By the way, long-term parking is free and they will give you a sign to put in your dashboard if you arrive early enough before your train departs so you have time to walk it down to your car. While the staff on the trains themselves are not very friendly for the most part, the staff at the station are very helpful and polite. Train travel, can't be time-consuming, but it can also be relaxing. My hat is off to the staff at the Amtrak station in San Luis Obispo.

Amtrak personnel are on site, so you can make ticket changes or stash your bags if you have time to walk around and explore. There is a railroad museum adjacent to the station as well; railroad buffs and kids will enjoy a visit there. The station is somewhat busy with North and South trains coming through. Just make sure you are boarding the correct train; it can get confusing and the volunteer helpers sometimes make things more confusing. All aboard!!

From our first interaction with her when we called to say we were behind schedule in pick-up, she was very friendly and let us know we still had plenty of time to get there. Once there, she was very knowledgeable and thorough in giving the orientation and made us feel very comfortable before we drove away. Upon return, again, Katherine greeted us so friendly and seemed genuinely happy to see us again. As for the RV, my husband and I rented the 25' for a 9 day trip to the Grand Canyon. This was perfect size for us and our two small dogs. It was clean upon pick up, and everything functioned well. We brought disinfectant wipes before pick up, as we thought we'd have to wipe everything down, but it was so clean, we didn't feel the need. This was my husbands first time driving an RV, and while the first couple of hours took getting used to, by the second day, he drove it as comfortably as his own truck. Overall the whole experience from online booking, to onsite pick up and drop off was great. We'd definitely do it again!

The last two times I rented I got a motorhome with solar panels on the roof, so we didn't need to use the generator at all. Matt, the young man at the rental office, took his time to show me all the motorhome's features and made sure I understood how everything worked, For the money, I think a Cruise America motorhome is one of the best vacation deals out there. My only suggestion for improvement is that they be a bit more flexible with the return time, since having to return the motorhome by 12:00 cuts into precious vacation time. Overall, Cruise America in Nipomo has always exceeded my expectations and I will be coming back.

We ending up having to call their customer service line on our own and were on the phone for over 30 mins in order to get any help. The local woman at the Avis location, was zero help, had an attitude and had no interest in trying to help us. When we had to drop off the rental at the end of our trip we had a similar experience, with an extreme lack of customer service. My honest opinion on Avis in general, is run as far away as you can. If you are looking for a rental car, this would be my very last choice. There are so many other, preferable car rental options!

This is located in Pismo Beach which is also known as Arroyo Grande, not Ariana Grande unfortunately, that's the Florida version. It's just a couple miles south of San Luis Obispo and the buses stop both there and here, so it's pretty handy for the people who live down here in Pismo Beach, which is a gorgeous and rich area. In fact it's quiet here, and I don't think too many people use the Greyhound, which is probably why every time we ever stopped here pretty much nobody ever got on board.

I had a horrible experience renting from this location today. I had a reservation and was refused…read morea car. I have had a valid temporary Canadian Drivers license, valid credit cards in my name, and a valid US passport. I am a us citizen and I have a current California Drivers license as well. Canada asked that I give it to them as I cannot have a second drivers license due to fraud concerns. So I only have a photo of my Cali license. I get that i cannot use a digital copy.... even though I have rented from this location multiple times. I was told that because my Canadian DL did not have a picture it was not Valid. Maybe not for enterprise, but for everyone else it is a Valid form of ID. Especially in conjunction with a passport. Oddly, if I had a temporary DL from California with no photo it would have not been an issue. Not sure why that matters. She said it was about proving I was who I claimed. I was also told I could use a Costco card with my picture, but when I went to produce it. The agent refused to look at it got angry, and told me she would not rent me a car today and I needed to leave. This is as she was waiting on possible approval from her manager. To be clear this felt more about her being on a power trip than anything else. I had not cursed at her, no yelled in any manner. I was trying to remain composed but felt she was giving me the runaround. I had witnessed her doing the same things to others who called in about their reservations. At 2:30 (they close at 5:30) she told some person on the phone that she would NOT rent her a car today. I could tell the customer asked to pick up the car when they opened at 8. She curtly told her again that she would NOT rent them a car at 8. They would have to wait until 9. Then told the customer to feel free to cancel her reservation. It's one thing to say I can't rent you a car because you cannot for valid reason. It absurd to just get on a power trip and tell people that you will NOT rent them a car they have reserved. And to be clear. They had plenty of cars as it was early afternoon, and I was the only one in the place. She could have rented cars had she wanted to. She just seemed to bothered. I will add she appeared to try to call a manager. But whether she gave her manager the complete story is unknown. I checked the enterprise website and it appears I did have the proper documents. Here is the policy pulled directly from enterprise website. In some US and Canadian locations, customers not holding a US/Canadian driver's license may be asked to provide additional, valid government-issued documentation. Examples of this may include a valid passport. Customers with a driver's license from Mexico may be required to present a valid voter registration card from Mexico. In addition, inbound and outbound travel documentation may be required. Temporary driver's licenses may be refused if the renting location is unable to otherwise verify the customer's identity or verify the authenticity of the temporary license. Additional government-issued identification may be required. I provided a US passport issued by the United States. I have heard the US passport does not carry as much weight as it used to, but I never expected it to be refused inside the US.

At first I was a little nervous but our "chauffeur" Matias made me feel really comfortable and we had the best time. All the cool places he took us and all the knowledge he had about the different locations were amazing. I learned so much about the area I had been coming to since the 70's! We had a blast waving to everyone we saw along the way. You just can't help but wave and talk to people when you're in this awesome sidecar motorcycle. Most people smiled and waved back at us. So much fun. The only thing I would change is, Matias is such a great photographer and took some amazing pictures but we never got a picture of the three of us, bummer. He was so personable, I would highly recommend him as your driver, but get a picture with him!
