DO NOT EAT HERE!! I ordered the shrimp fajitas. They were the little tiny cheap shrimp that were so dry! When we took it back up, they didn't understand what was wrong with the shrimp! $12 later and with no food to eat, I had to share with my husband. Albaro's has been around for years and I would get food from time to time but it just wasn't that good. After not going there for several years I decided to try it one more time. Pleasant surprise! The interior has been freshened up and the food was terrific. I really love the rolled tacos and carnitas tacos. The rolled tacos come with guac and cheese and are delicious. &5.99 for five huge taquitos. The carnitas tastes fresh and also wonderful. I always ask for a bag of spicy carrots that are no charge. I probably order food there once a week now. The staff is very friendly and professional. If you've never been or haven't been there in awhile I strongly suggest you give this family restaurant a try. read more

For a.m., the Breakfast burritos seem to be our thing there, and the hubs likes the Highland Burrito for a p.m. pick. They never get a special order wrong or leave anything out even when super busy. First time here even after living in this Area for 10 yrs. So I found out it is a Generic Mexican food place. Food is ok their Mexican hot sauce is bland, Chile relleno wasn't actual poblano chile and the sauce was not good either. Their Flautas are flour & I'm use to corn tortillas Flautas which theirs got soggy after all the toppings.Their Mexican "Aguas Frescas" drinks had no flavor. I'll probably come back for the basics like tacos, nachos or maybe the fries and expect mediocre flavor. Maybe it'll change my mind getting other platters but who knows‍ So far the plates I ordered weren't good, And Well two things were good their rice and beans. read more

I tried this place for the first time the other day. I ordered the Chili Relleno Burrito Special which came with fries and a drink. It was an absolutely enormous portion, which lasted for 2 1/2 meals! The burrito was filled with rice, beans and a red sauce, with a delicious chili relleno inside that was big ,cheesy and very flavorful. It was topped with a fiery, roasted jalapeno chili! The fries were very tasty and hot, as was my burrito. The service was fast and polite. I did notice another customer after me who was a bit gruff to them, and they were polite to him as well, so kudos to them for that. Yes, they only have a few spaces, but I'm sure one could park across the way with no problem if all spaces were taken- or just get the food to go. Glad I didn't read these reviews before I went because I thought the food was delicious and a great value for the price! read more

If I could leave no stars I would the last 3 times they have missed charged me. This time they missed charged me and didn't give me my full order. They told me to come back and they would give me the rest of my order. When I got there they said no we're only giving you a taco and a fry !!! Told me to come back charged me for my full order and then said no only 1 taco and a fry what a joke never going back again. This place is mediocre. The taquitos are dry as hell please whatever you do don't order the taquitos. My steak burrito had no rice and beans all I told him was no onions on my burrito. I guess no onions means no beans and rice to them?? My steak burrito was deadass steak rolled up in a tortilla. I also ordered an horchata that tasted like water with a mix of horchata. Not only was the food nasty but they charge you an extra 75 cents to use your debit card. I paid almost 14 dollars for steak rolled up in a tortilla, 7 fries and a nasty ass horchata. One of the irreplaceable food places in the area. Super nachos are delish and carne asada fries with sour cream always hits the spot. Occasionally the carne asada seasoning will have a bit of a kick but its a welcoming heat. Chili verde burrito is amazing if you like spicy foods, def. try it. So food is great, customer service is even better. Everyone is always so nice and greets you with a smile, no matter what time of the day. Even if it's 1am they treat me no different then when I come in at 1pm. It's a small family-shop, so it has that welcoming vibe to it and it also feels good when supporting local businesses. I just had the Lengua Cabeza and grilled chicken tacos. I have been eating at this place for about 23 years or so, and I love it. The Super Nachos are amazing, the taquito plate special is delicious, and their burritos are pretty good too. Portions are quite big, so prepare for that. The taquitos have a good amount of meat in them, which I feel is pretty rare among a lot of the taco shops lately. We called Albaro's to see what they offered for catering, we were able to get a 4 foot burrito and a taquito platter with beans and rice for an amazing price. This place doesn't look like much from the outside or inside, but the food is the bomb! They have the best breakfast burrito in town. You can chose from 2 different sizes, but be prepared if you order the large: it's as big as my forearm. The green sauce has a nice bite and is probably the best green sauce I've ever tasted. Albaro's is one of those hole-in-the-wall gems. Located in Highland on the corner of 5th Street and Boulder Avenue in a little plaza, they've been a Highland staple for almost a decade. They USED to be open 24 hours a day - but during the past few years they've cut back their hours. Still - they are open til midnight during the week and 3am weekends; making Albaro's the perfect place to go when you're craving decent greasy food late at night. Ahhhhh their food. Their Mexican food is consistantly delicious, if a little on the greasy side. But who cares?! Sometimes you crave grease! Their food has been consistently good. The wife ADORES their cheese enchiladas. Tortas, enchiladas, tacos, carne asada, burritos...all the expected dishes are done here and done well. Whereas the food here isn't *spectacular* and would normally get 3 stars - the fact that the family-based employees here are always friendly and helpful and their ingredients are fresh...coupled with their late hours...earns them the extra star! I have been coming here for many years to buy food for my family and myself. Saturday I bought three burritos. A machaca burrito. A al pastor burrito and a chili relleno burrito. The pastor burrito was ground beef.I have eaten Mexican food for 40 years and I've never seen that before. Flavor was not good either. The chile relleno burrito I ordered with beans rice and some chili verde meat sauce. That was $8.49. that was rice pico de gallo and one small chili relleno inside of it. Horrible. The michalka was flavor less as well. I'm not sure what's going on there but it's not good anymore for whatever reason. Not to mention the three burritos were nearly $25 in total price. I could smell the fresh tortillas in the car, the rolled tacos were really good but the burritos!!! It's a pretty tiny place nestled in the corner but they're quick and good. It's my first time here and the menu is huge. I was also surprised that they have Big and Junior sized burritos.
