I've been looking for men's jeans. Even though I'm a woman, I have a pronounced lack of backside. Importantly, I wanted skinny jeans in 100% cotton denim. The salesman was incredibly helpful. He found a number of jeans for me to tray on, and one pair fit perfectly! I bought them. The Gap @ Lincoln Square I frequently visit here and I have over the years when I lived in this neighborhood. It's a typical Gap Store with all my favorite jeans and T-Shirts. It's pretty sad that many locations are closing. This location may survive since its in a busy area of entertainment venues and educational institutions. Customer service is typically the way I like. I just want to see someone ready to check me out at the register and someone to let me into the dressing room if it's necessary. At The Gap I usually don't have those problems. Get to The Gap before all the stores are gone! read more

I came here on a Monday around noon. This location is quite large. They have women's, men's, and kids. I was looking for a women's denim jean jacket in 100% Cotton without contrast stitching, without distressing, and without any 'design' details. In women's clothing, it's near impossible to find. If anyone would have it, I figured there would be a good chance it would be Gap. But alas, no. There did have denim jackets. In women's, the closest was a moderately dark wash denim jacket with contrast stitching and some distressing. The absolute closest I found was a black denim jacket in men's. Black stitching and no distressing. If only it was in women's sizing. Since it's fall, there are lots of sweaters, coats, jackets, and cold-weather accessories out now. I reported this incident to the store manager by phone and the corporate offices when it first happened, so perhaps customer service has improved. The one star is for the first impression the store had on me. I won't be spending my hard earned dollars here, so I haven't been back and don't plan on returning. I had reserved an item online and went to the store to pick it up. I was unfamiliar about the process, so I asked the associate near the front door about how I should pick it up. This was pre-pandemic. When he told me I would have to wait on line, I said I was cancelling the order because I didn't have time as the line was long. I said this in a calm, low tone. Out of nowhere, he said in a sarcastic tone as I was leaving, "Have a nice day" and gave me an evil look. I just left. I sincerely believe that some people (from all racial categories) don't want to serve Black people and also try to provoke them to conform to stereotypes. I think this is especially the case when customers don't act in a stereotypical manner. Some people just can't take it that their preconceived beliefs are challenged. I don't even waste my time explaining to them. I call corporate and go to the public forums to review them. And I never give them my dollars again. read more

I had an excellent experience here recently. I bought several items for my cousin, who is expecting and had a lot of questions, since I don't have kids. I girl named Sara helped me a lot and answered all my questions. She also pointed me to a sale area that I had total missed. I got lots of stuff at a lower price than I imagined. Once home, one off the shirts had a weird stitching problem and when I went back, the same girl helped with a quick exchange. Overall a pain-free pleasant experience! read more

I stopped by this Gap store yesterday for a single exchange because the shirt I had purchased didn't fit right after buying it but this review is geared more towards the customer service. Let's start off: Walking into the store, the sales associated greeted me with warmest smile, while I was just thinking to myself ... "man doesn't her feet hurt in those green 2 inch heels." Greeting her shortly, I walked further into the store and I noticed numerous employees walking around the store and helping other customers. Well, the best is yet to come! As I approached the cash register, the cashier working that night was the NICEST of all! I believe her name was Rohanny or something along those lines. She made me feel like a valued customer and I really appreciated the 2 minute conversation (because there were other people waiting on the line) about how my day went. All in all, this Gap store isn't as flooded as the flag-ship store on 34th street and I would totally recommend this location if you want to get GREAT customer service. read more

Gap is Gap. This location was recently renovated so it has the new feel. It doesn't have that cramped feel like it did before. The lines go quick, but the sales associates aren't too helpful. All they do is fold clothes and try to avoid questions. Oh well. read more

This has become my "go to" Gap, as it's the most easily accessible one to me, and even more accessible from the beau's apartment. (SCORE.) It's huge, well-stocked, and the staff is friendly enough when I actually search out for them. (They certainly don't come up and ask if I look like I'm in shopping peril.) I love their Gap Body section the back, especially, as it isn't as seemingly bright, noisy, and chaotic as the average Victoria's Secret store. read more

Gap in general has gone down-hill in the past 10 years. I feel like the brand doesn't stand for customer service - or any kind of interaction at all anymore. This store falls right in line with the rest of the chain as far as the customer service - or complete lack thereof. However, I will say this location was very clean and organized - everything from the men's to the women's and kids/baby sections were easy to shop, full and impactful. I was even impressed by the state of their clearance - it was organized. I just wish you could get some kind of human interaction other than the register. read more

Went to the Gap yesterday evening to buy a zippered sweat shirt. I was able to fine one in black and it was on sale with a 40% discount which I was happy about. But just take note to the female manager who was on the floor. Next time when you ask do people need help look up and get off your cellphone and help a customer. It's not a good look to be on your cellphone during work time I'm just saying. Overall the store is clean and organized and to the nice male cashier who rung me up. The signature GAP style changed minimally for the past 20 years. Same blue jeans and cable knit sweaters can still be found. Though this is a busy location, the store is well-maintained with associates folding clothes into place while customers rip through the neat piles. There are two lines, but make sure you stand on the line in the Kid's section, it goes much faster. read more

This is by far the best Gap location in Manhattan. The staff are friendly, the store has a pretty good selection of clothes and accessories. And this location is never as crowded as the the other locations that I usually shop at. read more

Mehh..I think that's the best feeling I can muster for this store. This store has half of the stock compared to the Gap on 5th Avenue (almost no men's Gapfit selection) and is not a store if you're looking to browse. Many of the hanging racks and tables where the clothes are supposed to be folded are disorganized and clothes are strewn about. While there are fewer shoppers and makes for a less hectic shopping scene as compared to the 5th Ave Gap, staff members are few-and-far between so it's an adventure to find someone to help you. I'd only go here if I lived in the area and knew the store carried the item I wanted. Otherwise, I'd rather go to another Gap location (5th Ave, etc.). read more

This gap sucks. The staff are rude, the music loud and the lines always so long. The clothes aren't great either. The gap kids is hard to maneuver with a stroller and for some reason the owners don't realize that the only time a mom can go shopping is when her kid is sleeping- and the loud music only wakes the kids up.
