Cucas is a childhood favorite that I absolutely loved. I would get the taquitos growing up through the drive-through after getting out of school at Bonnie Ohel. Now I have since moved and have not lived in San Bernardino for over 25 years and I decided to take my daughter as I have not had great taquitos in such a long while. I'm so happy to see that they have grown into a new location, which is the old Kay's Cafe. New to the area, wanted some tacos, Found this spot near home. Came in with a party of 3 got seated right away. Servers were very attentive and so welcoming. Really great service! They do serve you chips and salsa, first basket is free after it's a Charge. The salsa was good, but is spicy! They have so many options to choose from. I ordered the combination plate two items. Two chicken tacos. The tacos were okay. Tasted a little dry. My husband got the two item as well. Got the chicken enchilada and beef taquitos, which was pretty good. Yep, back again. I just love a good deal when it comes to lunch or dinner not to mention the portions. The taste absolutely amazing. GREAT FOOD AND GREAT SERVICE! Remember when Cuca's was on Highland Ave and had the drive thru? Well, their new location doesn't have a drive thru but the food is just as delicious and now they have an APP that is easy to use and works great. I ordered 4 combo meals and it was ready for pick up in about 13 minutes. Just the right time for me to get there. Two of the combos included Taquitos so they put them in separate containers so they wouldn't get soggy. We think that was very thoughtful and much appreciated. They are located in the former Kay's Cafe building but remodeled with a very good ambiance. The food was fresh, hot and delicious. We have ordered (To Go) several times and never been disappointed. I've been a fan of Cuca's for years -- I've been to their Redlands, Mentone, Yucaipa, and Rialto locations -- and I have to say, this Highland spot (at the old Kay's Café) is one of the best! The place has been completely remodeled and has such a fresh, inviting vibe. We enjoyed some beer and margaritas (both excellent ), and our server Moses (Abraham) made us feel so welcomed. He gave great recommendations, and every dish hit the mark -- flautas, enchiladas, fajitas, arroz, frijoles, and the fresh guac were all delicious. Tried out this place for breakfast while I was in the area and was thoroughly impressed. The interior was amazing and the staff was so friendly when we entered. We got seated and our drinks immediately. It was breakfast so I ordered a bowl of Menudo. I usually am skeptical with my Menudo from restaurants, but this place got rid of that worry for me. The broth was a nice consistency as well as the tripe. I got to make it spicy and add all the seasonings I wanted so I was a happy camper. This weekend went to castle park for my birthday. But brought my family to try my favorite spot CUCA's. I bragged so much to them about this place, they wanted to try it. We haven't been to Cuca's, Rialto, for a while and found out it had closed! Booo!! So, there is another one in Highland, 210 freeway west at Baseline exit It was empty when we got there at 4:30 pm, but filled up while we were there. Service was outstanding and drinks (margaritas) were perfect. There were 10 of us for a birthday party and the whole group loved their choices! I had spicy shrimp and loved it. The older gentleman at the counter was patient and kind as this was my first visit and I had a few questions about their menu. I ordered 2 BOWLS of their chicken & vegetable soup with a side of chips & cheese. IT HAD SOOO MUCH SHREDDED CHICKEN and the veggies were super fresh. The salsa is homemade and very tasty. My daughter loved the soup as well. I definitely recommend Cuca's; it is the best authentic tasting Mexican food in Highland. Whenever I stay @Yamaava or Bear Springs Hotel, I always seem to find myself driving to Cuca's (it's less than 10 minutes away from either hotel/casino).
