In my experience, most breakfast recommendations result in a predictable and at best, well made omelette. The recommendation to come to Albergo Allegria however, lived up to, and exceeded expectations. We experienced interesting, creative and delicious dishes, served with friendliness, warmth and pride. We were not alone, observing every other table, we saw similar reactions to the "Duffle" an omelette that carried flavor and texture that eclipsed any that we have had. Our children enjoyed the "Waff-cakes" a hybrid waffle pancake with whipped cream and preserves. Rounding out our selection was the Savory Lion, scrambled eggs and cheese that was decadent. Combine the food with a welcoming couple who own and operate, along with a staff that is attentive and courteous, and you have a destination that should not be missed. Albergo Allegria is one of the most magical places I have ever had the good fortune to experience. I've been a guest multiple times and each visit is indelibly memorable. There are a thousand charming B&Bs, but they do not have Lesli and Maryanna at the helm. There is a warmth and genuineness that these hosts possess that extends to all their staff. It leads to an immediate sense of gracious welcome that enhances a physical space that is exceptionally beautiful, comfortable, individual and altogether unique. Breakfast is homemade with care and attention and the personalized recipes are delicious beyond measure. The nightly experience around the roaring firepit is especially magical. An incredibly charming and cozy B&B with warm hospitality. The owners live on site and they strive to make the guests feel comfortable and at home. On a clear cool evening, they even lit a bonfire for the guests to enjoy. The breakfast here, which was extra, was top notch and topped off with strong coffee. My wife and I needed a nice get away. 3 1/2 hours from our South Jersey home we found Albergo Allegria in the quiet town of Windham NY. Around the corner from Windham Ski Resort (obviously no skiing this weekend) and 30 minutes from the beautiful Hunter Mountain (the first of 4 weekends of Oktoberfest), Albergo Allegria is an shinning gem. The homegrown, long lost family type bed and breakfast that NO AIRB&B can even come close to matching. Our room was spotless, clean and extremely comfortable. A room for all four seasons too. The main house was warm and welcoming with quiet places to sit and read or borrow an DVD and just sit in your room and chill out should you so desire. The BREAKFAST!!!! OMG!!! Mariana and her staff including a quiet but extremely supportive and proud husband, her mom and dad (the original owners), the outstanding staff - Christine, Mike and Jack - to name only a few - put out a breakfast that you're not going to find in any diner or 5 star hotel. Some grown on the property and the rest is hand picked or directly chosen by the staff. AA's breakfasts lasted us through the day. Leslie (the husband) set us up with a back yard fire pit, even though Jack cheated when he lit it, my wife and I and some new found friends stayed out late into the night making Smores' on steroids. I would highly recommend Albergo Allegria to anyone looking for a quiet getaway, a ski vacation at Windham or Hunter, a leaf peeking weekend or golf outing. This place is an absolute must! read more

If you love old and quaint then this is your place. It's a B and B and the breakfast is worth the price of admission. Homemade everything. I suggest if you are staying with anyone else share whatever you order or ask for half orders. Portions are huge. The home made muffins with home made jams are what can I say!! There was our own door that led to a porch all for us. We sat after golf and enjoyed snacks and drinks. Life is good! The workers were all so accommodating and pleasant. Had the pleasure of stopping by Albergo Allergria for breakfast this morning! It was such a lovely atmosphere and the vibes were truly wonderful. Our waiter Justice was fabulous and attentive, it was great having conversations with him and the rest of the staff. The food was has was delicious - we shared a coffee cake muffin and a pepper, onion and potato duffle. We had never had or heard of a duffle before, but we are so glad we tried it, it was so light and fluffy but packed with all the best produce, points for sourcing locally too! We love to see it. Overall a cute place to unwind and eat some incredible food. Give the duffle a try for sure! read more

Sunday brunch over labor day weekend was perfect at the outside seating under big mature trees. This family run establishment has great service, creative, filling breakfast entrees, lots of tea and coffee choices, and we left full with a reasonable check. Had such a nice stay at the Albergo Allegria Inn. Marianna and Leslie are great hosts. We stayed Monday-Weds and Leslie shared with us a map of area restaurants which was clutch because so many are either closed on Monday, Tuesday, or both so that map came in handy. He also offered maps to area trails or anything else we may need. We stayed in the January room and it was so spacious and very clean. The room has a big closet, mini fridge, and a pair comfortable chairs. There's also a little electric fireplace that added to the coziness of the room. The Inn has so many options for sitting and relaxing, but we had the added bonus of a private porch. I know it's been said before, but the breakfast is truly amazing. Hot entree options to accompany an already ample continental spread. And not just the standard options, but some really imaginative frittatas and omelets. Marianna was always there to check in making sure things were good. Having access to the pantry was also a treat. It was nice to have the option of a variety of beverages including coffee, tea, soda with ice, along with home baked cookies in the cookie jar. I would 1000% recommend and hope to make it back myself sooner rather than later. read more

