Most people wouldn't ever describe a visit to the dentist as something enjoyable, but Dr. Muss and his staff make it the best they can. From the wide availability of appointments for when you need your twice-yearly cleaning (the receptionist is super-efficient and always seems to know what she's doing - making an appt over the phone is literally a 1- to 2-minute affair), to the WONDERFUL and warm dental hygienists, to Drs. Muss and Ryu, the entire experience is one I don't dread whatsoever. They always ask me relevant questions about my life, and are very engaging. The office is clean and bright, with requisite bits and bobs hanging from the ceiling and mounted on the walls to give you something to stare at while your teeth are being picked. The office keeps good records and uses top-notch X-ray equipment; they're now using the kind that supposedly doesn't emit the harmful radiation and shoots your entire mouth in only a couple of bursts, but they still have you wear the gown and thyroid piece as a precaution. They make notes in my records that I hate bubblegum- and cinnamon-flavored polish, and always use the mint-flavored one. They're gentle flossers, and they never harangue you for not flossing X times per week. I also appreciate that the DDS does a really thorough inspection before you leave, and he never pressures me to get unnecessary dental work done, such as removing my wisdom teeth, etc. I feel like other dentists out there are apt to prod patients to get wisdom teeth removed so they can make more money or get a referral fee from their oral surgeon buddies, but Dr. Muss is honest and tells me I don't need 'em pulled (for now :) ). While most places wouldn't hesitate to sell her a new set, they saw the quality of the ones she had (they made quality things back then unlike disposable things today) they said that they could fix them, saving a 93 year old a lot of money. That was very much appreciated and since I was in the market for a new dentist, I gave them a try. I was very impressed with their professionalism and how they handled themselves with a new patient. They start by taking your blood pressure, and checking X-rays and gum health. She is so thorough with her explanations and shows you the images too. She noticed things that my previous dentists overlooked, and found the root cause to my jaw clenching and grinding. She truly cares about her patience's health and well being. I am a highly anxious person, hence the grinding/clenching, and dentist appts always brought me more anxiety. She ALWAYS ask what she can do to make the experience better. She provides me with a blanket, and a mango stress ball. She also offers clients the Tv remote, sunnies, pillows, etc. I am always treated with care. On top of that, the office has an office doggo!! It is small and so so cute! The dental hygienist are kind too and try their best to create rapport with the clients. The appt usually takes an hour and since they're with you, it creates a safe space. You can park in the front or in the bottom level of the nearby garage.

I've been coming to West Falls Church Dental for years. Never had a bad experience and always felt taken care of and not just another head coming through the door. They provide you with the information to make a conscious decision about your dental health, and work with you on the financial side of things too. Good work isn't cheap and cheap work isn't good. The dental hygienist and the doctor are on top of your issues and their transition is seamless. I absolutely hate teeth cleaning but the hygienist I have there is wonderful, she's got that magic touch where I feel no pain and no discomfort, and that makes me come back for more, lol. Dr. Wu is a great communicator, methodical, and an excellent practitioner overall. I've been very well taken care of in this practice.

Waiting room was fine. I get back into the chair for my appointment and the dental assistant starts working on getting X rays of my mouth. These hard, uncomfortable blocks (that I'm very used to after 30 years of dental x rays) are sitting between my teeth to bite down on - which anyone who has had dental X-rays I'm sure can relate to. The oral hygienist REPEATEDLY accidentally knocked into me -- jamming the x ray and cutting my mouth. He had no spatial awareness and it was incredibly painful. Then, the dentist comes in. She says "hi, I know you usually see (Doctor) but they're out today so you'll be seeing me." I said I am a new patient and have never been here. So that wasn't a good look. Dental cleaning was fine, pretty standard. The condition of the room was kind of grimy and I saw a bug crawling on the ground. I'm used to a much more polished dental office, this felt like a run down old Arlington apartment with old rusty radiators. Anyway, so at the end of my cleaning they say if I get fluoride it will cost $30. I said that's fine, because that was the ONLY expense I was expecting to pay. I had asked repeatedly during my calls with this office to ensure that I understood what my financial responsibility would be. They said it's all covered by insurance (other than the fluoride). So, I check out and head home. Since that appointment, I have received texts for several months now from this office claiming I owe $100. Each time I get the text, I call the office and speak to someone. Each time, they aren't sure of the charge and say they'll check and call me back. The never call me back. So I wait around over and over for another "you owe $100 text" and then call again and try to handle the issue. No one has been able to give me a clear answer. The staff is extremely disorganized and unprofessional. I finally paid the $100 since now it's "overdue" and I'm clearly not going to get any resolution. But in return, I decided to write this review. Which originally I wasn't going to do because I wanted to give this place a chance. Turns out it's disorganized, unprofessional, poor communication, misleading financial information, and generally not a good vibe. I don't recommend.
