Called for an estimate to repair or replace garage door and or opener. I was considering a replacement with insulation. The estimate from Jeff was free and I was told that I did not need a new door or opener but a new cable and adjustments. He showed me the problem and it was obvious. We set an appointment, Jeff came exactly on time and completed all the work. The price was less than one third of a "big box" retailer who made me think it was an emergency to repair the door and I would have to also replace the opener. Jeff is the man!! My encounter started with my garage spring giving out right before the weekend. Dreading what the job would cost, I started my search on Yelp! for a garage specialist. As luck would have it, Jeff was the first person I reached out to, and I am SO GLAD I did. I gave him a call and informed him of my situation. He gave me the MOST reasonable quote, so I went ahead and locked him in first thing Monday afternoon. Monday afternoon comes around, and Jeff showed up RIGHT on time, ready to work. Overall, Jeff is a very easygoing guy, making the entire encounter extremely seamless. I left him to do his magic and forty minutes later, he reached out telling me he was done! He walked me through everything that was performed and went so far as to assessing my other garage door as well! We both verified the operation of both garage doors, and I couldn't be happier ... honestly seemed like I had a new motor installed - smooth and quiet!! Jeff went on to teach me proactive measures I can do to extend the life of my garage doors/motors. After parting ways, my bank decided to cancel my mobile payment for "reasons." My garage door "crashed" after SOMEONE (me) tried to troubleshoot a unwound cable. Because SOMEONE (me) didn't have the wherewithal to take my car out of the garage before going all service-guy, my car was stuck in the garage. Had issues with garage door closing. Jeff responded right away and found two broken rollers and some dry rot on the vertical jambs. After the jambs were replaced he returned, replaced the rollers, adjusted the door opening and closing, installed a new bottom seal and door weatherstrip all for a reasonable price. Called Jeff today when the usual garage door repair company I use had a five day wait. Was pleasantly surprised he was willing to come take a look for no fee because we were both locally based in Redlands. I had an issue with my garage door. An old aluminum panel was tearing in half, along the bottom, while a hinge tore off. Jeff called immediately and came by the very next day. While I was waiting for other companies to respond, he was already on-the-move! To top everything off: he was the ONLY one (out of about 10 companies) who figured out how to make a repair - saving us HUNDREDS of dollars (about $700 - $1400, to be exact). He was dead honest and said, "The repair will hold indefinitely. In that time, you can wait for your tax returns and make a better decision regarding what you want." I called a couple places and most of them required a service fee just to check out what the issues are and some of them would tell us to change to motor (cost about $350)based on the description of the issue of my garage doors. So I was calling around to see if I can get a second person before I change it and to be honest, if Jeff told me the same thing, I would have just replace the motor. Jeff didn't charge service fee so I was ok to give it a last try. Jeff spent quite some time to inspect and adjust the motor and told us he wouldn't charge us since he didn't change a part and the motor is functioning. Well, had to call on Jeff again, but glad that he is local and trustworthy. My 30-year old garage door opener broke and of course it was a minor part that's no longer available. In fact, the original manufacturer is no longer. So, really didn't have a choice but to upgrade to a new opener. With Jeff's recommendation, we installed a higher end opener that's so quiet I can barely hear it in the house. Comes with all the latest bells and whistles, linked to my cell phone to notify when the garage door is open or closed, nice when one is away from home.
