And it's not just me. I've noticed that same interaction with every customer that walks in and I believe that this is key to creating powerful and meaningful relationships with your customers, which keeps on bringing them back. Aside from that, I love how there is so much offered at Mizzica, from a variety of flavours to choose from, to delicious pastry options to products from Italy and more. I have been visiting Mizzica since they first opened (their original location). As I don't go to Downtown Toronto often, I don't get to spend a lot of time here but every single time I'm in downtown, I try to stop by. I recently had their lychee flavor and that was simply amazing and so refreshing. My favourite items are the fruit tarts (always right on), the croissants, cannolis and the Gelato.

Both locations are pretty consistent, although sometimes one will have a special or rotating flavour that the other doesn't. The shop itself is small, so expect a bit of a line, but it moves quickly. The staff are always friendly, and they let you sample up to two flavours. This time we ordered a cup with raspberry and dark chocolate, and another cup with just dark chocolate. The dark chocolate is hands down one of the most decadent chocolate gelatos I've ever had. It's incredibly rich, creamy, and intensely chocolatey without being overly sweet. Will FOREVER rave about this flavour!!!!The raspberry paired so well with it too--it gave me chocolate-covered fruit vibes with the perfect balance of tart and decadent. I also love the atmosphere here. Between the music and the overall vibe, it really feels like you've stepped into a little gelateria in Italy. Tip (!!): check their Instagram before you go to see the daily flavours

There were about 10 flavours to choose from and an interesting flavour such as osmanthus (a type of flower) to Kumquat and lime. I sampled the osmanthus flavour and it tasted like jasmine tea with honey sweetness with floral aftertaste. I went with pistachio and they sprinkled it with crunchy pistachio on top too. I picked grape as my free sorbet flavour. My friend had the hazelnut and mango+passion fruit flavours. The pistachio is on the creamy side and I enjoyed the grape gelato which was refreshing and had grape bites with skin in it. I recommend eating it fast as they were melting quickly. Definitely a great addition to the Yonge and Wellesley neighbourhood and can't wait to try more flavours. There is a long row of seats and it was bright and clean. I tried four flavours: rice, sweet potato, pistachio, and jasmine green tea. The rice and sweet potato were light, unique flavours that would appeal to those who enjoy more delicate tastes, while the pistachio, though enjoyable, didn't quite stand out as much compared to others I've tried. Out of all of them, I particularly enjoyed the jasmine green tea, being a big fan of jasmine. The gelato was decent, though I thought it could have been creamier and less icy. They also offered self-serve water to help cleanse your palate after the dessert.

I just polished off an amazingly satisfying meal at nearby Pai Northern Thai Kitchen, so I strolled around to work off some of the weight I undoubtedly gained and to fend off any potential food coma before my next movie screening. I preferred gelato over ice cream because of its density, flavor, and richness, and in most cases, gelaterias usually made each flavor in small batches and changed up the options daily; that was the case here, too. Did 00's gelato rank higher than their name!? PURCHASE Medium 2 Flavors Ferrero Rocher & Pistachio + Waffle Cone (47.75CAD + $1.25CAD): Limited on flavor selections, these were the two that caught my tastebuds' attention. If you were familiar with these respective flavors, they were completely on point from aromas to actual pieces of each ingredient to how they tasted. I felt the portion size was a bit lacking, and the presentation had little to be desired, but it was a yummy dessert nonetheless. The waffle cone was sweet and had a nice crunch. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=456&select=5p4YewqnXvRX44YR2zSnhQ SERVICE This place was usually busy every time I passed by, so I was surprised when I came across a lull and bolted in. Greeted by a cute friendly but seemingly tired young woman, I easily scanned the seven flavors available, made my decision and paid, she quickly put together my dessert, and I happily walked away with a prize in my hand. All was good - cheers! PARKING (Varied; N/A this instance): I was constantly in the area all day throughout the entire 2025 Toronto International Film Festival, so I simply walked. Otherwise, there were spots along the many main and surrounding streets, some nearby structures, numerous public transportation options, and rideshares - 'nuff said! ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE Literally a hole in the wall, or to be exact a slice into a corner of a building, with only room enough for a refrigerated cooler and a sole employee. There was a price menu https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=456&select=sD2oCJ5m4eU7LNNcGD1GCA hung on the wall and truly nothing else. Plenty of natural lighting entered through the large glass wall and front door while electric recessed ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were no TVs while awesome rock music blared from a large speaker right outside the door. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=456&select=JMsoG-LRoGKS9fOtV1LEqw ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL 00 Gelato filled my "need" for dessert and a little sweet treat before I headed into a movie screening. I really enjoyed the two flavors I picked but felt I got shorted in the scoop size. The prices seemed standard, and the service was straightforward. Plus, I always preferred to support small mom & pop businesses. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $10.00CAD BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS

I would say we came at a pretty good time, we were able to wait in line inside but a couple minutes after there was a line waiting outside. They had alot of interesting flavors to choose from. Originally we wanted two scoops but I was stuck between two flavors I really wanted to try, so we got three scoops haha. We got the Stracciatella, Black Sesame, and Cheese Lover's. The girl taking our order was very friendly and helpful. And upon tasting their gelato for the first time, wow. This is hands down one of the best gelatos I've ever had. It was really everything I could've wanted in a gelato: great consistency, smooth, creamy, very flavorful. And of course it nailed the sweet but not too sweet level. The portion size was perfect for us and I like the little vanilla waffle cracker they added on top. The space inside had a couple tables to eat at, but it was packed once we got our gelato. There wasn't a single empty table in sight so we just walked outside and ate it there. There's a reason why there is always a line at this place and it's not hard to see why. The quality is just outstanding. We truly enjoyed our gelato and I look forward to coming back again. I'm a big Mizzica fan! Thanks for serving us.
