This was by far the absolute worst dental office that I have ever been to. If you've ever watched…read morethe Stepford Wives then going to this dental office will give you flash backs. The entire staff speaks in this exceedingly nice tone, but grumbles under their breath especially the front desk office manager. She has a horrible attitude. The doctor himself, Dr. Allegretti, could give a rats behind about your teeth. All he cares about is how much money he could make off of you. He's rude when you question what he suggests for your teeth. A few people that I spoke with felt the same way about him and never went back after their first procedure. The only thing that was nice was all of the free tolietry in the bathroom. But who needs that after you just dropped $500 for a procedure that you didn't even need.

Dr. Allegretti, who has moved his practice to Provincetown, MA since 2007, is by far the BEST…read moredental office I've ever been to. Pros: 1.) Teaching dentist He explains everything about what is going on with your teeth, and is always willing to discuss your options with you. He takes the time you need to decide. No pressure or on-the-spot decisions. 2.) Technology and hygiene The technology and hygiene in this office is exceptional. I've moved from the area and have yet to find as good a practice. All-white, mercury- and metal-free fillings and crowns that are stronger than amalgam. Everything is clean, the technology is cutting edge, and the doctor takes the time to ensure your oral hygiene throughout your procedure is impeccable (rubber dams for all possible fillings). This kind of attention is rare because it makes the job take longer -- so, the doctor can make less money on you (more time per appointment = fewer appointments per day). 3.) Skilled doctor This is a dentist who is really an artist. All of the work he did on my teeth was beautiful and has stayed so (11 fillings, 18 months ago, you'd never know it). I've seen dentists since who didn't even realize I had all of those fillings until they x-rayed, they were done so well. Really high level of expertise and skill. 4.) Attentive staff that makes sure you are Pain-Free A completely painless experience. Dr. Allegretti and his dental assistant (always has one) ensures that you are comfortable throughout your visit. Totally numb. They really pay attention to your comfort level. Before I saw Dr. Allegretti, I thought I had a good dentist. I never had dental anxiety. I went for yearly checkups and regular cleanings every six months. So I'm not one of these people who was always afraid of the dentist, and didn't go. I'm one of the people who has ALWAYS gone. Even when I moved to the Cape, I still saw the same guy I'd always seen, every six months or so when I went home to see family. I started seeing Allegretti because I needed a second opinion on a tooth whose root canal was unsuccessful. I didn't know if I had cracked the tooth or what, so a friend recommended giving him a try (that friend was a former dental-anxiety person whose experience with Dr. Allegretti improved the way he felt about dentists). Wow what a difference! Besides all the things I already wrote, which stood out in stark contrast to my previous experience, I discovered that because my old dentist had always used the probe (the metal hook thing) to test for cavities, he had missed a bunch. Dr. Allegretti uses this tool to test for cavities that is basically a bone density scan. It's so precise. What I didn't know about cavities is that they very often start under the surface of your teeth, underneath the enamel, and can't be confirmed with the probe until they've come up to the surface so to speak, and are quite large. If you catch them early, they're little and not a big deal. Many of my little cavities were filled for much less money than fillings usually cost -- I mean in the $100-200 range -- because they weren't that bad yet. I will never see another dentist that doesn't use that tool. Even if you are happy with your current dentist, if you are anywhere near Dr. Allegretti I would give him a try for your next regular checkup and cleaning. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I'm a huge baby when it comes to getting something done to my teeth. I only have one cavity, and my…read moredental life has been pretty insignificant. I go in for cleanings and come out with a toothbrush. I had spaghetti and cracked my tooth on a red pepper seed ( the shaker kind). I go to my dentist, whom I love (Dr. Erik Fox), and he gives me a root canal. This is the root canal from hell (three sessions), but he handles it, and everything seems to be going well until...I develop a blister on my gum. Dr. Erik sent me to Northern Virginia Oral, Maxillofacial, and Implant Surgery and promised they would take good care of me. He wasn't wrong. Did I mention I'm a crybaby? LOL! During the consultation, I started crying when they told me what was going to happen. Just tears leaking out of my eyes, but they were so kind to me. Dr. Aslam assured me that it was ok. When people had traumatic episodes with dentists when they were younger (I did), they're often really scared. He promised everything would be ok..and it was. I went in, and they let my husband come back with me and hold my hand. After the needle went in for the anesthesia, I remember nothing except going to the spice markets in Marakesh...that's a wild dream, right? But not a bad one. When I woke up, they gave me a care package to take home and helped my husband get me into the car after giving him aftercare instructions. The care package had my first two doses of pain medication, pear-flavored chapstick for my lips, a barf bag (just in case), tons of gauze, and instructions on how to take care of the wound. I was thrilled that they not only got the tooth out but could do the bone graft and implant placement all at once. From the reception area people (Hi Amber!) to Dr Aslam and the nurses, I felt I was in good hands. They were understanding about my anxiety and never belittled it. They LITERALLY held my hand through the experience. I would definitely recommend them.

We showed up for the consultation appointment and waited for almost an hour to be seen; when we go back, the dentist was looking at 2 yr old xrays and I had to point that fact out to him because he couldn't read the date...which i though was kind of a red flag, pink it least. So, they do updated xrays and we move forward with the consultation and I schedule an appt to get my sons wisdom teeth removed. The appointment was scheduled more than 30 days out... the evening before the appointment on June 6, 2025, I received a call saying the insurance was still not confirmed and unless i wanted to pay out of pocket, they would have to reschedule the appointment. I asked them to call me back to schedule once they verify insurance. This place NEVER called back. What I have received, 2 billings for $10.93 with no indication why i was billed. I get it it's $10.93, it least its not $110.93. I paid this a month ago because I realize this place is not good and I just want them to go away. Today, August 1, 2025, I received the same billing for $10.93. I called at 330pm on a Friday and the office is closed, but the office hours are listed to be open til 430pm. The point in all this is, don't waste your time with this practice, find a better place for you or your family member to be put under and have someone cutting into your mouths.

The Dentist and his assistant made sure I understood what I needed, the Dentist identified sone other issues, but told me we would deal with those later. No pushy fear fed sales talk. They made sure I understood the cost, what insurance paid and what I was paying. No extra fee for being an emergency walk in. Almost totally painless work, my new crown was made there, in house and to be honest was perfect. The cost was reasonable, the staff very professional and I now have a new dentist office!

Having an urgent errand, we asked the front desk if we can come back to pick her up after her teeth is cleaned. They said yes, and we left. Long story short, they call us back to say that they can't do anything to her teeth until the guardian/parent is there at the office. If that's the case, why did the front desk tell us that its okay to come back later to pick her up?! If they told us about this while we were at the office, we could have rearranged our plan instead of having our child stay there doing nothing until we come back. Wasting our time, no apology, blaming us for this "miscommunication", this will be our last visit.
