It was time to replace our 25 year old alarm system. After interviewing four companies, I decided on Alarm2000. I definitely made the right choice. Keith came to our house to describe the different options for hardware, services, and contracts. He answered all of our questions thoroughly and in great detail. He was patient and never rushed. It was decided that almost all of our old system was to be replaced, except the door and window contacts. I was surprised when I found out that there was no charge for all of the new hardware (over $1,000 worth of parts), but only a two year monitoring contract, which actually cost less than our old contract. A week later, the installer showed up right on time. I watched him install the new system, and bothered him with a lot of questions. He then programmed it and ran us through the operation of the new keypads. A few days later, we had a small glitch. I called Keith, and he had the installer come the next day and worked it out. Very timely and professional. I highly recommend this company. They are personal, professional, and seem to take pride in their work. Thank you Keith. read more

We needed an alarm system with live video monitoring for our office. Keith from alarm 2000 is a great salesman and returns calls in a timely manner. The reason for the 1 star - The monitoring company ( central security ) is lacking in professional knowledge. Example: Central security called us to do a "monthly" test of the system and could not complete the test because of non monitoring and technical issues. Per the central security tech we where not being monitored for 6 months. we called alarm 2000, they came to our office in a timely manner, called the monitoring company and figured out it was a technical glitch. regarding the non monitoring for 6 months, per another tech from central security they believe we where being monitored. Since then we have not received a "monthly" call from central security to check our system. I called them 2 months after to check to see if they called to complete the check on our system and they did not and they did not acknowledge that this was something that they do. In regard to Alarm.com : They have a phone app that is easy to use which is nice however the reason why I am not happy with alarm.com is because it does not allow me to monitor the the exterior of my office. This was the main requirement for they system. the video times out after 15 seconds and or does not connect to the camera and or is pixelated. I have called alarm.com to figure out what the problem was and was directed to call alarm 2000. Keith and his tech came to my office and tried to fix it but could not. Alarm.com also requires a java plug in which I added but it still does not work. I have also tried to monitor the video in different web browsers and that did not work. Regarding the panel inside the office - from time to time the security system it self has errors to which you just have to wait 24 to 48 hours for it to clear itself out. I understand all alarm systems have issues but the biggest disappointment to me is the video monitoring. We have been experiencing the same problems since day 1 with no resolution to date. There seems to be a disconnect between sales and the actual product they are selling. If I could do it over again I would not go with Alarm 2000 or Alarm.com. read more

We were looking for a company to help us install an alarm system in our house. We looked on yelp and called a few different companies. Alarm2000 ended up winning the job. We made a great choice. They have been professional and very helpful explaining how everything works. We wanted to use a smart app on our iphone and found that alarm.com was one of the options with their equipment. I had my system installed by Alarm 2000 about November 2012. I was very impressed with Keith and never felt he was trying to upsell me. The install took a little longer than expected but I didn't feel it was a problem at all. I went with a basic service and want to upgrade by adding camera once we agree on a system that allows me to quickly/easily burn video footage onto a CD for police, if needed. I LOVE all the bells & whistles that ADT & Cox offer but I need a company I can TRUST! We had one glitch a couple months into the system and it took two visits to troubleshoot but again, that wasn't a problem as it was finally resolved. And the technician was gracious enough to hook up/program a smoke detector a friend had given me that works with our system & didn't charge me for that service. So far, I don't have any complaints and the folds a Central Monitoring Group have been great as well! read more
