Previously I had a very negative perception of Five Alarm Security and my prior review reflected that. After my review, Sean @ Five Alarm contacted me in an effort to work through the issues that I had with his company. Five Alarm Security isn't perfect, what I do appreciate about the company and Sean is their willingness to listen to issues that their customers are experiencing as well as their effort to resolve their deficiencies. The issues that I had in the past have been resolved and I feel it's the right thing to increase my review to 4 stars to show my appreciation. My only regret is that the situation needed to come to this point in order to get resolution. I would not recommend 5 Alarm. I am highly disappointed with their service. They were supposed to install Honeywell keypads and did not. The two keypads they installed were poor quality and two hours after installing they quit working. I called and asked them to come back out to repair. After 4 phone calls of them saying they would be coming out they never showed. As of date the keypads are still not working and have not been replaced with Honeywell keypads. Also, I received a bill where they billed me for 4 hours of service and they never even came out to the house for that day and billed me additional charges. Update: I am amending my original 1 star review to a 3 star not because I am using their service but because the owner called me to try and resolve the issue, I still can't stomach trusting my family's or business's safety and security to an organization that can't respond by standard with ready and timely assistance but I do respect that they are trying to better their business by taking criticism constructively, best of luck if you choose them. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I can't speak to their actual service, I can say though that I called twice looking for a quote and that it took them well over a week to get a call back and when they did they left a very curt message asking rudely if I was still looking for a service, THAT'S IT no information about their services or reason as to why it had taken them so long to get back. So I don't know about you, but I feel that prompt and responsive service is a must have for home security... kind of common sense. read more

We have used 5 Alarm Security for many many years for our home and rental properties. When we recently got new windows in our and were looking for an upgraded system I decided to search around because it had been so long. However, the trust, willingness, and customer service we've had with them over the years is unbeatable. If there's a delay in their response, call again. If they are priced a little higher than someone else ask Sean about it. He will either match the offer or explain the difference in the equipment value. Seam Hamm is the owner of this shady security company. Security equipment never worked right start from beggining. Then first complaint of malfunction on equipment, technician could not fix/could not make it work right and main office just made the problem section Sensor turned off. And later stage siren was making so much noise from the house. Then my neighbor called me up about my security alarm was making loud noise and worried. Then I tried to call this company up for repair. Then Ms Jay Brown who is the office lady told me repair bill will be $100/hour. We had other technical problem and previous company fix it for free. But took more than three hours. I asked Ms. Brown if repair takes three hours, how much repair bill will be. $300. You will never know the shocking hi repair bill until they fix. Remember their technician came several times in several different days. Bill can be so high. Falks if you want good security company, I strongly suggest to look other company. Sean Hamm's contract was so unfair and we felt his business practice is highly questionable. If you have similar experience, get in touch with Yelp, company review, Better business bureau and you may get legal advice from your lawyer. Also Sean Hamm up sold price of service from $25.99 to $30plus. But I did not have first conversation record with Sean Hamm nor I had enough time to look around. I do hold regular job. I cannot spend all day for looking around the security companies. He hides behind office lady's back while he is listening my conversation with Mis. Brown(his office lady). What a guy. He made me sign three year's contract. If I knew how he screw service charge to customer, I would never went with this company. Also cancellation charge would be equivalent to the rest of the balance of the bill. NO GOOD! read more

When I bought my house, I had Five Alarm Security install my security system. I've had them for almost 3yrs and they have been great! Whenever I accidentally set off the alarm, they call to ensure everything is ok. Unfortunately, I've hit the panic button a few more times than I should have. They are good about calling the police and having them cancel the alarm. They are great, friendly and would recommend them to anyone. read more

Do not EVER use this company. One of their agents, Leticia Olvera, has left stickers on my front door and put them over the ADP stickers we already have up. Her business cards have been dropped in our mail slot for weeks. When I called to ask her to stop soliciting at our store, she LAUGHED at me. This type of predatory sales is not acceptable. Five Alarm Security has horrible customer service. I've been a loyal customer since 2011 by paying automatically month to month. I am very disappointed with this company and I will never again do business with them and ensure my family and friends neither. I really hope this helps you when shopping for your home or business security alarm.MAKE SURE YOUR READ THEIR CONTRACTS BEFORE SIGNING. The contract I signed was for a 5 year term and automatically renews for successive three year term thereafter unless given cancelation written request 45-days prior. They can increase payments 30-days prior to renewal. If you request to have this contract waived because you need to cancel their service or forget to call them before it renews or any other issues they will not consider your loyalty whatsoever. You will have to pay the balance of the contract no matter what. Horrible way of showing gratitude for all the years I was loyal to this local business. read more

I have been working with Sean and the team at Five Alarm for close to 2 decades and the reason is simple; they do it right, with great customer service for a competitive price. I've had Five Alarm arm my business building (16,000 sq. ft.) as well as my last house in Bay Park, which now my parents have bought and taken over. We discussed moving the system to our new home or leaving it but since Five Alarm did such a good job as they always do we left it in place and paid them to do an entire new system in our new home. They even came out to train my parents on the operation of the system as an added perk. Can't say enough about the quality and integrity of Sean, his company and his team. I can't recommend this local business highly enough. They provide the full range of security setup for home or business, plus a very competitively priced monitoring service. We have an older residential system that no longer worked. Several years ago I called around and got quotes and most the big chains (ADT, etc) simply wanted to reinstall all new. Sean at 5 Alarm, found a great solution for me with re-conditioned panels and equipment which got the whole system working again. This past month I wanted to add additional security layers to my existing system...no problem with these guys, they added modern monitors and panels without trying to up sell me on all new equipment..they just made things work! Also, they kept to the original quote, even though a couple of unforeseen items had to be added. We use Five Alarm for our office security. We have 5 different suites that are all utilizing the security program. We are VERY happy with the program we signed up for and the service we have gotten. They do a great job getting everything setup and explaining to you how to use the different features of the alarm. In addition they also do a great job answering questions after you are up and running. We have our suites wireless connected to save on hardware and it works great. The iphone app feature is great to turn the alarm off for employees. The web portal also does a great job of letting know who came in and out of the building.