Just stayed there this past weekend. It is a really beautiful place. Everything about it is warm and welcoming. The room, although one of their more modest ones (very reasonable rate) was comfortable and well appointed. The bed was VERY comfortable. There are also places to hang out and relax by a fire with comfortable furnishings. The staff were all unfailingly friendly and helpful. I was only passing through but this would be a great place to stay and use as a base for exploring the area. I wish every place I stay in was this nice. Recommended. read more

My wife and I stayed here in 2019 and the only thing I was able to complain about was a little bit of dust on the ceiling fan. I always need to complain about something. Fast forward to mother's day weekend 2023 and I couldn't find anything to complain about. Everthing was great. In three years, they have turned almost perfect into perfect. The Albergo Allegria is definitely a ten, we were not sure if to keep our plans during the Coronavirus era since it means absolutely trusting your hosts with their cleaning regime. We ended up having an amazing time and know why the hosts named their Inn in Italian the "Inn of Happiness". The Inn is well located, a two and a half easy drive from New York City, perfectly cleaned and the awareness to all protective measures were second to none. No one entered the room while we stayed, we had the same breakfast table reserved for us and breakfast was nothing less than spectacular, creative choices, perfect execution, fair pricing and served with tons of love. If you are in the area worth coming even just for the breakfast it's way better then most breakfasts served in some of the five star hotels. Our hosts just went out of their way to do anything possible for us to feel super comfortable in spite of the challenging atmosphere which is the deal maker when you decide to take a break from the city at such times. Was so good that we ended up extending an extra day and we will be back again! read more

This was our first stay and experience at a bed and breakfast and it was the most enjoyable stay. We stayed in the Millennium room. The room was so nice and clean and was homey. It had a nice fireplace with a timer which we used everyday and night. The bed was massive and the memory foam feel was amazing and not to mention the private HUGE jacuzzi in the room. They have a 24/7 open pantry where they have fresh baked cookies daily. We even learned that between the hours of 4pm-6 they have fresh baked cakes and baked goods which we loved after a full day of skiing. The breakfast was great, half buffet style half made to order and was a great start to the day. The ONLY cons I would say was that some of the features on the jacuzzi did not work. The light in it didn't turn on and we could only get the back jets to work, the others jets wouldn't turn on. The other con was it seemed to take the shower water a bit to kinda get going in the morning. It would go between hot and cold for a while and then it seemed to become steady. Not sure why this happened but it was something we noticed. The room was very clean, however we did find a sock from what I assumed was from a previous stay. Not a deal breaker but it is something worth mentioning. This bed and breakfast is definitely going to be our go too when we come up for the weekend to ski. It was a relaxing home away from home feel and would highly recommend it to anyone. read more

We headed up for a quick weekend just after the "peak" winter season, with another couple (they had been here previously and loved it). We stayed in the main house upstairs, in a clean room, with a renovated bathroom and a comfy bed. Set in the Northern Catskill mountain forest preserve, Albergo Allegria is a circa 1892 Victorian Mansion. Italian for the "Inn of Happiness", Albergo Allegria is a 4 Diamond AAA property with manicured lawns and country gardens. Victoriana in its full detail is the architectural and decorative theme that innkeepers Lenore and Vito Radelich have preserved through this 16 room bed & breakfast inn. The staff and owners could not have been more pleasant and the Inn sports the following features: - separate guest cottages that are pet friendly - a fireplace (gas) in the common are with comfy chairs for reading - a separate area with table and games - an expansive video library (hundreds of titles) and DVD player in every room - guest kitchen with free coffee, cookies and refrigerator - a killer breakfast, and I mean killer, with several egg choices, pancakes, waffles and homemade baked goods The INN is in the Town of Windham which has a few neat restaurants, is (of course) ideally located for skiers, and is 1/2 hour from Woodstock, 10 minutes to the Windham Winery and other attractions (world's largest kaleidoscope you can stand inside. Day trips include tubing/kayaking on the Esopus River and plenty of hiking spots. We will be back. read more

