Repeated attempts to replace a part on a Valco stroller continues to prove difficult. I have emailed both Albeebabee and Valco to no avail. Valco keeps referring me to Albeebabee. I've filled out the forms and emailed for nearly 4 months with no response. We loved our Valcobaby duo stroller. All it needed was a minor repair. I bought this last week from here and it came in a a box that was in a terrible condition. I'm not sure if they sent me a return or just a product that had been sitting in a bad condition warehouse for many months. The Stroller has 2 horrible screeching noises that are not fixable. Their policy indicates product to ship in approximately 2 business days and up to another 5 business day for the carrier to delivery (west coast). Contact albeebaby if your tracking update says label created for more than 2 business days and don't trust their email confirmation indicated shipped. 2. Upon research, found out that products are older in terms of product manufacture; hence, the reason to why it may be cheaper than other retailers. We purchased knowing this and didn't mind. 3. This place upset me. My girlfriend bought a high chair for our son and when we received it we noticed it was damaged from the start. We emailed Albee Baby to send us a replacement chair and they agreed once they received the one we purchased they will send a replacement chair. So we did what we were told. We got the return label and shipped the chair back. Weeks went by and no email no update. My girlfriend called and someone in customer service said they have no replacement chair being sent out and that they just refunded us the money. Really poor experience with this company. I made a purchase with Albee Baby a few weeks ago for a travel stroller but found there were parts missing upon receipt, rendering the stroller non-functional. I figured that these things can happen so I returned the stroller and purchased another one, banking that I would receive it within the companies posted shipping window. It was getting close to my departure date and the tracking was showing that I would not receive the replacement stroller in time for my flight. I scrambled to find a different stroller locally and emailed Albee to have them cancel the shipment and refund my money. Albee said they would cancel the shipment but charge me a $30 restocking fee.... nearly half the cost of the $70 stroller! Thinking there was a mistake here, I tried to reason with them and explain that the reason for the return was because they had fallen short on getting me the product on two separate occasions. The customer care person I was emailing with was incredibly rude and couldn't care less about trying to make a happy customer. It is so crazy that there are still companies out there like this. Awful Customer Service. I bought a stroller from them in early April before my baby was due. The stroller said it shipped, but after a couple weeks of waiting (and a baby being born), still no stroller. My tracking info said there was a label created, but that was all. I reached out to them, to which they were extremely slow to respond and I had to follow up. They said they would put in a UPS claim, but then did not respond when I asked what the next steps were, repeating that they would put in a claim. I got a call from UPS saying the claim was put in, but I could only receive updates via Albee Baby. I followed up a number of times, but heard nothing. I finally got them on the phone today and they said they could give me a refund, but that was all. When expressing my frustrating of not having a stroller and this process lasting almost 2 months, I was hung up on by the customer service person. I had to call back to confirm I was getting a refund and then was told it would take 8 days to come through my bank. A stroller is a huge purchase and not having one for a month is difficult. I would have appreciated more responsiveness, a little understanding, and some motivation to help find a solution for me. Needless to say, I will be buying a stroller somewhere else and not buying any more baby products from them. read more

Located right on Amsterdam and 95th, such a convenient location for anyone on the UWS. A diamond in the rough, as it's one of a kind in the surrounding area. The manager at this location is Peter Roberge is a red flag in that store. He lacks professionalism and customer service. His demeanor when servicing the public is rather condescending, talking down to customers as if we were wasting his time. I personally felt his tone but also witnessed it several times as I continued to shop with them. Peter's negative and rude attitude was definitely something I shouldn't have paid to experienced. One of my items for instance was delayed for about one month. Rather than receiving a call from him updating me on the status. I had to reach out Peter to follow up on the item. Rather than coming up with a solution oriented action plan or being apologetic for that matter, he blatantly and rudely suggested me to buy it from another store. Not only was this solution not what I wanted to hear from someone that manages the boutique, he proved once more that he clearly has no interest in building or retaining customer relationships. On the other hand, the rest of his team constantly gave me great service. Isidro, Carmen, Tanya and Katy are amazing! They are truly the reason why I continued shopping there. Perhaps Peter should have a touch base with his employees so they can help him improve or be reminded of what exceptional customer service in a brick and mortar store should feel like for a paying customer. If you plan on making a trip down to Albee Baby and you want a the ultimate shopping experience, followed by exceptional service. This review is for their online store. I ordered the Peg Perego primo viaggio SIP 30/30 in apricot, and it came poorly packaged. Actually, Albee Baby didn't even safely package our carseat. It just came in it's original box majorly beaten up by UPS. When we opened the original box, our carseat had many scratches, a few dings and dents, but was still functional. We are going to keep our carseat since, there was no major safety hazard damage done to it, but I would think if I ordered something brand new.. it should come looking brand new. We might try Albee Baby one more time since their prices are unbeatable, but I hope they would package our PAID items more securely in the future. Also, I wrote to customer service and also wrote on their website and asked a few questions about a week ago, and have not gotten answers back. I used to shop at Albee quite a bit when I lived on the UWS. The store always felt a bit cramped and in need of an update, so it was never the greatest shopping experience. However, the friendly staff often made up for that in spades. I moved away from that location more than a year ago but recently discovered their online store. We got a great deal on a car seat (cheaper than Amazon, actually!) and they shipped it quite fast. No complaints whatsoever. The local Albee store definitely comes in handy if you need baby gear on the spot and you are trapped in Manhattan without a car. However, if you have time, you should go with their online store.
