted Dr. Hansen's office (spoke with Dinesty?) and told them the orthotics were $0 copay each for my share!!!! Far cry from $800, I TOLD YOU SO!!! How hard would it have been to call my plan and have the payment verified??!! This is the 2nd time I have experienced incompetence from their office. I had previously tried another doctor but his ego was in the way of his pratice and thought I would give Dr Hansen another go at it, but they totally SUCK! IT IS NOT WORTH YOUR TIME TO EVER GO THERE! I wish I had seen the one star review before I went here. I would recommend staying as far away as possible, but if you do choose to go here, don't walk out the door with ANYTHING unless you are independently wealthy. Any prosthesis they try to give you, take a picture of it and find it on Amazon. They charged $700 for a walking cast ($65 on Amazon) and $900 EACH for two ankle braces ($95 on Amazon), one of which I couldn't even wear because it hurt my ankle! The doctor will spend about 5 minutes with you if you're lucky, and Dr. Hanson does not have the best bedside manor. Save yourself hard-earned money and frustration and stay away from Cactus Foot and Ankle!!! read more

Where to start...I was only in AZ for about 5 weeks when I had an accident. I walked into the end of a wire shelf and had a bad gash in my leg from above the ankle to mid leg. Initially I got emergency care at Urgent Care where I received 25 stitches. Two weeks later I had a nasty infection. They gave me 2 referrals. The first, could not see me for several weeks. I then called Cactus Foot & Ankle. Not sure if they could even help me because of the name, I called anyway. After explaining my injury, the MA on the phone assured me they could help. She set me up in less then 2 days hearing my urgency and at almost half the price of the first call. I was seen by Dr Hansen. Not only was I concerned about my leg but I had no insurance. He explained my wound would required a procedure to clean out the infection and abscess. I must of looked panicked as I saw $ signs with wings on them in my mind. He then said he and colleagues had a surgical clinic and would try to get me on the schedule. He told me not to worry, we would work something out. Two days later I had the procedure done. He said I would have a hole in my leg...but I have a leg! The surgical clinic was top notch. The nurses, anesthesiologist and front desk were all amazing. Reassuring, comforting and professional. Dr Hansen's care was above beyond. He made sure I had no financial concerns. If he turned me away, I'd of been forced to go to ER. The medical costs for outpatient procedure would of been more then I could handle. I came here to return to school after over 40 years, as well as relocate because of weather. If not for Dr Hansen's personal attention, I seriously would of had to pull out of school. This is a Dr that really cares. His staff is equally kind and caring. I will never forget what he did. This could of been very bad for me on many levels. I'm healing very well as he continue's do follow up care for me. I feel extremely blessed to have found Dr Hansen. If your looking for a compassionate and skilled Dr, look no further. I can't say thank you enough! Thanks to Dr Hansen, my first day of school is Monday. read more

I have been going to Dr. Hansen since 2006 & I will continue to see him for all my foot and ankle needs (I even drive all the way from Central Phoenix now to see him). He is simply amazing! He listens, he talks WITH you about options instead of talking AT you. He's compassionate & comforts you if you have a little panic attack or a breakdown like yours truly! I first saw the doctor in Feb 2018. He was fine, and we agreed to have some out patient surgery in May or early June 2018. We were traveling and were going to be out of town for next couple months. He gave me the pre op check out form, and explained everything listed on pre op needed to be done 30 days before surgery. I told him I would start on everything for a clearance in April upon our return. I Made all the appointments had the physical and EKG and received clearance around May 15th. Spent a lot of time and money doing this. Anyway when I called the Hansen office after the clearances were received by his office to schedule the surgery, I spoke with a rude lady who said the Dr. is on vacation for the whole month of June, and there was no way to get surgery done till July. I asked if I could get in before he leaves, she said NO. I explained to her the prior arrangements we had from the appointment in Feb, her response was someone should of told you about him being gone all of June. I was really shocked that they did not even TRY to make it work somehow. So now I have to find another Dr. and go thru the whole pre op stuff again. He is fired and this was the worst I ever have had. read more

Cactus Foot & Ankle overcharged me on my copay and refuses to send me a refund. I paid their copay 3 times for 3 separate visits (one of which was a follow up,) and I even questioned it when I was in the office. My insurance company confirms that I overpaid. I've been calling their office since January, getting the run-around, told to wait a few weeks, call back, call their 3rd party billing lady. I was even told by their billing person that she would send a refund check; that was 2 months ago. Just called the office again and they are not giving me a refund. read more

An absolute nightmare! Shame on me for returning to this office after years of being pressured by Dr. Hansen to have surgery on my feet when all I wanted was a good pair of orthotics. Well, this time around he agreed to make me orthotics but restarted the pressure for surgery again with no regard for my desires in the matter. The first pair of orthotics took over a month to arrive. I showed up for my confirmed follow-up appointment expecting to pick up my new orthotics. I had even been told by the receptionist the day before that they were in. Well, I showed up for my appointment, and there were no orthotics! They had never come in! So I left with no apology whatsoever. The doctor simply blamed it all on the lab. When I came back the following week, the pair had been made as a hard, half length pair; not the soft, full length pair Dr. Hansen had originally promised! So, once again I was back to square one, with nothing to show for all my time, money and aggravation! Dr. Hansen told me to temporarily use the half pair that had come in. After two hours of wearing them, I pulled a muscle on my hip area and spent Christnas week in bed in extreme pain and unable to walk because of how poorly made the pair was! Thanks doc! I am still sore and walking with a heavy limp. Hopefully I didn't tear a ligament because of the faulty orthotics. Out of curiosity, I called the lab that the doctor uses to ask why there had been so many glitches. It was a fair question. After all, this lab was paid $650 from my insurance company for these orthotics and Dr. Hansen was handing them all the blame. The lab then called Dr. Hansen who immediately called me to rant and rave at me like a madman! His manner was scary, like he was going berserk! All because I called a company to inquire about the delays and design problems with my paid orthotics! Take my advice and run! Dont walk away from this knife happy surgeon - run, run, RUN!! And don't make the mistake I made and go back. Run! read more

Dr. Hansen was great. He has treated my child and me. He is very conservative in treatment, doesn't rush to procedures or surgery. I had been to another guy who failed to identify the problem, spent a year on a broken foot that never healed. Because of my child's experience, I decided to have him look at me. He identified the surprising problem, even a second break first Dr. had missed. Results have been positive for both of us. For me, he gave the option of bone regeneration before considering surgery. He said "I could go in and deal with it, but why if we can get the same results trying a less invasive procedure." It worked and now I do not have to be off the foot for two months post-surgery. A great thing. He is very kind and gentle, took very good care of my child and was very conservative with him, and took time to explain everything to me regarding break at growth plate, a serious thing. Even replaced faulty equipment without billing me. My only gripe is why don't they have online Bill Pay?? The billing office they use is terrible. I would go back, but I'd pay the expected bill while I am there to avoid phone tag with a billing office. I'm surprised at negative comments; not our experience at all. But some "snowbirds" are never satisfied. read more