Highly recommended. We were staying in the Main Street House, with no housekeeping or breakfast provided. The house is owned by a family and owner family lives on the first floor and our rooms were on the 2nd floor. The house was newly renovated and we could tell by the light fresh paint smell. It's definitely way over our expectation for an off-site B&B. The living room and bathroom sizes are generous, and everything is so clean and cozy. We can't expect more. Although daily housekeeping is not provided, the garbage in the kitchen was emptied and the owner told us that we could ask for more fresh bath towels if needed. read more

Decided to spend memorial weekend in Catskills and upon looking for quite last minute housing, my husband and I decided on Albergo Allegria Inn based on online reviews. We were a bit worried about a bed & breakfast spot and how clean & attentive the place would be, but we were pleasantly surprised. The Inn was very clean with every room having its own unique style. The room was a good size for a couples' weekend get away and all the guests were pleasant to be around - everyone was considerate and polite. Then, we read a lot about the breakfast served at this Inn and it definitely didn't disappoint! Every morning for breakfast, there would be a new menu with options for breakfast along with a buffet table. The breakfast was mad so nicely and it was so enjoyable. We stayed in the cottage for 4 nights. Lenore and Vito were amazing hosts, there was a problem with the fridge that they went out of their way to resolve. Our car had a flat and Vito helped us out. The location is great for walking to restaurants in Windham snd for skiing Windham as well as Hunter. We will absolutely stay there again next trip up the Catskills read more

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Albergo Allegria Hotel & Breakfast Restaurant on Friday, July 9th, 2021. The 21 room hotel was the only hotel in the area that did not require a 2 night stay on the weekends. The main building is charming. Jack at the front desk was welcoming and informative. He suggested a nice restaurant for us just outside of town. We stayed in the carriage house building in a delightful room with a four posted high bed with a dreamy mattress. Huge jacuzzi bathtub in the spaciious bathroom. We had a delicious breakfast the next morning made for us by Marianna the owner. If not for a thunderstorm that night, we would have sat outside by the firepit. The next morning we traveled not even a half mile to the Windham Country Club to play a round of golf. The only minor complaint was that the water from both the bathroom faucet and the shower smelled like sulfur. I guess the local water company was having an issue. After a detailed search I came across this place. It had so many great reviews I had to look more into it. Initially I wanted to go Saturday to Sunday but ended up staying Feb. 10th-11th with my girlfriend for a quick snowboard get away. We came from Astoria, NY and the ride was about 2hrs. We had the Lavender Thyme room. It has a private entrance, huge bed, huge ceilings, shower/ jacuzzi tub and an awesome fireplace. The whole place was cozy, with a back-home/country feel. They Offer complimentary soda, juice, coffee and cookies. We also were given an amazing homemade cheese cake. You have access to this 24/7. They also have a tea/coffee/hot chocolate you can have 24/7. Free WiFi in room. The next day we had a great home cooked breakfast. It also came with a buffet of fresh fruit, English muffins, bread and homemade banana nut muffins. The breakfast room is so cozy and warm. They have free WiFi in the main room/lobby area and section to go on the internet. They have menus and maps of all the surrounding areas restaurants. We chose Messina's Restaurant. It was down the road and Albergo offered 10% off coupon which they didn't have and actually called the place to have them give us the discount. It was cozy and pretty good food. The staff was so friendly and easy going. We had no issues and they made you feel so welcome. I forget their names but they were all amazing and willing to chat. I love this place and would recommend it to anyone. Go!!! Side notes: Can see Windham/Windham Adventure Park from Hotel. 1.5 miles away. Offer discounted lift tickets at hotel. read more

I'm driving to this out-of-the-way little hamlet we were a little skeptical. But when we were immediately charmed by this BnB. The owners were courteous and friendly. They offered excellent an excellent dining recommendation. The property had numerous places to lounge and a fire ring at night for meeting other guests if that's your thing. We had an issue with an air conditioner and Leslie was prompt in responding. He immediately checked it out and put us in another room. Issues like this happen but it's how it is dealt with that determines the quality of a place. This was handled with aplomb. Oh, and the beds were comfortable to boot. Thumbs up. read more
